Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 325 Learning and Advancing Together in Wartime

The enemy's roars were deafening, and all sorts of bizarre and monstrous beasts surged forward like a tide. I took a deep breath and channeled my beast-taming power into my companion—the Crimson Griffin. It let out a loud cry, flapped its wings, and charged into the enemy ranks like a ball of burning flame.

From the very start of the battle, I sensed something amiss. According to the original plan, the Beastmasters were supposed to flank the enemy from the left, pinning down their main force. However, they suddenly changed direction, flanking the enemy from the rear. I wondered, had they discovered something we hadn't noticed? Or…did they have another plan?

I glanced at Su Yao beside me. Her brows were furrowed, clearly having noticed our ally's unusual behavior. "What's going on? Why did they change their plans?" she asked in a low voice, a hint of worry in her voice.

I shook my head, indicating that I didn't know either. But my intuition told me that things were probably not that simple. The strategist's face, always bearing a mysterious smile, flashed through my mind. Could his deliberate concealment of the purpose of those tools be related to this?

Before I could think, the enemy was closing in. I immediately used telepathy to communicate the changed tactics to the Crimson Griffin. It understood perfectly, quickly adjusting its attack direction and coordinating seamlessly with its ally's change. The other beast companions also responded, flexibly shifting formations like well-trained soldiers.

"It seems we'll have to adapt to the situation," I said in a deep voice, my eyes fixed on the battlefield. Su Yao nodded, the longsword in her hand emitting a clear hum, and she flashed into the fray.

The situation on the battlefield is constantly changing. Although the actions of their allies were unexpected, their strength should not be underestimated. Led by the powerful beast tamer's steed—a giant rhinoceros with a metallic sheen—they advanced with unstoppable momentum, quickly breaking through the enemy's defenses.

My Crimson Griffin was equally formidable, spewing scorching flames that incinerated any enemies that stood in its way. Su Yao and I fought side by side, like two bolts of lightning, weaving through the enemy ranks, and wherever we went, the enemy scattered in disarray.

The previously chaotic situation was brought under control due to the sudden change of allies. The enemy's rear was cut off, and their main forces were tied down, causing the entire battle to begin to tilt in our favor.

My doubts deepened. What exactly were the Beastmasters planning? Was their goal truly just to win this war?

The battle continued. I directed my beast-taming companions while keeping a close eye on the Beast Tamer's movements. Suddenly, I noticed him glancing in a certain direction, seemingly intentionally or unintentionally. Following his gaze, I saw a dark figure vaguely visible on a distant mountain peak…

"What are they waiting for?" the Beastmaster suddenly asked, his voice low and meaningful.

The flames of the Crimson Griffin scorched the air, the pungent smell of burning flesh mingling with the stench of blood, assaulting my senses. The Beastmaster's words sent a chill down my spine. What were they waiting for? Was there some undiscovered variable on this battlefield? I followed his gaze back to the mountain peak, but still only saw a blurry black shadow, like a ghost, elusive and unfathomable.

“Maybe he’s just a scout,” I replied tentatively, trying to keep my tone calm. “After all, it’s never wrong to be cautious.”

The Beastmaster did not respond, but only smiled meaningfully, a smile that made me feel even more uneasy.

Meanwhile, the Neptune Beastmaster at the rear, seeing the actions of the Protylene Beastmaster team, turned ashen-faced. He yanked the reins hard, and the giant lizard beneath him hissed uneasily. "They've definitely got something wrong!" he roared at the Plutonium Envoy beside him. "They have no intention of following the plan at all! We must stop cooperating immediately!"

The plutonium envoy wiped the cold sweat from his brow, his face pale. "Neptune Beastmaster, please calm down! Breaking off cooperation now will only put us in a more dangerous situation!"

"Danger? What could be more dangerous than cooperating with people of unknown origin!" the Beastmaster roared, his spear pointing towards the battlefield. "They're just trying to use us! I will not allow that to happen!"

I witnessed all of this, and my confusion only deepened. The actions of the Beast Tamer, the anger of the Beast Tamer—it all seemed like a tangled mess, leaving me completely bewildered.

Just then, I felt a burning gaze fall upon me. I turned my head and saw Su Yao looking at me, her eyes full of admiration and pride. She smiled slightly and said in a voice only I could hear, "You did very well, Nong Yu."

Her smile, like a ray of sunshine in winter, warmed my heart. I took a deep breath, clearing my mind of all distractions, and refocused my attention on the battlefield. No matter what, I must protect her, protect our shared home.

I commanded the Crimson Griffin, coordinating seamlessly with Su Yao like two sharp blades, tearing gaps through the enemy ranks. I keenly observed every detail of the battlefield, trying to discern the patterns in the Beastmasters' movements. Their actions, seemingly chaotic, always delivered a fatal blow at crucial moments. This was no coincidence; there must be some hidden pattern behind it…

Suddenly, the dark figure on the distant mountain peak moved.

"They're here..." the Beastmaster said in a low voice, a hint of barely perceptible excitement in his tone.
