Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 3 Deep in the Perilous Forest, the Beast Taming Begins

Su Yao's fingers traced across the runes, and a faint golden light shone forth.

Those ancient symbols seemed to come alive, twisting slightly in the air and exuding a mysterious and powerful aura.

I held my breath, afraid of disturbing this power. "This formation is ancient, yet its power is exceptionally pure," Su Yao said, withdrawing her hand and frowning. "It seems to be used in some kind of ancient beast-taming ritual."

"A beast-taming ritual?" I murmured to myself, a surge of excitement rising within me.

Could this be the key to awakening my beast-taming ability? Su Yao circled the formation several times, carefully observing every detail.

"This formation is ingeniously designed, with each part interlocking with the next. Trying to break it by force would likely lead to unpredictable consequences."

She paused for a moment, then continued, "However, I have discovered a weakness."

She pointed to a rune at the edge of the formation and said, "The power of this rune is relatively weak. If we can activate it using a specific method, we might be able to open a passage."

Su Yao told me that to activate the runes, I needed to resonate with them using a special kind of spiritual energy fluctuation.

This kind of spiritual energy fluctuation needs to be in harmony with one's own beast-taming talent; otherwise, it will only backfire.

My heart started racing; this was undoubtedly a huge challenge for me.

I took a deep breath and slowly mobilized the meager spiritual power within my body. Following Su Yao's instructions, I carefully injected the spiritual power into the rune.

At first, there was no response. Beads of sweat began to appear on my forehead, and I couldn't help but feel a little anxious.

Is it that my talent is insufficient to activate this rune?

Just when I was about to give up, a strange energy suddenly surged out from the rune and resonated with my spiritual power.

It felt like a drop of water merging into the ocean, yet creating a thousand waves.

The runes emitted a dazzling light, and the entire formation trembled as a result.

A crack slowly appeared in the center of the formation, like a door leading to an unknown world.

"Now!" Su Yao shouted. Without hesitation, I leaped into the crevice.

After a dizzying spin, I found myself in a completely new space.

The spiritual energy here is far superior to that outside the ancient forest, and a strange fragrance permeates the air, making people feel refreshed and relaxed.

I felt the spiritual energy within my body flowing rapidly, as if it were being drawn by some kind of force.

I knew I was one step closer to awakening my beast-taming abilities. Suddenly, I felt a powerful, suffocating pressure coming from ahead.

I looked up and saw a huge figure slowly emerging from the darkness...

"Who dares to trespass into this forbidden area!" A deep voice echoed through the space.

The figure gradually became clearer; it was a giant python covered in blue scales, ten zhang long, with a pair of cold, vertical pupils radiating a chilling light.

It sat coiled in the center, like a small mountain, radiating a suffocating aura. Is this the guardian beast?

"Be careful!" Su Yao warned, drawing her longsword as she did so, the blade crackling with lightning.

The giant python flicked its tongue and hissed. The next moment, it launched a sudden attack, its massive body hurtling towards us like lightning.

Su Yao flashed forward to meet the attack. The sword light collided with the scales, producing a piercing scraping sound.

I dared not delay, and mobilized all the spiritual power in my body, trying to establish a connection with the little beast I had saved earlier—a snow-white little fox.

The little fox seemed to sense my call, poking its head out from my arms, looking at me with its bright eyes, and letting out a soft cry.

The giant python's power was beyond imagination. Although Su Yao was strong, she was unable to gain the upper hand for the time being.

She was struck by the python's tail, her body flying backward and crashing into a huge tree trunk, a trickle of blood spilling from the corner of her mouth.

"Su Yao!" My heart tightened, but now was not the time to worry about her; I had to face this powerful guardian beast alone.

The giant python turned its gaze to me, its eyes filled with contempt.

It seemed to think I was nothing more than an ant, nothing to be afraid of.

It opened its blood-red maw, and a foul stench assaulted my senses, as if it wanted to swallow me whole.

At the critical moment, I finally made contact with the little fox.

A warm current flowed into my body, and I felt my strength greatly enhanced.

At the same time, the little fox emitted a dazzling white light, its body began to grow larger, its originally snow-white fur gradually turned silver, and its nine tails swayed behind it like nine silver waterfalls.

"Roar!" The little fox let out a deafening roar; it had evolved!

My power merged with that of the little fox, forming a powerful energy surge that crashed towards the giant python.

Caught off guard, the giant python was struck by the energy and let out a painful roar.

Several cracks appeared on its scales, and blood flowed from them.

I seized the opportunity and once again mobilized all the spiritual power in my body, joining forces with the little fox to launch a fierce attack on the giant python.

We moved like two bolts of lightning around the giant python, each attack carrying immense power.

Although the giant python was powerful, it gradually became unable to withstand our relentless attacks.

Its body was covered in wounds, and its breathing became disordered.

Finally, after a fierce attack, the giant python crashed to the ground, letting out a roar of resentment, before turning into a ball of blue light and disappearing.

I felt a wave of exhaustion and collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.

The little fox returned to my side, nuzzling my face and whimpering softly.

I know I've succeeded. I've gained the power of Beast Taming Awakening.

However, when I thought about returning to the ancestral hall and facing the gazes of the witch and other clansmen, my heart was filled with trepidation.

How will they view me, the boy who was once looked down upon?

I got up, dusted myself off, and walked towards Su Yao.

She has recovered somewhat and is resting against a tree trunk.

“Let’s go,” I said. “It’s time to go back.” Su Yao looked at me, her eyes filled with a complex emotion.

She said nothing, only nodded. Leaving the formation and returning to the ancient forest, the sunlight outside seemed particularly dazzling.

I took a deep breath and started my journey back to the village. Suddenly, Lin Hu and several members of his family jumped out from the roadside and blocked my way.

Lin Hu, a sinister smile on his face, said, "Oh, isn't this our family's good-for-nothing Nong Yu? What, you managed to emerge alive from the ancient forest?"

A sense of unease crept over me; I wondered what trick they were up to now… “Lin Hu, you…”
