Chapter 28 Chasing and intercepting

Similar incidents have been occurring frequently recently. Students from the Magic Sword Academy have reported being attacked by thieves who stole their magic crystals and magical items. However, some victims vaguely recognized the attackers as the two guys Jones had warned them not to provoke.

After almost everyone at the Magic Sword Academy was persecuted, the students could no longer contain their anger and united to form a massive extermination squad, beginning a thorough search of the outskirts of the Magic Beast Forest.

Meanwhile, Agreed, completely unaware of what was happening, was counting his spoils with Milton. The two sat around the campfire where they were roasting monster meat. Milton excitedly counted, "One thousand four hundred and eighty-seven, one thousand four hundred and eighty-eight, one thousand four hundred and eighty-nine... one thousand five hundred! We've snatched a total of one thousand five hundred magic crystals from those guys at the Magic Sword Academy! Goodness, our spatial rings are almost full. If we don't win, who else has the right to win?"

While Agred sat cross-legged to recover his magic power, he used the stolen magic crystal to practice the Soul Gathering Technique. With a breath of turbid air, Agred withdrew from his meditative state and said, "We've been so high-profile lately, the Magic Sword Academy will definitely retaliate against us. From now on, we should try to hide as much as possible. Except for going out to hunt for food when necessary, we shouldn't go out. If we can survive until the end, we'll definitely be the winner."

Milton chimed in, "We don't even need to go hunting anymore. We have enough monster meat we've stockpiled to last until the trial ends. You checked, didn't you? The meat is all non-toxic. Although it's very tough, we can grit our teeth and get through it."

Just then, Agreed suddenly sensed something. His brows furrowed instantly, signaling Milton to be quiet. At the same time, he placed his hand on the ground and activated the earth elemental magic "Wave" to detect the surrounding movements. Soon, Agreed sensed the footsteps of a large group of people approaching. Agreed instantly understood that the Magic Sword Academy had come looking for him.

Argreed then stood up and said solemnly, "They're here! You take the magic crystal and leave first. I'll make some noise to lure them away. Remember to find a place to hide and hand over the magic crystal later. We'll split the reward equally."

Milton asked worriedly, "Can you handle them all by yourself? There are hundreds of them. Let's run together."

Agreed shook his head and said, "There are too many of them. If they all try to escape together, none of them will get out. Don't worry, I have many ways to escape, it won't be a big problem. Let's go." With that, Agreed gave Milton a push, and Milton didn't hesitate and immediately ran out.

Agreed ran in the opposite direction, unleashing a fireball spell that stunned two students nearby. He then shouted, "You bunch of useless trash, you deserved to be robbed! Want magic crystals? They're all here, come and get them if you dare!"

As he said this, Agreed used amplification magic to make his provocation clearly heard by every student in the Magic Sword Academy. His arrogant words instantly aroused the anger of the students, who lost their minds and ignored the presence of their accomplice. The crazed students also chanted spells without mercy and blasted Agreed away.

In an instant, hundreds of attack spells swept in. Agred quickly activated the "Windwalk" spell, which increased his movement speed, and left the range of the spells at a speed of nearly fifty meters per second. Although most of them were only second-tier spells, the interaction of the various spells turned the area within dozens of meters into scorched earth and created a huge crater.

Agred looked at the horrific scene before him with lingering fear. These bastards really went all out. Agred immediately activated his Wind Walk magic again and ran away without looking back. Naturally, the students of the Magic Sword Academy would not let him go and used various speed-up methods to chase after him.

To shake off his pursuers, Agreed frantically threw various offensive and control spells behind him as he fled. Soon, the pursuers behind him were overwhelmed by these harassing attacks. At this moment, Jones reappeared. This time, he directly used a high-level magic scroll and instantly cast the fifth-tier magic spell, Chaotic Stone Array.

After the magic was activated, countless stone spikes suddenly appeared under Agred's feet. One of the spikes shot out precisely from under Agred's feet, sending him flying. Fortunately, Agred's protective gear activated in time, preventing him from suffering any real damage. Otherwise, Agred would have been seriously injured and rendered unable to move, making him vulnerable to being slaughtered.

Agreed glared back at Jones with resentment, took out the sixth-tier magic scroll 'Destruction Lightning' given to him by Presidium, tore open the scroll, and the magic was instantly unleashed. A bolt of lightning as thick as a bucket appeared out of thin air and struck Jones at a speed beyond the reach of the naked eye. The various magical items on Jones' body were instantly activated in an attempt to protect his body, but these protective items were directly shattered by the powerful lightning.

Jones was ultimately cleaved into a "charcoal man," his body reeking of burning flesh, lying on the ground convulsing, critically injured and on the verge of death. His companions rushed forward to treat him and sent out distress signals. Agreed watched all of this indifferently, while the students of the Magic Sword Academy around them were also terrified by the sudden thunderclap. Agreed's tyranny and ruthlessness once again refreshed their understanding of the world.

Although the sixth-tier spell was cast with the aid of the scroll, it still drained most of Agred's magic power. Seeing that he had achieved his goal of intimidation, Agred swaggered away. As for Jones, whom he had tormented, he didn't care at all. To put it bluntly, it was all his own doing. "You tried to kill me first, so don't blame me for being impolite." However, Agred knew that his feud with the Magic Sword Academy was now completely over.

Just as Agred thought he had escaped the encirclement of the Magic Sword Academy, a sudden wolf howl brought him back to reality. More than ten wolf-like magical beasts—no, they should be called tamed 'summoned beasts'—completely surrounded Agred again. This left Agred speechless. Why did the people from the "Summoning Academy" have to pick this moment to interfere? Did they really think he was a pushover that could be easily bullied?

At this moment, a female student riding a Shadow Wolf and dressed in the uniform of an elite disciple of the Summoning Academy shouted down at Agred from her high position: "You guys from the Elemental Academy, surrender! Hand over all your magic crystals, and I promise to let you leave. As the leader of the Summoning Academy, I absolutely keep my word."

Agreed asked doubtfully, "Are you so sure you've got me cornered?"

The female student chuckled and said, "You must have suffered quite a bit escaping from the Demon Sword Academy's thorough search. You're the biggest 'fat piece of meat' now. Not to mention our Summoning Academy, even your classmates from the Elemental Academy are eyeing the magic crystal in your possession that's enough to win you the championship. Stop struggling. You're already the target of everyone's attention. We can cooperate and split the rewards."

Agreed scoffed, "You think you can take half of my reward just by talking? Do you think I've been kicked in the head by a donkey?"

The female student then said coldly, "Since you don't know what's good for you, then I won't be polite. Just a friendly reminder, these demon wolves under my command don't know their own strength when they bite!"
