Xue'ang's gaze lingered on Eros for a long time before slowly shifting away: "You are Eros?"

"Yes, Colonel."

Xue Ang nodded: "I've heard of you before, the new intern military mechanic."

"It's an honor, sir."

Xueang led Eros and Lan to the outside of the conference room, and then pushed the door open to report: "General, the two insects who discovered the male insect offspring have arrived."

The conference room door opened, and Eros saw a tall, imposing female insect standing inside. Her long black hair stood up high, and her dignified and formal high-ranking military officer uniform confirmed to Eros that this was the female insect they were to meet today.

General Rand had just finished a call, his brow furrowed, clearly indicating the communication hadn't brought good news. Hearing Xue'ang's report, his brow didn't relax; he irritably adjusted his cap and said coldly:

The female officer's voice was deep and cold, giving the insects a sense of distance that made them difficult to approach.

"Yes." Xue Ang nodded, turned around and made way for the two female insects behind him.

For some reason, Eros felt that Xueang's gaze kept lingering on him, and that it carried a hint of unspoken worry.

"Eros, a field intern from the Sixth Star System Military Headquarters, greets General Rand." As a field intern in the military, Eros should first salute the highest-ranking officer in his department.

Upon hearing Eros's voice, Rand paused in his act of adjusting his hat, his cold expression froze, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes: "It's you?!"

Eros recounted how he received the assembly order, encountered the meteor shower on his way to the military headquarters, and then discovered Lan and the male insect cub.

There was nothing important information. Judging from Rand's expression, he seemed a little listless. After Eros finished speaking, both he and Rand's gazes fell on Lan, who was sitting to the side.
