Chapter 45 Love Letter

"Second brother, you have no idea how beautiful that princess is. Those legs, that figure, wow~ After I marry her, I'll have to make good use of her and enjoy the feeling of being in ecstasy."

In the residence of the exchange students of the Church of Light, a handsome young man was talking to Pushkin with a lewd grin and exaggerated expressions, indulging in his fantasies.

Pushkin felt disgusted and revulsed looking at the man in front of him. If he weren't his own brother, Pushkin would have liked to swing his sword and cut off his hateful head. Pushkin knew his brother's character all too well. Hepburn was, after all, his friend. So Pushkin really couldn't understand the Wizard King's brainless marriage.

Just for some worthless gain, he pushed his own daughter into the fire?! The more Pushkin understood, the more he loathed this so-called 'adult political game.' Even Pushkin knew that marrying into the Church of Light was tantamount to asking a tiger for its skin. Therefore, Pushkin was deeply disappointed in the country's leaders, because incompetent and greedy rulers would only bring unnecessary disaster to the country.

Just as Pushkin was leaving the house, fed up with listening to his brother's disgusting game, Agreed approached him and called out, "Hey, still awake? I've brought you something."

Pushkin walked over suspiciously and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Agreed, seemingly ignoring the question, handed Pushkin a basket, saying, "Freshly baked cream bread, your favorite, is for you." Then, without looking back, Agreed turned and left.

Lost in thought, Pushkin opened the basket and saw a message left by Agreed using magic. After tearing it up, a message was directly imprinted in Pushkin's mind: "I'm taking Hepburn away from this country. If you still consider me a friend, create some commotion the day after tomorrow to help me confuse the situation."

Pushkin immediately looked at the spot where Agred had disappeared and murmured with a worried expression, "It must succeed."

At this moment, his older brother also came over and asked, puzzled, "What's wrong? What's he doing here?"

Pushkin shook the basket and said, "He came to bring me my favorite bread."

Pushkin's brother said with disgust, "Another disgusting sycophant. Brother, you'd better stay away from people like this. These lowly people who are all about opportunism and trying to curry favor with us are repulsive." After saying that, Pushkin's brother turned around and went back to his room to rest.

Pushkin watched his brother's retreating figure, momentarily speechless. It was as ridiculous as watching a pig mock a person. In the end, Pushkin could only shake his head with a smile. His family was truly disappointing; in their pursuit of fame and fortune, they had gradually lost their true nature and morality, turning into filthy and vile monsters.

The next day

Argreed arrived at the courtyard of the Presidian family's house, and then found the groove that Hepburn had created when she practiced magic. This was Argreed and Hepburn's private mailbox. Whenever Hepburn wanted to sneak out to play, she would secretly send a message here to Argreed so that he could meet her. Argreed took out the stone that filled the groove and took out a brand new letter from it.

Agreed sat against the wall, surrounded himself with an anti-spy magic circle, and then opened the letter and began to read it silently.

“Dear senior brother, no, I'll still call you Agreed.”

I've thought carefully about what you said before, and I'm very calm and clear-headed now. Agreed, I don't see you as a tool to escape from here, nor as my last straw for survival. I love you!

I often wonder when I started to like you. I have many answers, but none of them feel quite right. Later, I realized that the moment I confirmed my love wasn't when a certain word or action of yours attracted me, nor was it when I suddenly missed you while I was alone. It was when I walked into a store that day and wondered what you might like; it was on a crowded street, when I, being playful, didn't rush forward but stood there looking back for you. It was then that I realized I loved you from the very first moment I saw you, and that you had been hidden in every corner of my life.

Meeting you made me feel that life could slow down, and I wanted to spend more time on everyday things: holding hands, taking walks, chatting, and saying trivial things in the afternoon outdoors. I also wanted to eat late-night snacks together, cry and laugh together when we were hungry. All of this is so ordinary, but it feels precious because it's you. We want to walk hand in hand through long streets and narrow alleys, our similar eyes filled with determination. I hope that one day, we can go out together in the afternoon evening, and then go home together when the streetlights come on one by one. What I mean is, I love you, and I want to have a future with you.

Now I want to confirm again, do you...love me?

Looking at the letter, Agreed couldn't help but laugh, muttering to himself, "Silly girl, how could I not love you? Now I have even less reason to let you jump into the fire pit. I will save you at all costs."

Soon the day of Agreed's plan arrived. Milton, unusually, returned to the cabin early. Upon entering and seeing Agreed already prepared, Milton immediately exclaimed, "I read the letter you wrote to me. Dude, you're really brave! Have you thought it through? Do you know what this means?"

Argreed said with his mind made up, "The girl has taken the initiative. If I'm just sitting here like a coward, it'll make me look like a worthless person. Since it's a two-way street, I should go for it without hesitation."

Milton, as if he had expected this, generously replied, "I knew this day would come. Here!" With that, a spatial ring was tossed into Agreed's hand.

After Agreed caught it, Milton continued, "I knew this day would come. There are some one-time enchanted items that I made in advance. There's nothing new in there, just the same items that you already know how to use. Take them with you. That's all I can do to help you."

Agreed said gratefully, "Thanks, old friend. By the way, what are you doing with that baggage?"

Milton shrugged and explained, "If you succeed, I might be captured and used to vent my anger as your friend, so I'd better slip away before you do it. Anyway, there's nothing more enchanting knowledge I need to learn here. We'll meet again someday."

After saying that, Milton shouldered his bag, turned and left without saying anything more. Agreed watched his figure gradually disappear into the distance and said softly, "Until we meet again, my first friend after my rebirth. Be sure to stay safe."

At that moment, Milton seemed to hear Agreed's words, but he didn't turn around or stop. He just waved his hand and shouted as he walked, "You must be happy!"
