"Desperate? You're the one with no way out, Thunder Beastmaster!" I replied coldly, holding Su Yao's hand tightly and feeling her slight trembling.

With barriers in front and pursuers behind, the first trial of this inheritance test truly gave us a "baptism of fire." The sky was filled with swirling yellow sand, obscuring the sun, while enormous sand scorpions roared, their stingers gleaming with an eerie green light, sending chills down our spines.

"Nong Yu, what should we do?" Su Yao's voice was filled with anxiety. Although she was a powerful Valkyrie, she couldn't help but feel flustered in the face of such a dangerous situation.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "Don't be afraid, Su Yao, we will definitely find a way to break through."

Xiao Jin was my first tamed beast. It has keen perception and strong defense, making it the best choice for scouting.

Upon receiving the order, Little Gold transformed into a golden ray and swiftly flew towards the barrier. It cautiously touched the barrier, sensing the flow of energy within it.

Suddenly, Little Gold let out a low whimper and was bounced back. I quickly went over and caught it, finding that it was not injured, but just a little listless.

"It seems that this barrier is very strong, and it also seems to have some kind of rebounding force," I mused.

Xiao Jin's probing gave me a preliminary understanding of the barrier, and it also made me more cautious. "Then what should we do?" Su Yao's tone was tinged with despair.

"Now!" I shouted, commanding my other tamed beast—a powerful firebird—to attack the swarm of sand scorpions.

The firebird's attack rained down like fire, instantly engulfing the sand scorpion swarm. Although the sand scorpions' attacks were powerful, they couldn't penetrate Little Gold's defenses.

The firebirds' attacks, however, caused them enormous damage.

Under the firebird's fierce attack, the sand scorpion swarm was forced into retreat. Finally, a giant sand scorpion crashed into the energy barrier in a panic.

With a deafening roar, the energy barrier trembled violently, revealing a small crack. "That's it!" I exclaimed with delight, directing the firebird to continue attacking the crack.

"Crack!" The crack widened until finally, the entire barrier shattered. "We did it!" Su Yao cheered excitedly, her eyes filled with joy.

I turned to look at her, and our eyes met... In the distance, the figure of the Thunder Beastmaster was getting closer and closer... Su Yao's cheers were like a warm current flowing into my heart, and my tired body seemed to be injected with new strength.

I turned to look at her, and amidst the swirling dust, her bright smile was like sunlight breaking through the gloom. Our eyes met, and without a word, trust and love filled each other's gazes.

At that moment, my resolve to protect her strengthened, no matter how many difficulties and obstacles lay ahead. But this brief moment of tenderness was quickly shattered by the roar of the Thunder Beastmaster.

A massive thunder eagle descended from the sky, its wingspan blotting out the sun. Its sharp eyes stared intently at us, and it let out a deafening cry.

"It seems he's not planning to let us off easily." I took a deep breath and shielded Su Yao behind me. "Little Gold, Firebird, prepare for battle!"

The appearance of the Thunder Eagle instantly heightened the tension. The Thunder Beastmaster's previous beasts were already powerful enough; now, with the addition of this Thunder Eagle, our chances of victory are virtually nonexistent.

The Thunder Eagle attacks with incredible speed, its sharp claws crackling with lightning power, making each attack a perilous one for us.

Although Xiao Jin's defenses were sturdy, they were gradually becoming unable to withstand such a fierce attack.

Firebird's fire attack is somewhat effective against Thunderhawk, but Thunderhawk is too fast, making it difficult for Firebird to hit it.
