The elevator hummed as it descended to the first floor, and Sienna took the opportunity to take out her phone to check it.

The elevator stopped briefly on the third floor, and two young men entered.

However, they only looked her over for a while and did not speak to her or Teddy directly.

So Sienna happily continued checking her text messages, ignoring them.

There was a text message from Meraton asking her to meet him at the parking lot next to the campus park.

They quickly reached the first floor and left the dormitory a moment later.

“If I always had to walk this much, my body would definitely become great,” Sienna said.

Teddy looked her up and down like the two boys in the elevator, and said, "That's not a good idea."

"If you want to find a good mate, you need to have healthy hair and plenty of fat reserves."

She patted her belly, "Just like mine."

Sienna almost tripped over her own foot, but managed to steady herself.

“Teddy, you…you’re not looking for a boyfriend, are you?” Sienna asked.

This raises a whole host of questions.

Sienna has always let Teddy, and now Athena, act according to their own ideas, but she has never thought about how much they know about... matters between the sexes.

She still vividly remembers the embarrassment her mother felt when explaining these things to her; just thinking about having to explain them herself felt like a nightmare.

"What? No way. Boys are so annoying."

“Yes,” Sienna immediately chimed in, “Yes, boys are really annoying. You absolutely mustn’t let them touch you, okay?”

We escaped disaster!

I'd say that's about right.

“Okay, boss,” Teddy replied.

Sienna felt she was being a little unfair.

She had already secretly admired some of the boys in her class, and she had even imagined them.

If I become more charming, less clumsy, and less socially awkward, maybe I can develop a relationship with them.

However, in her opinion, her two younger sisters can wait until they are in their thirties to worry about these things.

Before long, they arrived at the park. Sienna seemed preoccupied the whole way, and the journey felt quite short.

She looked around the parking lot for about a minute and then saw Meraton parked on one side in a red sports car.

She was already in her uniform, and if it weren't for the fact that there weren't many people in the park despite it being the weekend, Sienna estimated that there would already be a lot of people staring at her.

Sienna pulled Teddy toward a restroom a little further away. "Let's change quickly," she said.

Changing clothes was easy for Teddy. She took a mask out of her hoodie pocket, then took off the hoodie, and that was it.

Sienna had to use her agility in the cramped cubicle, while trying not to touch anything.

Hopping on one foot, she pulled on her tights while avoiding some kind of stain, which made her quite envious of the bear she had summoned.

They stuffed their clothes into Sienna's backpack, and then, not wanting to leave the backpack behind, they put the bag on Teddy's back before leaving.

As they approached, Meraton looked up. "You've finally arrived."

Sienna knew perfectly well that they had arrived at least ten minutes early, but she didn’t argue.

"Sorry, we need to change our clothes."

"It's mainly because the boss takes a lot of time. I could have just walked around in bear form, but that would have scared too many people. The boss wants us to act like heroes."

“Hmm,” Meraton said, giving the car a thumbs-up. “Get in.”

Without saying a word, Teddy jumped onto the back seat and bounced a few times.

Sienna climbed into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt. "Teddy, could you fasten your seatbelt?"

“I don’t want to tie it,” Teddy said.

“You’d better listen to your boss,” Meraton said. “The police take this kind of thing very seriously.”

Even if you get hit in the face by a tank shell and emerge unscathed, just a little disheveled, they'll still fine you for not wearing a seatbelt.

Teddy frowned. "What will you be punished for? Money?"

"of course."

“I dare say these seatbelts are a capitalist conspiracy,” Teddy said.

Meraton turned around, put his arm on the back of the chair, and stared back at Teddy.

"Fasten your seatbelt, or I'll let you take a nap and then have your boss buckle it for you."

Teddy pouted, but still did as he was told.

She kept muttering about the oppression of the proletariat, but she still fastened her seatbelt.

"So, um, where are we going?" Sienna asked.

The night before, she did a quick search on the "Writing Network" and found that many people knew about the event.

However, there is no specific information about where the event will be held or who will participate.

"First, we need to go to the headquarters of the Human Resource Center (HRF)."

O'Clair's headquarters was the smallest in the area, but they still had several hidden entrances.

After all, they need to find a way to prove that their budget was well spent.

“Okay,” Sienna replied.

"In other words, you'll meet other people in some boring conference room, and someone will explain the rules to you and so on."

Then one or two people—arranged by the government—will show you around the city. There might even be vans to pick you up and drop you off, so the activity can reach a wider area.

“It doesn’t sound too bad,” Sienna said.

She can manage just a simple stroll around the city.

no problem.

Everything will be fine.

She wanted to go home.

"Are you alright, boss?" Teddy asked.

Sienna swallowed, reminding herself she wasn't alone, then nodded. "I'm fine," she said.

With Teddy by her side, although... it's not quite the same as having her mother, it's still quite similar; he's someone she can rely on.

She knew in her heart that she was relying on a teenage, communist-believing bear girl, but she put that thought aside.

"You'll meet a lot of really interesting people. Most of them should be around your age."

'Superpower Day' events are typically aimed at young people.

The girl behind you is probably the youngest one there.

"Some people are older too." Meraton said as he overtook a car at a potentially unsafe speed.

“Oh, okay,” Sienna said, wondering if it was too late to back out now.

"The government will keep trying to recruit you. Oh dear, those companies might even try to push you toward the government."

“Huh?” Sienna asked.

"Yes, because the heroes at the Human Resources Center (HRF) don't do much public relations."

They receive a salary as long as they serve in the military, and their retirement benefits are also quite good.

And the heroes under the company's banner have to showcase themselves in front of the public.

So if you join the government's side, you won't be competing with them for attention.

“Oh,” Sienna said, this was far more cruel than she had imagined. “I see. What about the others?”

"Actually, besides you, I don't know if there are any other independent superpowered individuals."

I used some connections to get you in there, and of course, I also received quite a bit of benefit from those connections.

“I… don’t quite understand,” Sienna said.

Meraton smiled at her. "Don't worry, you'll understand in time."
