HP Star Shining
Chapter 49
Harry and Ron analyzed the situation for the entire day. When it was getting dark, Professor McGonagall hurried into the common room and told everyone with a stiff face to pack their bags and prepare to go home the next day.
Her face looked grim, and Su Xingchen guessed that they had already received the news that Ginny was missing.
Harry and Ron looked at each other, and when everyone went back to the dormitory to pack their luggage, they put on their invisibility cloaks and sneaked out.
Su Xingchen couldn't see the two of them and didn't know where they would go, but after thinking about it carefully, she decided to go directly to Myrtle's bathroom, where they would meet anyway.
On the way, she saw some new content below the previous lines of words.
"Her body will remain in the Chamber of Secrets forever?" Su Xingchen tapped her chin as she stood in front of the wall. She remembered that this seemed to be written by Ginny herself. No matter what, she would come back alive anyway.
Floating into Myrtle's bathroom, she was sitting on the toilet as usual, puffing and tucking.
"Myrtle?" Su Xingchen called her cautiously, but Myrtle seemed to hear nothing.
Very good, Su Xingchen breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t want Myrtle to go crazy at her again.
She walked around the bathroom sink twice and felt that every place was the same, with no difference.
It wasn't long before Harry and Ron arrived, pinning Lockhart down.
"Oh, it's you." Myrtle saw Harry and the others, "What do you want this time?"
"I wanted to ask how you died?" Harry said.
Myrtle's whole demeanor changed instantly, and she looked as if no one had ever asked her the question that flattered her.
"Ouch, that's scary," said Myrtle with relish.
"I died in this cell. I remember it clearly. Oliver Hornby laughed at me for wearing glasses and looking like a four-eyed dog, so I hid here. I locked the door and was crying inside when I heard someone come in. They spoke in a funny way, I think it was another language."
"But what annoyed me was that I heard a boy's voice, and I opened the door, wanting to yell at him to go away and go to his own men's room, and then..." Myrtle puffed out her chest, her face glowing, thinking she was very great, "and then I died."
"How did he die?" Harry asked again.
"I don't know." Myrtle lowered her voice mysteriously. "I just remember seeing a pair of scary-large yellow eyes. My whole body seemed to be grabbed, and then I floated away."
She looked at Harry in a daze. "Then I came back, you know, determined to get even with Olive Hornby. She was really sorry she'd laughed at me for wearing glasses."
Su Xingchen listened carefully, and Myrtle's statement was similar to her analysis.
The basilisk's eyes were like a mental or soul attack, a fatal blow. When there was no mental power or soul in her body, the basilisk could not kill her.
"Where on earth did you see those eyes?" Harry asked impatiently.
"It's about there." Myrtle pointed vaguely to the pool in front of her.
Harry and Ron hurried over, and Lockhart stepped aside hastily with a look of horror on his face.
This was a very ordinary and mediocre pool. The two men carefully checked it from top to bottom, inside and out, even the water pipes.
Harry noticed a tiny snake carved into the side of a brass tap. He tried turning it on, but no water came out.
"This tap never works," said Myrtle cheerfully.
Su Xingchen floated over and stood next to Harry.
How thoughtful, she thought.
She didn't see the little snake. Is this the difference between the protagonist and the NPC?
"Harry," said Ron, "try to say a few words in Parseltongue."
"But..." Harry thought hard. In the past, he could only speak Parseltongue to a real snake. He had no choice but to stare at the carved little snake and imagine it as a real snake.
"Open it." He said and looked up at Ron, who shook his head, "No, you're talking human language."
Su Xingchen suddenly felt like laughing. Ron was really good at expressing himself.
Harry turned his head to look at the snake again, forcing himself to believe that it was alive.
Harry wondered if if he moved his head a few times, combined with the flickering candlelight, it would make the snake appear to move.
"Open it," he said.
However, what neither he nor the others heard were these two words, but a strange hissing sound.
Suddenly, the faucet emitted a dazzling white light and began to spin rapidly, and then the sink began to move.
Several people watched as the pool slowly disappeared from their sight, revealing a very thick water pipe that was large enough for one person to pass through.
Su Xingchen cautiously leaned over, but it was pitch black and scary, so he quickly retracted it.
Harry heard Ron gasp, and he had already made up his mind what he was going to do.
"I want to go down."
Harry felt that he had to go, since they had found the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets and since there was still a very small and weak possibility: Ginny was still alive.
