Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!
Chapter 104 The Law of Love
The mechanical sound was particularly familiar; Adrian had only recently come into contact with the source of the sound.
It was a round, pink system.
Adrian gripped the small red tag in his shirt pocket. The numbers on the tag jumped, and the energy fluctuation reached its peak once again.
To live a life of ignominy...
Adrian stepped forward, walked up to Maurice, and said, "I'll go first."
Morris glanced around, then followed Adrian without saying a word.
The cemetery corridor was dark, and a cold air permeated it. Adrian treaded lightly, listening to the intermittent sounds coming from within, and turned the first corner.
After several click-clack sounds, the noise inside grew louder and louder. Adrian frowned and listened for a while, only to find that he could only hear the mechanical sounds of the pink ball; he had not yet heard any answer about surviving.
Adrian had arrived outside the cave where another coffin was placed.
The massive stone gate opened slightly, and Adrian gestured to Maurice before crouching down to peer inside through the crack.
The interior of the cave was unexpectedly much brighter than the outside. The air inside was chilly, and Adrian, crouching by the entrance, felt the cold rushing towards him even through the small cracks in the ventilation.
A crystal coffin is placed in the center of the grotto.
This is a crystal coffin that the current Insect Emperor spent several years crafting. Its exterior is made of black crystal, which is extremely rare within the Insectoid territory, and it is inlaid with forty-seven imperial red diamonds, symbolizing royal glory.
Rumor has it that a single red diamond is worth hundreds of desolate stars for the Zerg.
"Crack!"
Another crisp cracking sound rang out. A pink sphere landed on the crystal coffin, pulling at the ruby in the very center of the coffin's surface. Electric currents continuously emanated from it, and it actually managed to pry the ruby out of the coffin.
[Crush! How about this ruby? It's as red as you, a perfect match for you!]
As Pink Ball spoke, it placed the ruby on the head of the round ball next to it.
[Beautiful!]
Adrian: "..."
He shifted his gaze to the pink ball.
The other pure red sphere already has four or five identical rubies, but those rubies were not intact when they were dug out, with cracks or broken off in half.
The red ball is missing its data panel; instead, it has only a circle of unreadable English letters spinning around it.
Adrian recognized it at a glance.
The creature, barely clinging to life, shook off the rubies from the ball and floated upwards, saying unhappily, "I don't like these rubies, you don't need to give them to me."
[So what do you like?]
The pink ball followed the path of the hapless survivor, its body accumulating hearts that eventually coalesced into a beating heart shape.
[I can give you anything.]
The thought of merely surviving felt utterly baffling: "I don't like anything, you don't need to give me anything, and don't follow me."
[Why? Crush, although my energy is low right now, I've saved up a little. I can give it all to you.]
"Give it all to me?" The creature, barely clinging to life, turned its body uncertainly. "Won't you die if you do that?"
All systems rely on a fixed amount of energy to operate. The higher the energy, the stronger the consciousness, and the greater their power will be. Conversely, the lower the energy, the more difficult it will be for the system to function, and eventually it will break down.
The heart on the pink ball was still pulsating, it didn't care at all: "Crush, I'd die for you willingly."
"..."
It drifted to the side, barely surviving, and after a few seconds of silence, said, "I don't want to."
One of its purposes in coming to this world was indeed to seize the energy of the original system in order to maintain its own system's operation.
But this pink ball is smaller than it, so its accumulated energy must be very low. And now it seems to be deliberately using all its energy to survive, which makes its motives questionable.
Pinkball was still trying to sell its energy to Gouqietousheng, who wandered around the cemetery a few times before suddenly sensing another familiar aura.
It steadied itself and, through the gap in the stone door, saw Adrian raise the small red sign in his hand towards him.
The man, barely clinging to life, flashed a red light: "I don't want to stay here anymore. Is there a moon tonight?"
The pink ball is shy.
Do you want to watch the moon with me?
To live a life of ignominy: "..."
It didn't speak again, but passed directly through the crack in the stone wall and escaped from the inner space of the cemetery. The numbers on the pink ball fluctuated, and just as it was about to follow, its warning device lit up.
There are dangerous creatures nearby.
The pink creature hovered in the air, using its energy to scan its surroundings and vaguely sensing several approaching forces. They were all Zerg, not any other system.
[Um……]
Pink hesitated in mid-air for a few seconds.
The purpose of these insectoid creatures' arrival is unclear, and they may pose a threat to their host. However, it has already been out there for some time, and given its flight speed, it will soon be out of Pink's perception range.
That way, it will be difficult to see it again next time.
[Crush!]
The pink ball quickly made its decision. Its love level jumped rapidly, and it squeezed out of the crevice in the stone wall in the direction of its desperate escape.
The host doesn't matter, love is the most important!
Adrian watched as the two balls left the cave one after the other, and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
The pink ball did not conflict with the life of the dead, nor did it intend to harm it. In fact, the pink ball could be said to be under the control of the life of the dead.
This at least shows that the current situation of merely surviving is still relatively good.
Morris couldn't see inside. He scanned the cemetery several times; apart from a crystal coffin, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. Yet Adrian remained crouched before the stone door, frowning in thought.
Morris paused for a moment, then asked, "My lord, what's inside?"
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Adrian stood up, estimated the time, and said, “Let’s go inside.”
Morris pushed open the stone door, and the two insects entered the cave, heading directly towards the crystal coffin placed inside.
Adrian had already seen the crystal coffin from afar at the entrance, but now that he was closer, he realized that the structure inside was far more exquisite than he had seen before.
The royal eye pattern of Mulihera is carved on the surface of the coffin, and the totem pattern that extends downwards is similar to the insect pattern on the back of Maurice's neck, which is also the pattern of the Reshirobia flower.
Adrian involuntarily took two steps forward. The coffin, made of black crystal, was as black as ink, with occasional shimmering patterns of light. Like a transparent mirror, it reflected Adrian's face from one side.
