Chapter 388 I’m fine, don’t worry
Rosie leaned against the cave wall, her fingers clenching the stone knife. Her heartbeat quickened at the falcon's vigilance.
"Who?" Falcon growled in a hoarse voice, and the red light in his eyes that had not yet faded was particularly dazzling in the darkness.
At the cave entrance, snowflakes were pushed aside by an invisible force. Five figures gradually emerged, led by a dark-haired man with an oppressive aura. His amber eyes, sharp as knives, pierced straight into the cave.
Kyle glanced around the cave, his brow furrowed. "Where's Sissi?"
Falcon stood in front of Luo Xi, his fists clenched, the remaining strength in his body stirring. "Who are you?" He looked at the strangers warily. They were not wearing animal skin skirts, but some strange material he had never seen before.
This is not his world.
"You have no right to ask." Kyle cut him off coldly.
Rosie poked her head out from behind Falcon, her eyes alert and confused. Her gaze swept over the strangers, finally stopping at the silver-haired man covered in blood.
Kyle's amber eyes lit up instantly. "Sissi!" He practically forced the name from the back of his throat, his voice thick with a hint of suppressed emotion.
But Rosie's reaction made his heart sink. She looked at him as if he were a stranger he had never met. There was no familiarity, no closeness, not even a hint of recognition.
"Who are you?" Rosie asked, her voice full of defensiveness.
Kyle took a step forward, but was stopped by Falcon's cold gaze. Falcon's muscles were tense, ready to strike at any moment.
Kyle certainly wasn't afraid of him.
But this person obviously has a close relationship with Sissi, and Kyle won't act rashly before figuring out the situation.
"Sissi, it's me, Kyle." Kyle's voice trembled slightly, and a trace of pain flashed in his eyes. "Don't you remember me?"
Rosie shook her head, her gaze passing Kyle and landing on the scarred, silver-haired man behind him.
Her eyes suddenly lit up, like a traveler seeing an oasis in the desert.
"Yu?" she called softly, her voice full of disbelief and surprise.
Yu looked up at the sound, a complex expression on his frail face. He staggered forward a few steps, as if to greet her.
Rosie couldn't control herself any longer and rushed out from beside Falcon and headed straight for the rain.
The scene stung several of her companions.
Kyle's expression froze, the light in his eyes dimming. Lu Ye narrowed his rosy eyes, clenching his fingers into fists and then unclenching them. A rare crack appeared on Mike's stern face.
Falcon stood there, his fists clenched, a red light flashing in his eyes.
"Xixi, be careful!" Yu suddenly warned and reached out to stop Luo Xi who was rushing towards her.
Luo Xi stopped in confusion: "What's wrong?"
Yu pointed to the beast's corpse deep in the cave: "What is that?"
"Hawk killed him." Rosie looked back at Hawk, "He's very powerful."
Kyle glanced sharply at Falcon, examining him from head to toe. He noticed the red light that flashed from time to time in Falcon's eyes, and his pupils shrank slightly.
"Traces of evil thoughts." He whispered to Mike.
Mike nodded and looked at Falcon with the same vigilance: "He has the power of evil thoughts in his body, but he seems to be resisting."
Rosie's behavior was strange. She ignored Kyle and the others, but was unusually close to Yu.
Kyle walked forward and stood in front of Rosie. "Sissi, what do you remember? Do you know who I am?"
Luo Xi took a step back cautiously: "I don't know. Are you Yu's friends?"
Kyle's Adam's apple rolled, and he fought back the pain that surged in his chest. "Sissi, it's me. Don't you remember?"
Rosie took a half step back, warily sizing up the black-haired man in front of her. His amber eyes were sharp as knives, and his aura was so powerful it was suffocating, but there was a blank in her memory.
"Should I know you?" she asked in a tense voice.
A flash of pain flashed across Kyle's eyes, too real to conceal. It was fleeting, but Rosie caught it. A crack appeared in the Marshal's iron-blooded, cold mask, but he quickly suppressed it.
Lu Ye took a step forward, staring at her with his peach blossom eyes: "Xixi, we have been looking for you for a long time."
Luo Xi looked at this incredibly handsome face, but she didn't feel a trace of familiarity. Her eyes passed by Lu Ye, swept across the blond and blue-eyed Mike, and finally fixed on the silver-haired man covered in scars.
"Yu." Her voice softened, and gentle ripples appeared in her eyes.
Falcon stood aside, his knuckles white from clenching his fists. The light in Rosie's eyes stung him—a look of concentration and tenderness he had never seen in him before.
"You remember him, but not us." Kyle's voice was low and his eyes were as sharp as a knife.
Luo Xi shook her head and hugged herself helplessly: "I don't know who you are. I only know Yu and..." She turned to look at Falcon, "and Falcon."
Falcon's gloomy expression instantly brightened, a glimmer of joy flashing in his eyes. His chest rose and fell, as if he had just held his breath.
Mike squatted down, his blond hair shining brightly in the firelight. He looked at Luo Xi straight in the eye: "Xixi, do you have a headache or memory problems?"
"No." Rosie crossed her arms over her chest, building an invisible wall. "I remember everything very clearly. I lived with Yu, and then Yu went to find the healing stone, leaving Falcon to protect me."
As soon as these words were spoken, the temperature in the cave seemed to drop sharply.
Kyle's face paled instantly, and the light in his amber eyes twisted into a chaotic vortex. For the first time, cracks appeared on his normally stern face, like a crack in an iceberg struck by a hammer.
Lu Ye sucked in a breath of cold air, his slender fingers tightly clenching the corner of his clothes, his knuckles turning white. The light in his peach blossom eyes dimmed, like a candle that had been snuffed out.
Mike's blue eyes under his blond hair flashed with a hint of complexity, his lips were pressed into a straight line, and his muscles were tense.
Falcon stood beside Rosie, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, a hint of pride flashing in his eyes.
"Xixi, you really don't remember us?" Kyle's voice was hoarse, and the pain in his voice went straight to Rosie's heart.
Luo Xi shook her head, but her eyes were fixed on Yu. "How did you get hurt so badly?" The concern in her voice stung everyone present.
Sweat-soaked, rain-colored hair plastered to his forehead. Ruifeng's eyes shone with complexity, and he looked at Luo Xi with tenderness. The time tunnel brought back not only a scarred body, but also a head full of confused memories. The only thing that was clear was her. Sissi.
His headache was stabbing like a knife, but he wouldn't tell her because he didn't want her to worry.
Yu clenched her teeth, trying to suppress the severe pain in her head. She reached out her hand to rub the little female's frown, and smiled soothingly and healingly: "I'm fine, don't worry."
