After rescuing Dafu, I thought that once we reached the ant nest, we would have plenty of food, and then we could just wait for the right time to deal with the flies.

But we encountered trouble on our way to the nest. While we were climbing, we met a few mischievous kids who were going to stay up all night.

Those damned brats actually started a wildfire on the way, right above our heads. If that fire had happened, we would have been burned alive in an instant.

Faced with the sudden burst of flames, I was completely dumbfounded. How could we possibly run? How could we, tiny maggots, possibly outrun that fire?

Even if they weren't burned to death, the heat of the fire would still scorch them to death.

"Is there any other way? We've encountered so many dangers and overcome so many hardships along the way, and in the end, we never expected to be burned to death by a wildfire set by a few naughty kids. Maybe it's fate," I said, feeling quite depressed.

"What is destiny? Is it delicious?" Dafu asked curiously.

Just when we were pessimistically waiting to die, suddenly a crack appeared in the ground, and then four earthworms appeared in front of me.

Dafu and I jumped in immediately. No matter what, escaping was the most important thing right now.

Finally, it fell into a pitch-black hole, and after a short while, the four earthworms slowly crawled in.

I was overjoyed to see these four earthworms again. They were none other than the same earthworm I had seen before.

That's right, it's an earthworm. I'm sure everyone knows what an earthworm is. Even if it's cut in two, it will become a brand new earthworm and continue to live.

"We're earthworms, where else would we go if not here?" one of the earthworms said casually.

"Okay, never mind. So how did you know we were up there?" I asked curiously again.

“We didn’t know you were up there,” one of the earthworms replied.

"You didn't know we were up there? Why does it look like you came up to rescue us?" I asked, quite curiously.

"We had arranged to meet a wooden earthworm up there, but when we went up, we only saw you guys. We didn't meet the mother earthworm, but we met you guys instead," one of the earthworms said casually.

Holy crap, turns out it was a midnight date. Instead of running into that female earthworm, we ran into her. I really don't know whether to be happy or upset.

But no matter what, we've survived, so it was a close call.

"But is your girlfriend alright? Aren't you worried?" Dafu asked with great concern.

"It's okay, she'd just burrow and escape in that situation. We can always reschedule," one of the earthworms said casually.

“That’s right, that’s right,” the other three earthworms chimed in, agreeing wholeheartedly.

I suddenly felt three black lines appear on my forehead. What kind of earthworms are these?

But it's okay.

In any case, they were saved by these four earthworms. It's just unknown when they will be able to return to normal and have their own thoughts.

"Since you're not looking for us, we'll continue our journey after the fire stops," I said, glancing at the situation above.

Wild grass isn't wood or anything like that. Although it burns quickly, it also goes out quickly, almost in just a few minutes. So after we chatted for a while, things basically stopped up there.

After one of the earthworms finished speaking, the remaining three immediately nodded in agreement.
