Su Ming put on his headphones and nodded slightly, "Are you ready?"

"We can take action at any time." Lin Yue replied, with a hint of nervousness in his tone, but more of determination.

The two of them entered the R&D center silently. Lin Yue used her work ID to swipe open the door, and they entered a dimly lit corridor. Su Ming looked around vigilantly to make sure there was nothing unusual.

"We have to find where the equipment is stored." Su Ming whispered and led the way to a fork on the right.

Lin Yue followed closely behind, and she whispered into the headset, "According to the information I have, the equipment should be in the warehouse on the second floor underground."

"Let's go." Su Ming immediately quickened his pace. They needed to complete the mission before the security personnel discovered them.

The two of them made their way down to the second underground floor, where they encountered a patrolling security guard. Su Ming quickly gestured for Lin Yue to take cover, while he quietly approached the security guard and quickly subdued him from behind, preventing any possible alarm.

Night fell, the city lights flickering, as if hinting at some unnoticed danger in the world. Su Ming sat in his humble apartment, the laptop screen before him shimmering in a faint glow. He was sorting through the information he'd received from the company that day, but he knew deep down that what had happened today was unusual.

It all started with a conversation between him and Li Zhiming. During that conversation, Li Zhiming seemed to have doubts about Su Ming's background. Although the two remained friendly on the surface, Su Ming could sense a tentative edge in Li Zhiming's words. "Your qualifications are truly impressive," Li Zhiming had said during the meeting, with a hidden meaning. "Many of your past collaborative projects have involved high-risk areas, which is very consistent with our current needs."

"Yes." Su Ming maintained a professional smile. "I have always focused on high-return investment opportunities, and your company is clearly a rare and high-quality project."

Li Zhiming nodded slightly, but his deep eyes hid some emotions that Su Ming could not see through. "I hope we can continue to cooperate smoothly, and I hope you can understand our cautious attitude. After all, this project is of vital importance to us. I fully understand." Su Ming responded, but he knew that what was hidden behind this conversation was far more than what it seemed on the surface.

Things began to get more complicated over the next few days. Su Ming found that his movements within the company were gradually attracting more and more attention. Not only some ordinary colleagues, but even the security personnel seemed to be monitoring his whereabouts intentionally or unintentionally. This change made Su Ming realize that his identity might have aroused their suspicion.

One afternoon, Su Ming attended a routine meeting at the company as usual. After the meeting, Li Zhiming suddenly invited him to stay, saying he wanted to discuss some private matters. Su Ming didn't react, though he was already on high alert. "There's something I'd like to consult with you on," Li Zhiming said, sitting behind his desk. His tone seemed calm, but Su Ming keenly grasped the hint.

"You say." Su Ming responded with a smile, his expression still calm.

Li Zhiming pulled a document from a drawer and handed it to Su Ming. "This is a detailed plan for our upcoming project. I'd like you to review it for me to see if there are any potential risks." Upon opening it, he discovered it contained a wealth of technical details and complex tables detailing the flow of funds. These contents were undoubtedly the core secrets of the project, and the fact that Li Zhiming handed them over to him so readily was itself quite unusual.

"Mr. Li, I am very grateful for your trust in me." Su Ming pretended to look through the documents carefully, but he was secretly alert in his heart. This was obviously a test.

"After all, we're about to start an in-depth collaboration, and you must have a comprehensive understanding of our project." Li Zhiming smiled slightly, but something hidden behind that smile made Su Ming feel a chill. The office door suddenly opened, and a burly security guard walked in with an elusive expression on his face. "Mr. Li, there's a woman downstairs who claims to be Mr. Zhang's friend. She said she has something urgent to tell him." He knew it might be Lin Yue, but her sudden appearance disrupted his plans and made the situation more complicated.

Li Zhiming frowned slightly, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. He turned to Su Ming and asked, "Mr. Zhang, do you need to go down and handle this?"

Su Ming put down the documents and stood up, a faint smile still on his face. "Sorry, Mr. Li, my friend may have something urgent to attend to. I have to excuse myself for now."

Li Zhiming nodded and watched Su Ming walk out of the office, but his eyes never left his back.

Su Ming followed the security guard downstairs, pondering his next move. He knew this sudden incident might mean his identity had been exposed, and he had to react quickly. As he reached the company lobby, he saw Lin Yue, anxiously standing at the door. Upon seeing Su Ming, she immediately approached.

"Zhang Chen, I finally found you!" Lin Yue deliberately shouted in a slightly exaggerated tone, with obvious nervousness on her face.

Su Ming was slightly startled, but he quickly reacted and said cooperatively, "Miss Lin, what happened?"

"Something's happened to your brother! We must go to the hospital immediately!" Lin Yue almost pulled Su Ming out, as if not allowing him to hesitate at all.

Su Ming obediently followed her out of the company. During this time, he caught a glimpse of Li Zhiming standing upstairs overlooking them with unconcealable suspicion in his eyes.

It wasn't until they walked onto a quiet street that Su Ming whispered, "What happened? Why are you in such a hurry?"
