The socially awkward villain's furry superpower
Chapter 3 Haki Bear
The door clicked shut, and just like that, the boss left.
Teddy snuggled deeper into the pillow, enjoying its warmth and scent. The pillow had a comforting, warm, and safe quality, like a cave to shelter from a storm.
She pulled the blanket tighter, wrapped it around her shoulders, and curled herself up into a small ball as much as possible. The room was colder than she had hoped.
Teddy doesn't have many memories to rely on, only the few minutes he spent with his boss, when the boss was flustered and acted as if the world was about to end.
But those memories are all beautiful, especially those few gentle touches and the hug she gave to the eldest brother.
The eldest brother's embrace is warm, and Teddy likes that feeling.
Her already heavy eyelids began to droop, and a warm sense of sleepiness washed over her like a tide. She gradually slipped into a hazy, deep hibernation, where time slowly passed, and only the occasional footsteps in the corridor or the roar of passing trucks could make one aware of the passage of time.
Something banged. She guessed it was the door. The sound was enough for her to open one eye and look around.
Then, to her extreme annoyance, something suddenly popped into her field of vision.
[New mission!]
[Attack an innocent person!]
[Reward: 1 skill upgrade point for each person incapacitated. 2 skill upgrade points for each person killed. 2 Evil Points for each successful kill!]
To accept or to reject?
Teddy rolled over in bed. That sounded like a lot of effort, and the boss hadn't told her to go out and eat people.
Decisively refuse!
[New mission!]
[Robbing a stranger!]
[Reward: 1 skill upgrade point for each successful robbery! 1 evil point for each stolen item!]
To accept or to reject?
Teddy was a little hungry, and she noticed that the eldest brother hadn't left any food in the room.
Let's just accept it!
I'll just go out and get something to eat.
Teddy sighed, threw off the blanket, and rolled off the bed.
She put on her boots, frowning and pouting as she did so, muttering to herself as she tried to recall the formula for tying shoelaces. Although she didn't have much memory of it, she still roughly knew the formula.
After tying his shoelaces, Teddy walked towards the door. Just as he was about to open it, he suddenly remembered how much effort his boss had put into hiding his identity.
She concentrated for a moment, and the words above her head gradually disappeared. Then she slipped into a wide corridor.
There was another girl in the hallway, much older than her, about the same age as the leader. The girl stared at Teddy and waved.
Teddy considered robbing her, but the girl didn't seem to have any food on her, so she just waved and continued walking.
She could choose to take the elevator or walk up the stairs, so she listened to old-fashioned pop music as she took the elevator down to the first floor. After walking up several dozen more steps, she arrived outside the building mentioned earlier.
The sunlight shone directly on her head, making her ears feel hot and causing her to feel sweaty and listless.
Teddy turned to go back to bed—she could go rob someone later—but the door was locked. She tugged at it a few more times, but it wouldn't budge.
Teddy frowned at the door.
She could simply use her abilities to break down the door. She knew she could do it. But that would only make her more tired and hungrier.
She sighed helplessly and turned to look around. There were many buildings around. She thought that if she wanted to rob someone, the best way was to head in the most bustling direction and wait to find someone alone.
She dragged her feet along the sidewalk, turning her head back and forth, staring at all the posters and advertisements plastered on the telephone poles and the sides of passing buses.
There are many pictures of people wearing tight-fitting clothes, standing tall and with their feet on the necks of ugly people, looking like kings and queens, especially in those pictures where they are surrounded by cheering crowds.
The posters on the utility poles weren't as colorful, and the designs weren't as interesting.
For example, there might be messages like "Call 011 if you spot any signs of evil!" or website ads where people can provide anonymous tips.
Teddy still thought these were better than the food ads, which made her even hungrier.
She walked quite a distance when she saw a tall, thin, older man, probably a year or two older than her, carrying a box in one hand and a suitcase in the other, walking into a small alley.
Teddy grinned, "Hehe, I've finally found the fat sheep!"
She quickened her pace, turned the corner, and entered the alley, where she found the man muttering complaints to himself in front of two crooked trash cans. The two trash cans were blocking his way.
