HP Star Shining
Chapter 48
Su Xingchen was tired of jumping around and gave up the idea of letting them see her.
"We should go back." Ron reminded.
Harry glanced at "Su Xingchen", and the two of them looked at Hermione next to them and prepared to leave.
Su Xingchen thought that she had seen it before, and Hermione had the clues they needed.
"Don't go, look at Hermione again, she has something in her hand!" Since you are here, just take the clue to avoid making another trip.
No one heard what she said, and the two continued to leave the vicinity of the bed.
"Don't go, you two!" Su Xingchen forgot that she was a ghost in her panic and stood in front of Harry and Ron. By the time she remembered, it was too late. She closed her eyes and prepared to be knocked apart by the two men.
Harry stopped abruptly, not knowing why, just as he had stopped in the corridor leading to the Mirror of Erised last year.
"Harry, what's wrong?" Ron asked.
Harry looked around in confusion, "I feel like there's something here."
Su Xingchen quietly opened one eye, and it seemed to work! So she ran to Hermione's side, jumping and skipping.
"Look here! Look here!"
Harry's puzzled eyes moved around the huge ward several times, and finally stopped in the direction of Hermione. He felt that something was attracting him to look over there.
"Yes, yes, right here. Come here, come and look at her hands."
Harry's eyes rested on Hermione and he noticed that she seemed to be holding something in her hand.
"Ron." He stepped forward and took the note from Hermione.
It was a page torn from a very old book. Harry couldn't wait to open it, and Ron also came forward.
Su Xingchen finally smiled like an auntie: What a good boy.
A light seemed to light up in Harry's mind. "That's the answer. The monster in the Chamber of Secrets is a giant snake. No wonder I can hear it but others can't. It's because I speak Parseltongue. The crowing of a rooster is fatal to the basilisk, so all the roosters raised by Hagrid have been killed. Spiders will run away when they see it. Every one of them can be matched."
He glanced around at the beds. "Everyone here is simply petrified because none of them looked the basilisk in the eye. Mrs. Norris through the water on the ground, Colin through the camera, and Justin probably through Sir Nicholas."
After a pause, Harry continued, "Sir Nicholas did see it, but he couldn't die a second time. Hermione already knew about the basilisk, so she and the Ravenclaw girl must have seen it through the mirror."
"What about the stars?" Ron asked.
Harry pondered, "I don't know... but there must be something."
Su Xingchen's face was filled with embarrassment. Uh... through the protective bracelet? Probably. Why was she the only one so unlucky?
"But how does it crawl around?" Ron asked again. "A big ugly snake crawling around, someone's bound to see it."
Harry pointed to the scrawled words on the bottom of the paper. "Here, Hermione wrote, pipe. The noise I keep hearing is in the wall."
Ron grabbed Harry's arm and said hoarsely, "The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets might be in the bathroom, in..."
"Myrtle's bathroom," Harry took over from Ron.
Su Xingchen nodded with satisfaction, they were all right.
Harry picked up the Invisibility Cloak, "Anyway, we should get going now."
Ron nodded and slipped into the cloak.
The two disappeared from Su Xingchen's sight, and the door was quietly opened and closed again.
Su Xingchen also decided to return to Gryffindor, as Hermione's soul might be there.
She is a ghost now. She can float instead of walking and can even pass through walls. Her speed is many times faster.
When she arrived at Gryffindor, Harry and Ron had not returned yet.
Su Xingchen walked around Gryffindor Tower but didn't see Hermione. Could she be in the library? That shouldn't be the case. How could she still be so eager to study even though she'd become a ghost?
When she finished her tour of the dormitories and returned to the common room, Harry and Ron had also returned. She squatted beside them and listened to them whispering about everything that had happened that day.
It turns out that Ginny didn't say anything. Didn't she die in vain?
For the first time, Su Xingchen felt a little aggrieved. After all, she had almost died. Her mood suddenly became very low. She didn't want to stay here any longer, so she walked out through the wall.
Su Xingchen floated around Hogwarts without any worries about getting lost.
She found Cedric in the Hufflepuff common room, sitting in a chair, lost in thought.
She floated over and sat down on the floor in front of Cedric, where he couldn't see her anyway.
"Hi, Cedric."
"You didn't go on patrol today?"
"Is it because there was another attack that the prefects won't let us go out?"
"Last time, I was so impulsive that I snatched away your ointment. I've been thinking about what to give you to compensate you. What do you want?"
"Otherwise, when I get better, I'll treat you to a feast, authentic Chinese food, so delicious you'll want to swallow your tongue."
Su Xingchen kept on chattering like a chatterbox, but Cedric certainly didn't answer her.
