I turned around abruptly and saw a sharp dagger aimed at Su Yao! It was Lei Yushouzhe! He had actually returned! In the nick of time, Su Yao reacted quickly and dodged the fatal blow, but the dagger still cut her arm, and blood instantly stained her clothes.

"Su Yao!" I exclaimed, a fire of anger burning in my chest. "Despicable wretch!" Su Yao gritted her teeth, clutching her injured arm, her eyes flashing with cold light.

I quickly stepped in front of Su Yao, channeling my beast-taming power to engage the Thunder Beast Tamer in fierce combat. The Fire Beast Tamer also joined the battle, and the two of them ganged up on me.

Elder Feng led us into the land of inheritance.

"This is the place of inheritance," Elder Feng pointed to a high platform in front of us. "Climb up to the platform and accept the trial." I took a deep breath and walked towards the platform with Su Yao.

Just then, I noticed a girl in white standing on the platform. She had a beautiful face and an ethereal air about her, as if she didn't belong to this world.

“She is Miss Yun,” Elder Feng seemed to see my doubts. “She has a special connection with the inheritance and will guide you to complete the trial.”

Miss Yun smiled at us and then pointed to a stone tablet in the center of the platform. “Place your hands on the stone tablet and the trial will begin.”

Su Yao and I exchanged a glance, then walked forward together and placed our hands on the cold stone tablet.

A strange power surged into my body in an instant, and my vision was filled with white light... "Yu..." A soft voice rang in my ear, as gentle as a feather brushing against my heartstrings.

I felt someone get close to me, and a faint fragrance entered my nostrils—the unique orchid scent that Su Yao possessed.

I slowly opened my eyes, and through the blur, I saw Su Yao's face so close to mine. Her hair gently brushed against my cheek, bringing a tingling sensation.

"Su Yao..." I called softly, my voice still a little hoarse. "Yu, you're finally awake."

Su Yao's eyes were filled with worry. She reached out and gently stroked my face. "How are you feeling?"

I sat up, feeling a surge of energy within me, all my previous fatigue vanished.

“I’m fine,” I said, holding Su Yao’s hand and feeling the warmth of her palm. “On the contrary, I feel stronger than before.”

Su Yao smiled gently, her smile as warm as a spring breeze, dispelling the gloom in my heart.

"That's good," she whispered, leaning closer to me. "Yu, no matter what, I'll be with you." Her breath brushed against my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

Looking into her clear eyes, a warm feeling welled up inside me. In this perilous world, having such a companion by my side gives me immense peace of mind and strength.

However, this moment of warmth was quickly shattered. I noticed a furtive figure in the distance—it was none other than the Thunder Beastmaster!

He didn't leave; instead, he watched us intently from a distance.

I saw him gathering his men, who were whispering and plotting something, their eyes filled with greed and malice.

Clearly, the Thunder Beastmaster hadn't given up on seizing the inheritance. He was waiting for the right moment, preparing to launch his attack after Su Yao and I had exhausted our strength during the trial.

"That despicable scoundrel!" I cursed inwardly, clenching my fists. I told Su Yao about Lei Yu's actions, and her expression also turned serious.

“It seems we can’t let our guard down,” a cold glint flashed in Su Yao’s eyes. “We must complete the trial as soon as possible and leave this dangerous place.”

We refocused our attention on the trial before us. The Cloud Maiden stood on the high platform and explained the rules of the trial to us.

"The trial is divided into three stages, each of which will test your beast-taming ability, combat skills, and willpower. Only by passing all the stages can you obtain the inheritance."

As soon as Miss Yun finished speaking, a beam of light suddenly appeared on the stone tablet in the center of the platform, and a teleportation portal appeared in front of us.

I channeled my beast-taming power to fight alongside Su Yao, fending off the monsters' attacks. However, these monsters seemed endless, and their strength was only increasing.

I felt the pressure mounting, and my strength was rapidly depleting. Suddenly, I felt my footing give way, and my body began to fall uncontrollably...
