Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2

Chapter 67 A Slap in the Face

I never imagined I would fall into yogurt. Luckily, Dafu found a strand of hair to save me.

But just then the little girl came back. She was tired from playing and came back to drink yogurt, and in one gulp she sucked me in.

I desperately choked the little girl so that she wouldn't swallow it all at once.

The little girl vomited it all out, and her family rushed over immediately.

"What's going on? I told you not to eat so many snacks, and look at you, you've even thrown up!" the child's parent said angrily.

He quickly grabbed some toilet paper, wiped the girl's mouth, and then threw it directly onto the vomit.

"You're not allowed to eat so many snacks anymore." After saying that, he pulled the little girl outside.

Then the parent went to the back, and when they came back, they had a shovel full of carbon ash.

Let me explain what carbon ash is. Carbon ash is the ash that forms after the firewood has burned out when cooking with firewood in rural areas.

In rural areas, if children defecate or vomit on the ground, sprinkling charcoal ash on the ground makes it easier to clean up, because the charcoal ash will surround the substance, making it much easier to clean.

Now that adult is walking towards me with a handful of charcoal ash. I'm desperately trying to escape, but no matter how I move, I can't move at all.

I just watched helplessly as the ash poured down on me, and instantly everything went dark.

I couldn't see anything, and even my nose and mouth could taste a bitter charcoal ash.

Only now do I realize that charcoal ash tastes bitter?

I desperately wanted to rush out of that charcoal ash; if I stayed any longer, I suspected I would be disgusted to death.

The ash wasn't all bad; at least it wiped away all the yogurt and vomit on me. I had to prick myself with needles like crazy to finally get out of the ash.

The air outside was so fresh, so incredibly fresh. After rushing out, I took several deep breaths, feeling as if I had been reborn.

But before I could fully savor the joy of seeing the light of day again, a large broom suddenly swept towards me.

In an instant, I was buried in that pile of ash again, and then swept into a dustpan.

Then the man took the winnowing basket and led me directly towards the vegetable garden not far from the house.

They threw me into the vegetable garden like I was fertilizer, and I fell from the sky to the ground like trash.

What have I been through today? Why am I so unlucky? Is this something a fly like me should experience? I'm almost in tears.

I was so frustrated that I struggled my way out of the charcoal ash. All I wanted to do now was find a place to take a shower and wash away this damn mess.

Good vegetable gardens usually have drainage ditches, and since it rained a few days ago, there are still a few puddles with water in them.

I immediately rushed into the water. No matter what, I needed to wash these things off myself first, otherwise I would feel really disgusted.

After I got out of the water, I couldn't think straight for a while, so I decided to climb out and leave first.

Besides, that big fortune was knocked away by that little girl, I wonder what happened to it? I hope nothing bad has happened to it.

As I climbed toward the house, I worried that Dafu might have been beaten to death.

I can only crawl now. The water is still on my wings, so I can't fly even if I wanted to. I just hope that crawling will dry the water faster.

Halfway up the trail, I finally felt the water on my body dry, so I immediately flew towards where the big fortune had fallen.

When I flew over there, I didn't see Dafu anywhere. Could it be? I remember shooting Dafu in this direction.

How could it have disappeared? That's really strange.

I searched the ground carefully again, but still couldn't find any trace of Dafu. Could it be that Dafu got better and left?

That shouldn't be the case. If Dafu woke up, he would come looking for me right away. Why did he run away on his own?

I landed on the ground and started searching anxiously. I refused to believe I couldn't find it.

"Dafu, Dafu, are you there?" I called out anxiously.

But all I got in response was silence; Dafu seemed to have vanished right there.

"Dafu, where are you? We've gone to watch the flying competition," I called out anxiously.

But to my disappointment, there was still no good response, no sound at all. It was as if Dafu had really disappeared.

How could this be? It's clearly right here.

I continued searching. Could this giant rabbit have been eaten by the white-clad rat that came out looking for food?

But mice shouldn't be out during the day, right? I still held onto a sliver of hope and continued my search.

"Twenty-two cents." Just when I was about to give up, I suddenly heard a faint voice.

"Dafu, are you there?" I called out loudly.

"One cent and two cents, I'm here. Here..." The voice was very weak, but it was definitely Dafu's voice.

"Where are you? I can't find you anywhere!" I called out anxiously. Why can't I see you?

"Here." The weak voice came again.

"Oh, there." I followed the sound slowly.

"Here." The voice rang out again.

I looked toward where the sound was coming from, and there was a mop. In rural areas, to save money, people usually make mops by cutting up old clothes into strips.

And now there's a mop in front of me, and Dafu's voice is coming from inside that mop. I'm very puzzled as I stare at the mop.

"Dafu, where are you?" I called out, puzzled.

"I'm here," Dafu's voice came from inside the mop.

That's it, Dafu is inside that mop. I looked closely into the mop and sure enough, Dafu was inside, tangled in hair, upside down and trapped inside. He looked extremely uncomfortable.

"How did you get here?" I asked hurriedly.

"That human slapped me, and then I got tangled in this mop with his hair," Dafu said, sounding quite aggrieved.

I was both amused and exasperated when I saw this. What kind of situation is this? I was so worried about it.

Seeing Dafu's disheveled state, I quickly went to help him untangle his hair and rescue him...
