Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 27 Beast Taming Counterattack, Overcoming Powerful Enemies

The shadow of death loomed over me, but the expected excruciating pain did not come. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Little Gold—my Crimson Flame Fox—standing before Su Yao and me, its small body as imposing as a mountain. It was bathed in golden light, its once fiery red fur now glowing like burning gold, its bushy tail held high, nine phantom tails swaying behind it, radiating a chilling pressure. What was happening? Little Gold… it… it was evolving!

I was overjoyed, a warm current of hope welling up inside me. Little Gold had been stuck at the bottleneck of beginner-level Beast Taming, but unexpectedly, at this critical moment, it had broken through!

The golden light gradually subsided, and Little Gold's size had increased significantly. Its once childish face had become more majestic, and its golden eyes burned with fierce flames, as if they could see through everything.

It roared to the sky, its roar echoing like thunder throughout the entire ruins, even causing the crumbling stone walls to tremble.

The guardian was stunned by this sudden turn of events. It stared blankly at Little Gold, a hint of apprehension flashing in its eyes.

"Xiao Jin, let's go together!"

I shouted excitedly, my heart brimming with power. Little Gold let out a clear cry, and in a flash, it rushed towards the Guardian like a red lightning bolt.

It brandished its sharp claws, scratching the guardian's body fiercely, leaving several deep wounds.

The guardian let out a painful roar and swung its huge arm to try and hit Little Gold, but Little Gold nimbly dodged it.

"good chance!"

Seeing this, Su Yao immediately seized the opportunity, her longsword shining brightly, and a sharp sword aura rushed straight towards the guardian's head.

The guardian quickly raised his arm to block, and the sword energy collided with his arm, producing a loud bang. The guardian was knocked back several steps.

I saw the guardian reveal a weakness, so I immediately commanded Little Gold to attack it.

Little Gold understood immediately, and in another flash, it appeared behind the Guardian and bit its hind leg.

The guardian cried out in pain and struggled frantically, but Little Gold held on tightly.

"It's now!"

Su Yao launched another attack, unleashing an even more powerful sword aura that hurtled straight towards the guardian's chest.

The guardian was powerless to resist and was struck by the sword energy. It let out a shrill scream and its massive body crashed to the ground. I let out a long sigh of relief and slumped to the ground, utterly exhausted.

"we won?"

I looked at the Guardian lying on the ground, unable to believe it was real.

Su Yao walked to my side with a smile on her face. "Yes, we won."

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently, and the surrounding stone walls began to collapse.

"Oh no! This place is going to collapse!" Su Yao's expression changed, and she grabbed my hand, saying, "Run!" We ran desperately towards the outside, with collapsing rocks and dust behind us...

"and many more……"

I suddenly stopped and looked back into the depths of the ruins, where something seemed to be calling to me... Little Gold's evolved power was beyond my imagination.

It is no longer the Crimson Flame Fox that could only breathe fireballs; it now possesses the ability to control golden flames.

The golden flames are hotter and more destructive than ordinary flames.

With each swing of its claws, it unleashed streaks of golden flame, leaving deep burn marks on the guardian. The guardian roared in agony, its massive body trembling uncontrollably.

Su Yao seized the opportunity, raising her longsword high, its blade gleaming with dazzling light. She chanted incantations, and a powerful energy gathered around her.

I know this is her strongest skill—

"Heavenly Punishment Sword Technique." "Heavenly Punishment!"

With a sharp cry, Su Yao slashed down with her longsword. A massive sword aura descended from the sky, carrying an earth-shattering force, and struck the guardian fiercely.

The guardian let out a shrill scream as its massive body was cleaved open by the sword energy, and green blood gushed out.

It stood swaying precariously, seemingly about to collapse at any moment. But it did not fall. A glint of madness flashed in its eyes, and its aura began to surge wildly.

I knew it was going to fight desperately.

"No, it's going to explode!"

Su Yao's expression changed drastically, and she pulled me back. Just then, I suddenly noticed a faintly glowing scale on the guardian's chest.

This scale is different from the others; its color is deeper, and it seems to be engraved with some kind of mysterious runes. My intuition tells me that this is the Guardian's weakness!

"Little Gold, attack that scale on its chest!"

I pointed at the guardian's chest and shouted.

Little Gold seemed to sense the importance of that scale as well. It let out a sharp cry, and its body transformed into a golden lightning bolt, heading straight for the guardian's chest.

The guardian was preparing to self-destruct and didn't notice Little Gold's attack at all. Little Gold's sharp claws gripped the scale tightly, and the scale shattered instantly.

The guardian let out a painful roar, its aura instantly fading. Its massive body crashed to the ground, lifeless. We won.

I let out a long sigh of relief and slumped to the ground, feeling utterly exhausted. Su Yao also breathed a sigh of relief, walked over to me, and gave me an encouraging smile.

"Let's go see what treasures are in there."

"Su Yao said. We walked together to where the guardian had fallen and found a small stone platform beneath it. On the platform was an exquisite wooden box."

I carefully opened the wooden box, inside which was a bead that shone with golden light.

"This is... Dragon Ball?"

"Su Yao exclaimed. Dragon Balls, legendary treasures containing immense power. It is said that obtaining just one Dragon Ball can greatly enhance one's strength."

I carefully put the Dragon Ball away, my heart filled with excitement.

We continued exploring the ruins and discovered some other treasures, which, while not as precious as the Dragon Balls, were still quite valuable.

I know there are still many dangers in this Monster Mountain Range, and we need to continue to improve our strength.

As night fell, we and several other classmates rested at our makeshift campsite. Suddenly, a series of low roars came from afar, breaking the tranquility of the night.

My heart trembled, and a feeling of uneasiness came over me.

I stood up alertly and looked in the direction the sound came from... In the distance, a pair of scarlet eyes gleamed in the darkness...
