That night

Argrede disguised the carriage as a dilapidated one used to transport grain to the palace. Ordinary people wouldn't recognize such a rare creature as a dragon horse, so Argrede simply parked the carriage by the wall of the courtyard where Hepburn was often received, waiting for her arrival.

After a brief commotion, the sounds of a patrol and alarm bells suddenly came from inside the courtyard. The unusual noise made Agreed frown instantly. Had they been discovered so quickly? Hepburn then climbed over the courtyard wall, nimbly slipped into the carriage, and whispered, "Hurry, someone has tipped off my father. They know our plan."

Without hesitation, Agred immediately drove towards the city gate.

It turns out that Toure informed the royal family, who then doubled the number of guards to keep a close watch on Hepburn. Hepburn was able to escape mainly thanks to a disguise potion and her personal maid, Milenda. Milenda was a pitiful girl whom Hepburn took in when she was a child, who was selling herself on the street to bury her father. She was also Hepburn's only trusted confidante.

In an attempt to escape the palace, Milenda was captured by the palace guards. A fate worse than death awaited her, but she had no regrets. She was willing to repay the life-saving grace of those years ago with her own life.

However, the main credit for Hepburn's safe escape from the palace goes to another person: Pushkin. The palace's immediate imposition of martial law upon learning of the princess's impending escape alerted Pushkin, who was visiting the palace with his elder brother.

Pushkin then set fire to the palace's back garden and lured his brother away, buying Hepburn time and an opportunity to escape. With the help of many, Hepburn managed to escape the palace unharmed.

Unfortunately, coming out didn't mean they were safe. Several legendary archmages from the royal palace chased after them and flew towards their carriage.

This is where the dragon steed's power came into play. Its incredible speed made it impossible for the legendary mages to catch up for a while. Agreed also cast a Windwalk spell on the carriage to further increase their speed, keeping the two sides at roughly the same speed.

Thus, the legendary mages chased after the princess for a long time in this state of being able to see her but not catch up. Because the princess was in the carriage, they were in an awkward situation where they dared not make a move and could only escort the carriage all the way to the city gate.

But just then, the forbidden spellcaster of the Augustan royal family caught up and acted decisively. Four stone spikes shot out from the ground at just the right moment, wedging the carriage wheels and instantly freezing them with magic. The forbidden spellcaster, with his superb magical proficiency, managed to stop the carriage with low-level magic. Then, an old man in a long robe slowly flew down from the sky and looked down at him, saying, "Agred! Do you know what a crime it is to kidnap a princess! Now no one can save you. Surrender obediently and come back with me to await the judgment of the Mage King."

Just as Agred stared gravely at the forbidden spellcaster before him, thinking he was doomed, a familiar voice rang out from behind him, shouting, "My disciple Presidian, the Mage King has no right to judge him!"

Before he could finish speaking, the tenth-tier spell 'Time Freeze' was activated, sealing the forbidden mage in place and rendering him immobile. At this moment, Agreed looked behind him and asked excitedly, "Teacher? You...you're here?!"

Presidian laughed and scolded, "You brat, do you think I don't know what you're thinking! I'm your teacher! Daring to steal the Mage King's daughter, you're quite the disciple I've ever had. Today, whoever dares to touch you, I'll let them taste the power of forbidden magic!"

Agreed cried out guiltily, "I'm sorry, teacher, I didn't mean to involve you."

Preshend reprimanded, "Didn't you ever consider me your teacher? What are you afraid of? I'll hold up the sky for you if it falls. You take that girl and leave today, and let's see who the hell dares to stop you!"

The frozen spellcaster transmitted his voice through his soul: "Presidian, don't make things worse for yourself! How much effort did the Mage King go through to save your life? You're ungrateful and even help your wicked disciple rebel! Do you really not want to live anymore?!"

Presidian ignored his threat and instead spread his large hand, a control circle appearing in his palm. He then triumphantly shouted to the mages present, "You should all be familiar with this, right?"

The controlled forbidden magician's expression instantly changed drastically as he shouted in panic, "Forbidden magic?! Are you insane?!"

Presidian sneered, "I went mad the moment you compromised with the Church of Light. Why do you think I only showed up now? The forbidden spell is now fully incantated. If I'm not happy, the entire Augustus will be buried with me! You know what I mean, right? Let my disciple leave, or you'll all die here!"

As he spoke, Presidian took out a spatial ring and threw it to Agreed, shouting at him from behind, "Hurry up and get out of here! Get out of here!!"

Agreed dismounted and bowed to Presidian, then took Hepburn from the carriage. The two mounted their dragon steeds and rode towards the city gate. Agreed used magic to blast open the gate, and the two rode off into the distance from Augustus.

Several archmages tried to give chase, but they were all blasted back by Presidian's magic. Presidian also threatened those mages, saying, "Whoever dares to chase, I will kill them!" Instantly, everyone was intimidated by this forbidden spell mage and dared not make any further moves.

Some time later, the Wizard King arrived with all the forbidden spellcasters. Looking at Presidian, the Wizard King cried out in disappointment, "You were once the pride of Augustus, the greatest forbidden spellcaster of Augustus, and a close friend of my father, the previous Wizard King. But now, do you still deserve to be called the pride of Augustus for what you have done?"

Presidian sighed and then confronted him, "Haven't you changed too? Since when has Augustus needed to form alliances with other countries through marriage? Since when have we needed to use our own children as bargaining chips in this disgusting political game? Boy, you've changed, and so have I. You've lost yourself in that throne, and I've lost my true self in hatred. But... I still want to leave hope for the children. No one can stop me today. You all have to stay here with me until sunrise, or don't blame me for the power of my forbidden magic!"

The mage king shook his head helplessly and said, "Your plan is going to fail. We have already sent elite disciples from various academies to wait for them to walk into our trap outside Augustus. They will not be able to escape."

Presidian retorted with a dismissive smile, "You underestimate my apprentice."

Master Wang chuckled and said confidently, "Then we'll wait and see. If your disciple can defeat those young talents from the five major academies, I'll resign myself to letting them leave. Otherwise... both your disciple and you will die!"

At this moment, Presidian unconsciously looked into the distance. Although he was worried, he had confidence in Agreed, because Presidian knew that his eccentric apprentice would not be defeated by the guys from the five major academies.
