Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 117 First Battle Victory, Fame Gradually Spreads

The referee's whistle shattered the arena's clamor, and the match officially began. Kross's lips curled into a disdainful smile as he patted the Balrog beside him.

The colossal creature roared to the sky, spewing forth scorching flames that distorted the air. A cheer erupted from the stands; clearly, Cross's entrance alone was enough to awe everyone.

My palms were slightly sweaty, but my heart was unusually calm.

Su Yao whispered beside me, "Calm down, proceed according to plan."

I nodded, my gaze fixed on the Balrog. Although its flames were terrifying, its movement speed was relatively slow, which was our breakthrough point.

"Su Yao, Wind Leopard, get ready!" I commanded in a deep voice.

Su Yao understood immediately, and a bright white light flowed around her, instantly merging with the Wind Spirit Leopard.

The Wind Spirit Leopard was already incredibly fast, but now it was as fast as lightning, leaving a trail of afterimages in the arena.

Cross was clearly surprised by our speed. He shouted orders for the Balrog to attack, but the Wind Spirit Leopard always managed to dodge the flames at the last second.

After several rounds, the Balrog's attacks all missed, and it actually consumed a lot of energy.

"Now!" I seized the opportunity and shouted, pointing at the Flame Demon's abdomen, "Wind Blade Slash!" Su Yao and the Wind Spirit Leopard merged into one, and a sharp wind blade condensed and took shape, striking the Flame Demon's abdomen with a sharp whistling sound.

That was exactly where Ellie had told me about the Balrog's weakness; its defenses were relatively weak. "Boom!" The wind blade slammed into the Balrog's abdomen, producing a loud bang.

The Balrog let out a painful roar, its massive body staggering backward, a deep wound appearing in its abdomen.

The audience fell silent for a moment, then erupted in deafening gasps.

Cross's face also turned extremely ugly. He never expected that I could injure his Flame Demon in such a short time.

I took a deep breath and pressed my advantage, "Wind Spirit Leopard, keep attacking!" The Wind Spirit Leopard once again transformed into a blur, launching a fierce attack around the Flame Demon.

Cross kept issuing commands in an attempt to turn the tide, but the Flame Demon's speed had clearly slowed down, making it impossible to defend effectively.

"Damn it!" Cross slammed his fist on the ground, a fierce glint in his eyes.

He suddenly raised his right hand and shouted, "Fire Demon, Explosive Flames!"

My heart skipped a beat. This move was far more powerful than the previous attacks. If I tried to withstand it head-on, the Wind Spirit Leopard would likely be injured.

"Su Yao, come back!" I called out hurriedly... Upon hearing this, Su Yao immediately broke free from her fused state with the Wind Spirit Leopard and rushed towards me.

Almost at the same time she returned, the Balrog spewed out a huge fireball, carrying a destructive aura, and roared towards my direction.

My heart sank. The range of the exploding flames was too wide; I simply couldn't completely dodge them.

At the critical moment, I pushed the power of beast taming within me to its limit and established a connection with my beast—the mountain giant ape.

A powerful force surged into my body, and I felt my muscles swell and my bones crackle.

I roared and crossed my arms in front of me, taking the brunt of the exploding flames.

The scorching flames burned my skin, and the intense pain made me groan involuntarily.

I felt as if my body was about to melt, but my will remained unwavering. I cannot fall; I must continue fighting!

Off the field, Su Yao clenched her fists nervously and called out my name loudly: "Nong Yu! Nong Yu!" Her voice was full of worry and anxiety, but it also gave me great strength.

I heard her voice, and a warm feeling welled up inside me. My body felt as if it were filled with strength. I gritted my teeth and withstood the impact of the exploding flames.

As the flames subsided, I was charred black and my clothes were tattered, but my body remained standing.

I raised my head, my gaze fixed firmly on Cross, a cold smile playing on my lips: "Is this all you've got? You've disappointed me greatly!"

Cross's face turned ashen; he hadn't expected me to withstand his explosive flames. Enraged, he disregarded the rules of the match and once again commanded the Balrog to attack.

"Flame Demon, kill him!" Cross roared hysterically.

The Balrog let out a deafening roar and charged at me again. I took a deep breath, a glint of light flashing in my eyes.

"Mountain Giant Ape, prepare for battle!" I said in a deep voice.

I was of one mind with the mountain ape, and its massive body appeared beside me, letting out a deafening roar. It swung its enormous fists and charged at the fire demon.

The collision of the two behemoths was like a landslide, causing the entire arena to tremble violently.

After a fierce battle, the Mountain Giant Ape, with its immense strength and my command, finally defeated the Flame Demon. Cross was deathly pale; he had lost, utterly and completely.

I slowly walked up to Cross, looked down at him, and said coldly, "You lost."

Cross gritted his teeth and remained silent. The head referee walked up to me, his expression somewhat complicated.

He looked at me, then at Cross, and finally declared me the winner. I won! I defeated Cross!

Thunderous applause and cheers erupted from the stands, and my name echoed throughout the arena. I took a deep breath, savoring the joy of victory.

I know this is just the beginning, and I have a long road ahead of me. The next match is about to begin, and I step off the arena to prepare for new challenges.

The opponent's information was handed to me. I opened it and frowned slightly.

"Shadow Cheetah... a beast that can hide in the shadows..." I muttered to myself. A chilling aura seemed to emanate from behind me...
