Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 4 On the way back to the village, the beast control shows its first signs
Lin Hu, a sinister smile on his face, said, "Oh, isn't this our family's good-for-nothing Nong Yu? What, you managed to emerge alive from the ancient forest?"
I became wary, wondering what tricks they were up to this time.
Su Yao has already gone back to her family to report, so now it's just me and the little fox.
I clenched my fists, forcing myself to remain calm: "Lin Hu, what do you want to do?"
"What are you doing?" Lin Hu raised his eyebrows in feigned surprise, then glanced at me disdainfully. "I'm just curious how a piece of trash like you could have survived the ancient forest. Were you perhaps hiding in some corner, trembling with fear, only daring to emerge after the danger had passed?"
The family members behind him also burst into laughter, their words filled with sarcasm and ridicule.
I gritted my teeth, trying to control the anger in my heart. In the past, because I couldn't awaken my beast-taming ability, I was always regarded as a disgrace to the family and suffered their bullying.
"What I do is none of your business," I replied coldly, my eyes fixed on Lin Hu.
Lin Hu seemed to be angered by my attitude. He stepped forward, pointed at the little fox beside me, and said contemptuously, "Oh, you brought back a little pet? What, is this your new guardian angel? Haha, that's hilarious. This weak fox thinks it can protect you?"
His words drew laughter from those around him again. I sneered inwardly, "Lin Hu, you're truly blind!"
I gently stroked the little fox's soft fur and said calmly, "This little fox isn't just any ordinary pet; it's my partner."
"Partner?" Lin Hu laughed so hard he almost fell over, as if he'd heard the funniest joke. "Nong Yu, have you gone mad? An ordinary fox can become your partner? You're getting more and more ridiculous!"
I don't want to waste any more words with him. It's time to show him my true strength.
I took a deep breath and established a spiritual connection with the little fox, sharing each other's strength.
In an instant, the little fox emitted a dazzling light, its size increased, its originally soft fur stood on end, and its eyes became sharp.
A powerful aura emanated from the little fox, pressing down on the surrounding air.
Lin Hu and his companions were stunned. Their smiles froze, replaced by shock and fear.
They never imagined that this seemingly unremarkable fox possessed such great power.
Lin Hu's face turned pale. He subconsciously took a few steps back and stammered, "You...you...what kind of sorcery is this?"
A slight smirk appeared on my lips: "This isn't sorcery; it's my ability to control beasts."
Lin Hu's face grew even uglier, his eyes flashing with jealousy and resentment.
He glared at me fiercely, then turned to the family members behind him and said, "Let's go!"
“Wait,” I called out to them, “this isn’t over yet. You were just mocking me so much, and now you think you can just walk away?”
Lin Hu paused, his expression shifting between anger and uncertainty. He turned and glared at me fiercely, his eyes burning with rage.
"Nong Yu, don't push your luck! You think you can ride roughshod over me just because you've gotten a beast with some strength? Let me tell you, I'm a trainee beast tamer, and my beasts are much stronger than yours!"
He suddenly waved his hand, and a porcupine covered in sharp quills appeared beside him.
The porcupine was enormous, with sharp tusks, and let out a deafening roar that made the ground tremble slightly.
"Spiky, teach him a lesson!" Lin Hu pointed at me and roared hoarsely.
The porcupine "Spiky Ball" charged at me like an arrow, its four hooves flying and its sharp quills standing on end.
I sneered inwardly. This clumsy thing thinks it can hurt me? I gently patted the little fox's head. "Little Ling, let's go!"
Xiao Ling flashed, transforming into a red phantom, nimbly dodging the porcupine's charge.
The porcupine crashed headfirst into a large tree by the roadside with a dull thud, causing the tree trunk to shake violently and leaves to fall.
Seeing that the porcupine seemed a bit dizzy, I was secretly delighted; my chance had come!
"Xiao Ling, Wind Blade!" I thought to myself and coordinated perfectly with Xiao Ling.
Xiao Ling quickly turned around, and a cyan wind blade condensed in her mouth. The wind blade was as sharp as a knife, and with a sharp whistling sound, it shot towards the porcupine.
The wind blade struck the porcupine precisely in the side, causing it to let out a miserable cry as a deep wound appeared on its body, from which blood gushed out.
Lin Hu's expression changed drastically. He never expected that his tamed beast would be so agile and powerful.
He shouted in a panic, "Spiky Ball, get out of the way!" But it was too late. Little Spirit was too fast. Like a red lightning bolt, it kept attacking the porcupine with wind blades, claw strikes, and tail whips, each move deadly.
The porcupine's clumsy body was unable to dodge, and it was covered in wounds, its blood staining the ground red.
Lin Hu was both shocked and furious. He roared hysterically, but to no avail.
He watched helplessly as his tamed beast was beaten mercilessly by Xiao Ling, his heart filled with fear and despair.
I didn't intend to kill him outright; I just wanted to teach Lin Hu a lesson and let him know that I'm not someone to be trifled with.
I patted Xiaoling's head to signal it to stop. Xiaoling obediently returned to my side and gently rubbed against my leg.
I gave Lin Hu a cold glance, then turned and continued walking towards the village.
Xiaoling followed closely behind me with light, quick steps.
Lin Hu stood there, his face ashen, his eyes flashing with resentment.
He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug deep into his flesh, and blood flowed down between his fingers.
He secretly vowed to make Nong Yu pay the price!
I knew nothing of Lin Hu's conspiracy and headed straight for the village.
As the sun sets, the evening glow paints the sky red, enveloping the village in a golden light.
I stood in front of the ancestral hall, looking at the tightly closed gate, and a strange unease welled up in my heart.
I was surrounded by villagers, who were whispering and looking at me with complicated expressions.
The village chief stood in the center of the crowd, his face solemn and his eyes filled with doubt.
He spoke slowly, his voice deep and powerful: "Nong Yu, I heard you've awakened your beast-taming ability, is that true?" I took a deep breath...
