EROS [Zerg]

In Chapter 127, he said, "Life is precious."

It's so true.

Xue'ang's gaze lingered on Eros for a long time before slowly shifting away: "You are Eros?"

"Yes, Colonel."

Xue Ang nodded: "I've heard of you before, the new intern military mechanic."

"It's an honor, sir."

Xueang led Eros and Lan to the outside of the conference room, and then pushed the door open to report: "General, the two insects who discovered the male insect offspring have arrived."

The conference room door opened, and Eros saw a tall, imposing female insect standing inside. Her long black hair stood up high, and her dignified and formal high-ranking military officer uniform confirmed to Eros that this was the female insect they were to meet today.

General Rand had just finished a call, his brow furrowed, clearly indicating the communication hadn't brought good news. Hearing Xue'ang's report, his brow didn't relax; he irritably adjusted his cap and said coldly:

"Bring them in."

The female officer's voice was deep and cold, giving the insects a sense of distance that made them difficult to approach.

"Yes." Xue Ang nodded, turned around and made way for the two female insects behind him.

For some reason, Eros felt that Xueang's gaze kept lingering on him, and that it carried a hint of unspoken worry.

"Eros, a field intern from the Sixth Star System Military Headquarters, greets General Rand." As a field intern in the military, Eros should first salute the highest-ranking officer in his department.

Upon hearing Eros's voice, Rand paused in his act of adjusting his hat, his cold expression froze, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes: "It's you?!"

Eros was taken aback, startled by the general's outburst: "General... have you seen me before?"

"..."

Rand lowered his arm to hide his embarrassment and tried to calm himself down: "I've heard of you, Eros."

Then, as if still not quite satisfied, she added, "You look just like him."

Eros was somewhat embarrassed, but had to respond with a forced smile, "General..."

Before Eros could finish speaking, he heard the general's cold voice in his ear:

"You'd better always be Eros."

Eros was somewhat taken aback, not understanding what Admiral Rand meant by his warning, but he could clearly sense Admiral Rand's hostility.

The inexplicable hostility infuriated Eros, but considering that the female insect in front of him was the highest-ranking commander in the Sixth Star System's military, he could only suppress his anger and put on that fake innocence he once had, giving a fake, naive smile: "Of course I will always be Eros."

Rand clearly hadn't expected Eros to react this way; he imagined the other's reaction would be anger, perhaps mixed with a cowardly reluctance to speak out.

But of course, Rand couldn't reveal his true thoughts.

"sit down."

Rand gestured for Eros and Lan to sit down together. "I'll try to keep it brief. This concerns the male prince, and the Imperial Main Star takes it very seriously, so there are some things we need to clarify."

"The rescue team's rescue of this S+ level male insect offspring has already shaken the entire empire. Soon His Majesty the Insect Emperor will send troops to pick up this gentleman."

"Rescuing a male insect offspring is certainly a good thing, but as female soldiers of the Empire, we must remain vigilant in our attitude towards male insects."

"Why did this male insect offspring appear on the Blue Star Pirates' spaceship, especially a rare S+ class male insect offspring? Could all of this be a conspiracy by the Blue Star Pirates? These are things we need to figure out."

Upon hearing the word "conspiracy," both Eros and Lan's expressions changed.

“I want you to tell me everything you know, without holding anything back,” Rand said, looking at the two female insects in front of him.

Eros recounted how he received the assembly order, encountered the meteor shower on his way to the military headquarters, and then discovered Lan and the male insect cub.

There was nothing important information. Judging from Rand's expression, he seemed a little listless. After Eros finished speaking, both he and Rand's gazes fell on Lan, who was sitting to the side.

Rand looked at Lan's grave expression and asked scrutinizingly, "Before you speak, I want to know, as a female insect that once lived in the Fourth Star System, why did you end up on that spaceship stolen by Blue Star?"

As a female slave, Lan had never been to the military before. After graduating from military academy, he was given away as a gift by his male father to other male insects as a female slave. When he was put on the suppressor, he never thought that he would be able to enter the military one day.

Lan had high hopes for this place, so he didn't feel uneasy or afraid when facing General Rand's purposeful scrutiny. Lan sorted out his thoughts and slowly recounted in detail how he was sold to a smuggling merchant ship by the Xiongzhu, how he was taken to the Blue Star Pirates' base, what he encountered there, what he saw, and how he escaped.

"As for that young man..." Lan frowned at this point, "I happened to meet him on my way out... and then I ran away with him."

"Just a chance encounter?" A hint of distrust flashed across Rand's face. Did this female insect think that male insects were like melons in a melon patch, something you could just stumble upon anywhere? And a male insect of S+ rank at that?

"...It was a chance encounter." Lan nodded, unwilling to explain further.

“Alright, I understand the details. Eros, you should go back to the military headquarters with Eugene. As for you…” Rand’s gaze fell on the female insect Lan: “I will arrange accommodation for you, and then we will discuss your future.”

"My fate?" Upon hearing Rand's voice, Lan tensed up immediately: "Can't I just go back?"

Rand glanced at him coldly. "Of course not. Before the male insect offspring are successfully transferred to the main planet, you must remain at the military headquarters to undergo a series of examinations."

A few beads of sweat appeared on Lan's forehead, and she pursed her pale lips: "Sir, is there anything else I need to be checked?"

Eros looked at Rand with a puzzled expression, but the general did not give him a chance to listen in. He turned to his subordinates behind him and said, "Xue'ang, take him out."

Eros "..."

After Eros left with Xueang, Rand turned his gaze back to Lan, picked up a stack of documents from the bookshelf, and interrogated him: "You and Eros have a good relationship?"

Lan was taken aback, not understanding why Rand asked that question, and then shook her head: "It's not good."

“You’ve never been honest.” Rand’s expression turned cold.

"I did not lie."

Rand gave a cold laugh and tossed the document in his hand to Lan's paw: "If seven parts truth and three parts falsehood are still considered truth."

"If your relationship isn't particularly good, would he cover the cost of your genetic testing?"

Lan looked at the documents on the table with a puzzled expression. When she saw a receipt for 100,000 star coins tucked inside, a strange emotion appeared on her face.

"Why did he..."