Then he felt that he couldn't just stand by and watch.
There was a moment of silence in the bathroom.
"Well, it's obvious you don't need me anymore." Lockhart broke the silence, a hint of his usual smile on his face, "I will..."
As his hand rested on the doorknob, Harry and Ron's wands were pointed at him.
"You can go first," Ron roared.
Lockhart, who had lost his wand, turned pale and slowly moved to the entrance of the cave.
"Children," he said pitifully, "what's the use of this."
Harry poked him in the back with his wand, and Lockhart put his feet into the tube. "I really don't think this is..."
He was about to make a final struggle, but before he could continue, Ron pushed him and he slid in and out of sight.
Su Xingchen raised her eyebrows. It was so rude, but she liked it.
Harry followed suit and slowly crawled into the tube, then let go and slid down.
Su Xingchen hesitated for a long time. The pipe was so scary, and the basilisk was so frightening. In her current state, if she accidentally made eye contact with the basilisk again and was petrified, no one would notice until she was weathered into stone powder.
She saw Ron disappear from the corner of her eye. Wait for her! She was scared to walk alone!
Su Xingchen finally gritted her teeth and jumped into the water pipe. She couldn't affect anything now anyway, so she just treated it as a free holographic experience.
Maybe the basilisk couldn't see her either?
It's a dark, slimy, endless slide.
Su Xingchen was glad that he was a ghost at the moment and didn't have to sit and slide down like them, which was very dirty.
"We must be miles beneath the school." Harry's voice echoed in the dark tunnel.
Su Xingchen heard the sound and immediately fell to the ground.
Harry and Ron stood together, while Lockhart, covered in mud and as pale as a ghost, stood on the other side.
"Probably at the bottom of the lake," said Ron, squinting his eyes and looking around at the dark, slimy walls.
"Lumos," Harry said, looking down at his wand, which began to emit a bright light.
"Let's go," he said to Ron and Lockhart, and their feet clattered loudly on the wet ground.
Su Xingchen stayed close to Harry and Ron.
The tunnel was so dark that they could only see a small area in front of them.
"Remember," Harry whispered, "if you hear any movement, close your eyes immediately."
Although no one could see it, Su Xingchen nodded hurriedly. She didn't want to gamble on the one in ten thousand chance of actually dying.
Not to mention the various animal bones that appeared from time to time along the way, the sight of a huge "snake" in this silent and dark passage like a tomb scared the three of them half to death.
Fortunately, it was just a snake skin, but unfortunately, the snake was at least 6 meters long.
"Oh my God." Ron murmured weakly.
There was a sudden noise behind them, which scared Su Xingchen so much that he jumped up.
It was Gerald Lockhart.
His knees gave way and he collapsed to the ground.
"Get up," Ron said sternly, pointing his wand at him.
Lockhart stood up and lunged at Ron, knocking him to the ground.
Harry rushed forward, but it was too late. Lockhart stood up breathlessly, Ron's wand in his hand, his characteristic grin flashing again.
"Children, your adventure ends here. I will take this belt back to school and tell them that I was too late to save the girl. And when you saw her bloody body, you were so distressed that you lost your minds."
Su Xingchen sneered at Lockhart's smug look.
As for Ron's wand, even if she didn't know what was going to happen, she wouldn't worry. That wand... well, how should I put it? Ever since it broke, it's only been targeting its own people.
"Bye bye to your memories." Lockhart raised Ron's wand hand high above his head and shouted, "Oblithe."
With a "bang", the wand exploded with a power no less than a small bomb.
Harry shielded his head with his arms and ran, tripping over the snakeskin and avoiding a large piece of rubble that fell from the ceiling, blocking the passage between him and Ron.
Su Xingchen's reaction was not as quick as Harry's. As a weightless ghost, she was blown away by the airflow.
Liar, liar, big liar! The movie didn't say Ron's wand exploded. She thought Lockhart was just suffering from the backlash of his spell, otherwise he would have run away long ago.
She angrily got up from the ground and found a solid wall in front of her, on which were carved two snakes entwined with each other, their eyes inlaid with large, sparkling emeralds.
No way, no way? Su Xingchen didn't know whether he was lucky or unlucky. The real secret room should be behind the wall.
She could have easily gotten through on her own, but considering what was behind the wall, she chose to wait for Harry.
A moment later, Harry came to the wall and hissed in a low, hoarse voice.
Two snakes split from the middle, slid to the sides and slowly disappeared, and the wall opened.