He seemed to be thinking about something, with a hint of worry between his brows, but he also seemed to be thinking about nothing, just simply in a daze.
"What are you thinking about? Worried about the basilisk?"
"Don't worry, you won't be in danger. Harry and the others will be able to resolve this matter soon."
Su Xingchen supported her cheek with one hand. She had to say that Cedric was the most handsome person she had ever met, except for those monsters in the Su family. He was completely worthy of the title of Hogwarts' school hunk.
He has a good personality and positive values. Such a good young man...
As if thinking of something, Su Xingchen lowered his eyes and his voice became a little obscure.
"Did you go to the corridor today because you knew it was me?"
"I actually never wanted to have a close relationship with you."
For the first time, she looked carefully at the young and handsome face.
"Because I know you're going to die."
"If you were a friend I cared about very much, and I knew your fate but was powerless to do anything about it..."
"I'm going to break down."
Su Xingchen's mood was up and down today, so he took advantage of the fact that the person in front of him couldn't hear him and poured out all his depression and grievances.
After venting her anger, she habitually patted her trouser legs and stood up. Looking at the boy in front of her who was still in the same position, she murmured in a low voice with a gloomy expression: "So you don't have to be so nice to me anymore, okay?"
I'm afraid I won't be able to resist the urge to change your fate.
After saying this, Su Xingchen did not linger and floated out of the Hufflepuff common room.
She continued to wander around Hogwarts, even taking the trouble to go to the Ravenclaw Astronomy Tower, but unfortunately she didn't see Hermione or anyone else.
Finally, she drifted towards the dungeon and Slytherin with a bitter face.
Su Xingchen floated into a room decorated in silver and green. There were some students inside. It was the Slytherin common room.
She walked around the lounge. Although many candles were lit, it still looked a bit eerie. She couldn't help but shiver and didn't dare to look at the wall where she could see the Black Lake.
Just because she is a ghost doesn't mean she has become braver.
She didn't even go into the library just now. She just stood at the door and shouted Hermione's name at the top of her lungs. She still remembered the horror of going to the library with Harry at night last year.
Su Xingchen found Draco pacing anxiously in a corner of the Slytherin common room, while Goyle and Crabbe looked a little nervous and uneasy sitting in nearby chairs, so she floated over.
But Draco just kept pacing back and forth with a grim face and said nothing.
Not far away, several Slytherin girls gathered together and whispered.
"Do you know who was petrified today?"
Oh, we're talking about her.
Su Xingchen floated over, wanting to hear what they were saying.
"I know. It's that Gryffindor girl named Xingchen Su." A girl with short black hair said with a malicious smile on her face. "She deserves it. I hate her behavior the most."
Su Xingchen was puzzled. Besides being a bit lazy, what else was she good at? She couldn't be so hated, could she? Besides, she didn't even know this black-haired girl.
"It's just that petrification gave her a good deal. If you ask me, I should..." The girl with short black hair made a gesture of wiping her neck.
Su Xingchen's eyes widened in horror. It couldn't be that serious! What kind of hatred or grudge was this?
"That's right." Several other girls also sneered in agreement.
"Shut up!" Draco rushed to the girl with short black hair angrily.
"Draco..." The girl with short black hair seemed frightened by his ferocity, "She's a Gryffindor."
Draco glared at her with blue-gray eyes and said viciously, "Don't let me hear your nonsense again. She will be better tomorrow night."
The Slytherin girls said nothing more and hurriedly left the common room and returned to the dormitory.
Draco returned to where he had been pacing. Goyle and Crabbe seemed even more nervous at his outburst.
Su Xingchen floated over with a faint smile on his face.
She had previously thought that Draco was so anxious because he was afraid. After all, he was such a "villain" in the original plot. It turned out that he was worried about her.
It seems that there are still many people who truly care about her, and she is not that much of a failure.
"When I get better, I'll treat you to a big meal. What do you like to eat, Draco? How about Chinese food?" Su Xingchen said to Draco with a smile.
As someone who wasn't good at giving gifts, the best gift she could think of was to treat him to a big meal.
Of course, she still talked to herself.
The sky began to brighten slightly, and the castle was not noisy as usual, but still silent.
The sunlight streamed in, and the corridors and classrooms were empty. Everyone was in the common rooms of their respective colleges.
After spending the whole night floating all over Hogwarts, Su Xingchen returned to Gryffindor.
Now she was sure that there was no one else but her.
She even tried to talk to the other Hogwarts ghosts when she met them, but surprisingly, they couldn't see her either.
So she guessed that she was the only one who was ejected from the body, and the souls of others might be trapped in their bodies.
As for why the ghosts couldn't see her either, Su Xingchen said she didn't know, as it was beyond her understanding.