She walked into the dark alley, her smile growing even brighter. "Hey, old man."
The man was startled and turned around, revealing a tall, thin young man with a thick beard. "What is it?"
"Give me everything you have," Teddy said.
The man blinked, then laughed. "Are you here for my gathering?" he asked.
Before Teddy could ask him what he was saying, he knelt down and put down the box he was holding.
It was just a wooden crate with a footrest on the side. He opened his briefcase, rummaged through it, and then stopped. "Ah, well, uh, it's not really appropriate to do this kind of thing in a place like this, is it, comrade?"
"what?"
"Ah, I had hoped that today I could inspire the masses to join the glorious revolution of the fat capitalist swine chieftain."
But having one girl is better than having none. Though few in number, her role is significant. Just as that great proletarian fighter from the East said, "A single spark can start a prairie fire," don't you agree, Little Ears?
Teddy reached out and touched his ears. They weren't small at all; his ears were probably smaller than hers. If you included the fur around them, his ears were definitely smaller than mine.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about…” Teddy said. “I just want some food.”
"Who wouldn't want to! But those high and mighty capitalists won't allow it; they won't feed you until you're completely worn out!"
Teddy took a small step back. Was someone trying to wear her out? She growled in her throat and took another step forward. "I won't let them succeed. I'm strong enough."
"Oh my God, I can already see the flames of the proletariat burning within you. Comrade, listen, it's a pity that the rally has been cancelled."
But... I can give you this; it taught me a lot. Don't worry about me; I have other copies.
He took a book out of his briefcase, then tucked it under his arm to hold it in place, and closed the briefcase. The man placed the book in her hands and then ruffled her hair.
"Good luck, young man!" he said before walking past her.
Teddy looked down at the little red book in his hand, looking puzzled.
Who are the capitalists? Why aren't they feeding her and instead trying to work her to exhaustion? Will this book tell her?
I just want to eat...
【mission completed! 】
[Robbing a stranger!]
[Reward: 1 skill upgrade point for each successful robbery!]
Teddy grinned – there's a reward!
But her smile vanished immediately as her stomach began to rumble.
Teddy sighed, stuffed the new book into his shorts pocket, and went to look for his next target.
Perhaps this time she'd run into someone with food. She slowed her pace, still heading towards the most bustling area.
However, she was also keeping an eye on the capitalists, just in case.
She didn't know what capitalist parents looked like, but she felt she would recognize them when she met them; the man had said they were fat and looked like pigs.
A loud gong rang out. Teddy tensed up, thinking something bad was about to happen, but it turned out to be just a group of people walking out of several buildings at the same time.
They all looked like ordinary people, although some of them were quite fat (but not to the point of looking like pigs, so they probably weren't capitalists).
Teddy walked to the side of a building where the entrance jutted out slightly, and stood in partial shadow. A few passersby glanced at her, but then ignored her.
Teddy waited until the crowd gradually dispersed. Many people walked towards some parking lots or bus stops on the street, while others wandered around chatting enthusiastically.
She was looking for a lone person she could rob.
Then, a girl came out alone. She was hunched over, her eyes downcast, her hands fiddling with the strap of her schoolbag. What a perfect target.
However, she was also blonde and wore the same clothes as the boss.
"Okay, she's the boss," Teddy sighed, abandoning his robbery plan.
She can just ask the boss for food, and the boss will definitely pay for her work today, right?
“Hey, boss,” Teddy said.
Sienna jumped in surprise, turning around so fast she almost knocked Teddy unconscious with her swinging backpack. "What—what are you doing here?!" she exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth with her hand.
Several people looked in their direction, but Teddy ignored them.
She was busy staring at the eldest brother when she saw him grab her hand and start pulling her forward.
What did she do wrong? She went out to rob someone, but the boss didn't say she couldn't go.
Teddy thought the eldest brother was just being cautious.
"We need to talk. Let's talk now... let's talk when we get back to the dorm."
“But boss,” Teddy said, “I’m hungry.”
Sienna made a strange sound. "Well... let's eat first."
Teddy's smile is enough to frighten a wolf.
She was so happy with her boss, and she couldn't wait to tell her all the good things she had done so far.
