Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 766 The Test of the Mysterious Cave

Behind the door was a vast cavern, filled with all sorts of strange plants and crystals. The plants were twisted and colorful, some emitting a faint fluorescence, while the crystals refracted the light from the cave ceiling, creating a hazy patchwork of light and shadow.

"What kind of place is this?" the herbalist asked. His voice echoed in the empty cave, filled with deep doubt and unease. He stared wide-eyed at the strange and bizarre scene around him, his body involuntarily shrinking back.

Before anyone could react, a sharp cry suddenly erupted from the cave. The sound was so piercing it seemed to pierce the soul. Everyone covered their ears, frowning in pain. The cry was like countless sharp needles piercing their brains, causing a sharp pain in their heads.

"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice was drowned out by the sharp cry and seemed a little weak, but his eyes were firm as he stared at the direction of the sound.

A swarm of bat-like monsters swooped down from the cave's ceiling, their maws wide open, baring sharp teeth. Their fangs gleamed coldly in the dim light, sending shivers down their spines. The bat monsters' wings flapped, stirring up a gust of wind that whipped everyone's hair and clothes into a frenzy.

The woman quickly waved her magic wand, unleashing a magical shield that protected everyone. The shield glowed with a pale blue light, forming a semicircular protective shield. The bat monsters slammed into the shield, making a thumping sound, and each impact caused the shield's light to flicker.

The old man looked around anxiously for a way out, "We can't just sit here and wait to die. We must find a way to leave as soon as possible." His eyes were tense and anxious, and his forehead was covered with sweat.

Zhang Hao nodded and said, "Let's go deeper into the cave and see if there are other exits." His voice was steady and powerful, bringing a glimmer of hope to everyone.

Protected by a magical shield, they cautiously advanced deeper into the cave. The ground beneath their feet was slippery and uneven, covered in puddles of various sizes. Strange plants around them exuded an eerie aura, some even sprouting vines that attempted to grab their ankles.

Suddenly, a giant spider leaped out from the shadows nearby, its eight long legs like sharp spears stabbing at the crowd. The spider's body was covered in black hair, and its eyes gleamed with a ferocious light.

Zhang Hao, quick-witted and swift-handed, swung his sword at the spider's long legs. The sword collided with the spider's legs, sending up a shower of sparks. The spider screamed in pain, attacking them even more frantically.

The herbalist collapsed to the ground in fear, "It's over, it's over, I'm really going to die here this time." His face was pale and his eyes were full of despair.

The little girl bravely picked up a stone and threw it at the spider. "Don't hurt us!" she cried. Her voice was childish, but full of courage.

With everyone's concerted efforts, they finally repelled the spider. But before they could catch their breath, more dangers came one after another.

The temperature in the cave plummeted, and a thick layer of frost began to form on the walls. The cold air rushed towards them, as if to freeze their blood.

"What's going on?" the woman asked tremblingly. Her lips had turned purple from the cold and her body was shaking.

"I don't know, but we have to speed up!" Zhang Hao said. His teeth chattered, but he didn't stop.

As they continued forward, they saw an underground river in front of them. The water rushed and roared, emitting a cold breath. The water splashed and raged like an angry dragon.

"Should we cross the river?" the old man hesitated. He looked at the surging river, his heart filled with fear.

"There's no other choice. Everyone, be careful!" Zhang Hao said, stepping into the river first. The water was icy cold, instantly making his legs numb. But he gritted his teeth and struggled forward.

Everyone followed closely behind, stepping into the river. The force of the water was so strong that it made it difficult for them to move forward. Suddenly, huge shadows appeared in the water and quickly approached them. As the shadows drew closer, their hideous features gradually revealed...

It turned out to be a group of huge water monsters. They had sharp teeth and claws, bodies like fish but with thick limbs.

"Not good!" Zhang Hao exclaimed.

The water monsters attacked them, and they struggled desperately in the river. The woman's magic was restrained by the water, and its light dimmed. The old man was scratched by the monster's claws, and his blood dyed the river red.

The herbalist was knocked around by the water and almost lost consciousness.

"Everyone hold on!" Zhang Hao shouted. He swung his sword hard, repelling one water monster after another.

The little girl hugged Zhang Hao's waist tightly, her eyes full of determination.

At this critical moment of life and death, can they overcome the difficulties and find a way out?
