The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Maple Leaf was nervous, which wasn't uncommon for her, but this time it was a completely new kind of nervousness, one she had never experienced before. She was both excited and nervous.

Perhaps more accurately, she worried that what she was about to do wouldn't make others as happy as she hoped.

In any case, she asked her older sister Sienna to take her and her sisters to a place where she could give them gifts, and Sienna provided a perfect location.

They drove for about an hour from the city center and arrived at a pleasant woodland with several huge rocky hills and a wide open space.

Sienna said her family had camped here once or twice. It's located between the city of Eau Claire and the place where she grew up with her great-grandmother and great-grandfather.

They parked Sam's van next to an open space, and everyone poured out of the van.

Maple loved her sisters very much, but she didn't love them as much when Trinity and Teddy had a farting contest in the back seat of the car, and Athena sat on Maple the whole way.

Although Athena is Maple's second favorite older sister, her butt is very uncomfortable, and her hair always keeps hitting Maple's face.

However, now that they've arrived, Maple Leaf immediately fell in love with the place.

It's a very open place with trees and a stream nearby. She really wanted to explore it. There were rocks and soil here, and it smelled much better than in the city.

The best part was that there was no one else around, only her, her sisters, and Sam.

She decided that if Sienna ever wanted to build a super secret base, they should build it here.

But that would make it very difficult to get to the city...

Unless she builds a secret underground tunnel between here and the city? She already has a plan in mind!

However, she needs several machines to manufacture the tunnel boring machine, as well as a lot of tracks and a train that can run on the tracks, but she feels that if she is given a year, she can definitely get it all done.

Then she can start building a super cool forest base! Maybe in a tree? A treehouse seems like a great idea.

Especially if the tree is lying horizontally, it can block the flow of the stream.

“Maple Leaf?” Sienna asked, startling Maple Leaf. Her older sister was looking at her curiously. “Do you want to take the thing out?”

“Yes, um, I was just now, uh,” Maple said hesitantly. She wanted to ask something, but it was a little strange. She wasn’t sure how her sisters would react, or if they would find it weird or something.

But Sienna, in a way that Maple liked, gently patted her head between her ears. "What's wrong?"

“I kind of hope everyone sits still and waits so they can see the gifts I made for them,” Maple said, staring at her sneakers.

Sienna smiled. "Of course, give me a minute to gather everyone here."

Maple Leaf nodded, then ran to the back of the van with her cheeks burning.

She opened the trunk, which was a little scary because the trunk door had a hissing hydraulic piston, and she was always worried that if she didn't let go, the door would lift her right off the ground.

The gifts were all there; she had counted them twice before leaving.

Maple Leaf is now deciding which gift to send first, which is proving to be a real challenge.

She bit her lip with her front teeth (Sienna said her front teeth were cute, though Athena would tease her about it), and then decided to start with what was easiest to get.

Right now, that's the thing piled on top.

It was in a small box covered with wrapping paper, but the contents still made some noise as she moved it around in the car.

Teddy and Trinity ran off as soon as they arrived, but Sienna coaxed them back. Now everyone is sitting on a large grassy area nearby, including Sam, who is lying on her back in the sun with a large blanket spread out on her back.

Sienna saw the maple leaves and nodded with a smile. "Alright everyone, this is why we're here, so please pay attention."

Maple nodded in response, then took a deep breath. These were just her sisters, her annoying yet beloved sisters. She could manage.

"What are you holding?" Teddy asked, sitting up straight.

“Hmm. To help everyone fight against that villain ‘Rattlesnake’—” She paused, waiting for her sisters to boo the villain.

"Sister Sienna asked me to make some new equipment for everyone. Well, because there's really not much time, I can't make too many big items, but I at least made one thing for everyone that I think will be of great help."

"Ah, Athena, this is for you." She handed the box to her sister. "I hope you like it."

Athena stood up and took the box, but was immediately surrounded by Trinity and Teddy until Sienna came over and asked everyone to sit down.

For some reason, everyone was sitting and watching Athena open the gift, which made Maple Leaf even more nervous. "Oh," said Athena, "is this a telescope?" she asked, taking the thing Maple Leaf had made out of the box.

"No, it's not! It's a monocular telescope."

“But it has two tubes,” Athena said, holding up the device. It did indeed have two tubes connected by a bunch of wires.

It also has many straps, so that this telescope-like device can be fixed to Athena's head, and she can put it on by simply flipping it down.

"Only one lens can see. The other one contains all the components. Hmm, it's an energy range extender. If it works properly, you can read minds without seeing other people's eyes!"

Athena grinned. "Oh, that's so cool! Does it have any other functions?"

“It allows you to see things very far away,” Maple Leaf said.

To make room for her little gadgets, she disassembled everything inside the telescope, which took a lot of effort.

Seeing Athena happy, Maple Leaf was also delighted, so she ran back to the car and picked up the next gift.

The gift was in a longer box, and she handed it to the nearest Trinity, who jumped for joy. “You made three?” she asked.

“Yes,” Maple Leaf said.

Trinity carefully opened the package. Maple Leaf knew she would keep the wrapping paper for later use, so she didn't use too much tape.

Inside the box were three bright yellow raincoats. Trinity frantically pulled all three on, then suddenly pressed a button on the side of the raincoat. Suddenly, all that could be seen was her face, the ends of her hands, and her legs peeking out from under the raincoat.

Trinity cheered and started running around on the grass, with only a small part of her body visible, which was quite amusing.

“This… is quite interesting,” Sienna said.

“It uses AA batteries,” Maple said. “I don’t think the batteries will last very long.”

“What did you do for me?” Teddy asked.

Maple smiled, then ran back to the van, returned with a small box, and Teddy eagerly tore the box open.

Inside was a hammer, with a small box attached to the handle and a bunch of wires connected to the hammer head.

“Wow,” Teddy said, holding up the hammer, “a hammer!”

“Yes!” Maple Leaf said, “See that little box? There’s a light inside. When you hit something a lot enough, the green light will turn on, and then you press that little trigger, and it will release all the energy you’ve generated from hitting the thing at once.”

“That’s so cool!” Teddy said, “but I don’t quite understand what you mean.”

Maple Leaf blinked. "Try knocking something."

"Don't knock on people," Sienna said immediately.

Teddy ran to find a rock and quickly began frantically smashing it with a hammer. Finally, she figured out how to use the hammer, and the entire rock exploded.

Teddy was also blown away. She flew off the rock and rolled several times on the grass.

“Teddy!” Sienna called out.

But Teddy just got up and grinned. "That's amazing!" she said.

Maple Leaf smiled too. She had one last gift to give, a gift she had kept hidden in her pocket. She took it out and handed it to her older sister, Sienna.

Sienna smiled and shook the small box. "What's this?" she asked.

“A cane!” Maple Leaf said. “That way you’ll look super cool when you’re playing the villain!”
