Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 765 Crisis in the Dark (2)

The deep roar echoed through the empty space, threatening to shatter everyone's soul. Zhang Hao struggled to his feet. "Everyone, stay alert! Prepare for battle!" His voice was hoarse but firm. Though exhausted, his eyes still blazed with fighting spirit. His clothes were tattered, blood oozing from his wounds, yet he stood like an unshakable mountain, offering everyone a glimmer of hope.

The woman gritted her teeth and forced herself to stand, her weak body trembling slightly. Her eyes were filled with fear, but seeing Zhang Hao's determined figure, a surge of courage surged within her. "Okay, let's go together!" she said, her voice weak but resolute.

The old man protected the little girl, his face solemn as he looked around. His brow furrowed, his heart filled with worry. "Don't be afraid, child. Grandpa will protect you," he whispered softly to the little girl. The little girl clutched the old man's clothes tightly and nodded, tears glistening in her eyes, but she didn't cry out loud.

The herbalist slumped on the ground, his face full of despair: "Is this ever going to end? How can we win!" His voice was tearful and his body was shaking.

The roar grew closer, and several massive figures gradually emerged from the darkness. These figures were even larger than the previous behemoths, and their shapes were even more bizarre. Some had multiple heads, and some were burning with flames. Their eyes flashed with a ferocious light, which made people shudder.

"What the hell is this?" The woman's eyes widened in fear. Her voice became sharp with fear, and her body involuntarily stepped back.

Zhang Hao took a deep breath and said, "No matter what it is, let's fight!" He gripped his sword tightly and rushed forward again. His figure was like a flash of lightning in the darkness, full of fearless courage.

However, he had just taken a few steps when one of the monsters swung its claws and knocked him back, landing heavily on the ground. His body rolled several times on the ground, his wounds torn even more severely, and blood stained the ground red.

"Zhang Hao!" The woman tried to help him, but was forced back by the flames spewed out by another monster. The flames burned in front of her, and the scorching heat made her hair curl.

The old man was extremely anxious. "This is not a solution. We must find a way out!" His voice was urgent and his eyes searched around quickly.

The little girl suddenly shouted, "There seems to be a passage over there!" Her voice was clear and loud, and it was particularly eye-catching in this tense atmosphere.

Everyone looked in the direction the little girl pointed, and they saw a narrow passage. The passage was filled with darkness, and no one knew what was hidden inside.

"Hurry up!" Zhang Hao shouted. He struggled to get up from the ground and limped towards the passage.

Everyone rushed towards the passage, with the monsters chasing them closely. Their footsteps were like thunder, shaking the ground.

A pungent smell filled the passage, and strange lights flickered on the walls, flickering and fading, making people feel as if they were in a nightmare.

"I don't know where this passage leads to," the herbalist complained as he ran. His breathing was rapid, and his voice was filled with anxiety.

"It's better than being caught by those monsters!" the woman replied. She kept walking, her only thought in her mind: to escape as quickly as possible.

Just then, a stone gate appeared in front of them, blocking their way.

"What should I do?" the old man asked anxiously. His hands fumbled with the stone door, trying to find the mechanism to open it.

Zhang Hao was looking for a mechanism everywhere, "Let's see if there is any way to open this door." His eyes were anxious and sweat kept running down his cheeks.

As everyone groped around, the monsters' footsteps grew closer and closer. The heavy footsteps seemed like a countdown to death, and every step was terrifying.

"Found it!" the little girl suddenly shouted. She found a small bulge in a corner.

Zhang Hao hurried over and pressed the button. The stone door slowly rose, and a beam of light shot out from behind it.

Without time to think, everyone rushed into the door.

Behind the door is a huge cave filled with all kinds of strange plants and crystals.

"What place is this?" asked the herbalist.

Before anyone could react, a sharp cry suddenly rang out from the cave...
