The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Athena was not like her much older but much dumber bear sister; she was extremely clever.

At least, she considered herself very smart, and given that she was the smartest person she knew, that must have some weight.

That's why she didn't slip out of the room until a full fifteen minutes after her older sister Sienna left.

She even made a little contraption with a piece of paper and some tape to make sure the door wouldn't lock behind her.

She didn't mess it up this time.

Of course, now is the time for someone to take advantage of the situation and steal things from Sienna's room.

However, if someone actually does that, they'll have to face her and Teddy's wrath.

Athena made a point of dressing herself neatly and appropriately, wearing a shirt and skirt, with a pretty sweater vest over it.

She looks like a dignified young woman.

This outfit... seems quite suitable, doesn't it?

She walked towards the elevator, then went down to the first floor, pondering the matter the whole way.

She was smart enough to understand what was happening to her.

Knowing why you have difficulty making decisions about certain things.

I also understand why sometimes when I think of Sienna, a strange feeling wells up inside me.

Athena is experiencing an identity crisis!

That's quite normal, at least according to the information she found online.

She's... almost at the age where she should be rebellious, and things like that.

Of course, she didn't actually intend to rebel against Sienna.

However, the style of clothes she wore when she came into this world did not represent her, nor did they represent the feeling she wanted.

It's not just a matter of clothes; it's a matter of every aspect.

Teddy is much less of a worry than her.

That bear girl is... a simple, carefree bear girl who has things she likes and things she doesn't like; everything about her is simple and straightforward.

But Athena didn't have anything so clear and definite to rely on.

This is obviously because she is an owl, and owls are much smarter than bears.

But then again... this also means that along with her outstanding intelligence comes a whole host of uncertainties.

She walked out of the dormitory building, hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked deeper into the city, embarking on her journey of exploration.

Athena wanted to ask her older sister what she wanted her to do, but... that didn't feel quite right either.

Sienna is the best, the most amazing person in the world, and will undoubtedly become a villain that will strike fear into the hearts of the entire world.

But Athena... Athena wanted to make her older sister proud by being true to herself.

So she needs to figure that out.

She needs to learn how to become the best Athena.

The best Sienna would surely open her arms to welcome her, give her a hug, and pat her head.

Unless the new Athena doesn't like this (though that sounds unlikely).

Her current plans don't really have much to do with finding herself.

No, Sienna gave her a task!

If Athena understands correctly, this is a task that's optional.

The eldest sister hoped that she could stay nearby and provide support when those heroes went out on missions.

After searching online, she discovered that many people originally thought the heroes might go out that afternoon.

However, news later leaked that the event had been moved to tomorrow, so everyone was a bit uncertain. But Athena knew what was going on.

All she had to do was go to the city center and follow the heroes.

There might be a group of people then, and even if there aren't, she can make those around her seem more suspicious than herself in the eyes of the heroes.

It's very simple.

Such a simple plan could not possibly fail.

That's why Athena became increasingly confused when she walked briskly through the city for a long time but still couldn't see any sign of the city center.

In fact, the houses and shops she passed by looked increasingly dilapidated, and she began to have a feeling that she might, perhaps, or maybe was lost, even if only a little bit.

She's an owl! A powerful predator in the air! She can track down even the smallest mouse, even in snow several feet deep!

She swallowed hard and looked around. Her leg was getting tired and aching.

There were some people on the street, but they all looked quite scary, so she didn't dare to approach them or talk to them.

Athena didn't want to give up so quickly, after all, she had only just left home.

She considered going back, then suddenly realized a terrible problem.

She had no idea which direction her home was in.

Athena clenched her fists and continued walking forward.

She figured she could find the city center eventually; she just had to keep walking.

Perhaps she could find a phone to call Sienna?

But if she did that, Sienna would cancel all her plans and be extremely disappointed in her, thinking she was stupid. That wouldn't do.

She turned a corner and stopped. There was a bar there, with several burly men in leather jackets standing at the entrance, and a few large motorcycles parked nearby.

Athena hesitated for a moment, but after mustering her courage, she crossed the road (she even looked left and right, because she was much smarter than Teddy) and continued walking forward.

There's a rather enticing alleyway there; if you go in, you can avoid those motorcyclists.

She doesn't need to be nervous; darkness is the natural habitat for owls like her.

"Hey, little girl, what are you doing here?" A voice that Athena had never heard before, an extremely lewd voice, rang out.

She suddenly felt her blood run cold. When she looked up, she saw a man wearing a suit that might have looked decent.

The front of the suit jacket was now covered in strange, damp stains and reeked of alcohol and vomit. She immediately took a dozen steps back.

"Ah, no—don't be afraid," the man said, staggering as he approached her.

As he spoke, he was holding a bag in his hand, with something dangling inside.

And his speech was becoming slurred. Was he drunk?

“Get away,” Athena said.

“Oh, no, don’t do that,” he said, “a lovely little girl like you.”

She is indeed quite cute, but I don't want to hear this guy say that.

She glared at him fiercely, then began to unleash her power on him, releasing only a tiny bit, just enough to make him feel nervous and uneasy.

The man paused for a moment, looked around blankly, and then looked at her again.

"Do you want to come with me?" he asked. "It's not safe for a young girl like you to be here."

Athena took another big step back.

“It’s really not safe,” he said, and then staggered toward her again.

"Hey!"

Athena was startled and turned around abruptly.

Three men appeared at the alley entrance. They were three burly men dressed in black leather jackets, with long beards and angry expressions.

“Look at you, still so drunk at a time like this,” said the biggest one. “Get lost, buddy.”

"I just... just wanted to be friendly to this cute little girl," the man in the suit said.

The motorcyclists exchanged glances, and then, as if receiving a silent signal, they seemed to understand each other.

Two of them walked past Athena, while the big guy walked towards her.

For a moment, she felt that she was about to face a terrible disaster.

The man then knelt down on one knee. "Hey, little guy, are you alright?" he asked.

Athena was momentarily at a loss for words. "I'm fine," she said.

The man smiled through his thick beard. "Hmm, you seem like a brave girl," he said.

Athena nodded.

She was certainly brave.

She wasn't actually scared, just... a little surprised. "I'm very brave," she said.

"Are you lost?" he asked. "My brothers and I wouldn't mind taking you home, or letting you use the phone in the bar, how about that?"

"I... am a little lost."

The man burst into laughter. "I think we've all gotten lost before," he said.

He said, "Come on, we'll find someone to take you home. Maybe you can even try our fish and chips, how about it?"
