A little while later, Peng Yuxian arrived in a hurry. As soon as he entered the private room, he said, "I'm sorry I'm late."

Geng Miaowan ignored him, staring at the menu as if studying the dishes. "I've already ordered a few dishes. Take a look and order whatever else you'd like."

Peng Yuxian didn't care about her attitude. After coming in, he sat down in the seat opposite her. "I thought that if I wanted to see you in the future, I would have to kidnap you."

Geng Miaowan thought to herself, "Why doesn't he just say he didn't expect her to accept his invitation? Why play these word games?"

Just then, the dishes arrived, and she began to eat slowly and deliberately. She had a premonition that if she asked about the mummified corpse first, she would definitely not be able to finish her meal.

Peng Yuxian didn't order any food or say anything; he just sat there watching her eat, making even someone as thick-skinned as Geng Miaowan feel a little embarrassed. She glared at him, but couldn't think of anything to say, so she put a piece of food in his bowl and said, "You eat too."

Peng Yuxian looked at her and said cryptically, "She's a feast for the eyes."

Geng Miaowan felt a chill creep up her spine. She suddenly wondered if he looked at her the way she looked at the food on the table. She felt unwell all over, and the scabbed wound on her neck seemed to throb again, reminding her that the person in front of her was a true bloodthirsty man.

Fortunately, after he finished speaking, he lowered his head, picked up the food she had given him, and ate it.

Geng Miaowan thought that letting him eat would quiet him down and keep his eyes off her, but she clearly misjudged him. He continued eating while staring at her, as if he weren't chewing food, but her, her skin, her blood…

His aggressive gaze made her uneasy. As a result, she kept piling food onto his plate, while he ate and stared intently. In the end, most of the food she ordered ended up in his stomach.

Finally, Peng Yuxian rubbed his slightly bloated belly and said, "This is probably the most filling meal I've had in all these years."

"Didn't that woman feed you enough yesterday?"

He looked up. Something flashed in his beautiful eyes, and although the playful smile still lingered on his lips, it sent a chill down one's spine. "What do you mean by that?"

Geng Miaowan unconsciously leaned back until her back was against the chair. To be honest, because of that incident where she was sucked blood, she was genuinely afraid of him. She swallowed hard, suppressing the urge to back down, "That mummified corpse on the news this morning, wasn't it you who made it?"

“He told you,” he said with almost certainty.

Although Peng Yuxian didn't say who he was, Geng Miaowan knew he was referring to Qiu Pi. She looked at the somewhat empty plate in front of her, wondering whether she should admit it or deny it. On the plate, a drop of oil spread across the soup, like a beautiful flower blooming.

However, she didn't realize that her lack of immediate denial was a clear indirect admission of his suspicions. Peng Yuxian's amused expression deepened. "So you believe him."

It was an absolutely certain tone.

For a fleeting moment, Geng Miaowan thought she saw a glimpse of vulnerability and self-mockery on his face, but it vanished before she could get a better look. She thought she must have been mistaken, but she decided to tell the truth anyway, "Qiu Pi didn't say that." She held the cup in front of her with both hands, and through it, she saw his pointed chin. "He only said it was made by the Scarlet of the Silver Alliance."

Peng Yuxian gave a cold snort, "He really dares to say that."

"Why wouldn't you dare say it? You're capable of doing it. Are you afraid of what others will say?" Geng Miaowan realized she might be getting a little too emotional. She took a sip of water and put the cup back on the table. "However, I think you did it."

"He's the same kind of person as me, why don't you suspect him?"

"He told me he never drinks the blood of living people."

"You believe him just because he says so?" Peng Yuxian slammed his arm on the table, staring at her sharply. "Then I can also say that I never drink the blood of living people."

"I don't believe it!" Geng Miaowan retorted without even thinking.

"Why?"

Geng Miaowan met his eyes and said coldly, "Just because you drank my blood."

Looking at the certainty in her eyes, Peng Yuxian felt a lump in his throat, unable to rise or fall, making him feel suffocated. He chuckled softly, "How do you know he kept you around not as a backup plan?"

"I only believe what I see."

When Geng Miaowan said this, her eyes were extremely firm.

"Since you know I'll suck your blood, why did you come?" Peng Yuxian said the first part while still sitting calmly opposite her, but the second part came from behind her. The next second, she was already in his arms.

He embraced her from behind, his face pressed intimately against her neck.

Geng Miaowan felt goosebumps starting from where his breath landed and spreading all over her body. She never expected him to attack so suddenly.

However, she wouldn't just sit idly by and wait to die.

She kicked the table with both feet, and she and the chair crashed into Peng Yuxian behind her. Using the momentum, she slid down and slipped out like an eel through the gap between Peng Yuxian's arm and the back of the chair.

Looking at Geng Miaowan, who wished she could disappear a hundred thousand miles away from him, Peng Yuxian's lips curled into that playful smile again; he seemed quite used to making this gesture.

He didn't continue attacking her!

Geng Miaowan looked at him in surprise, but he merely raised an eyebrow. "What, are you disappointed that I didn't drink your blood?"

Geng Miaowan pursed her lips, wondering how he managed to say exactly what she was thinking every time.

Peng Yuxian chuckled softly, about to say something more, when suddenly his expression changed, and he quickly ran towards the door. Geng Miaowan, confused, hesitated for a moment before following him out. She saw him on the roadside not far from the restaurant; from a distance, she saw Peng Yuxian leaning against a wall, vomiting.

"What's wrong?" she asked, looking at him. (To be continued.)
