The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 9: College Journey
College Tour
Carl bids farewell to his family and embarks on the long journey to the magic academy. Clad in a black wizard's robe, he stands tall and proud, his steps firm, his eyes gleaming with anticipation for the unknown and a passion for exploration. The sunlight falls on him, casting a lonely yet hopeful silhouette. He knows that what awaits him is an adventure filled with challenges and opportunities.
After traveling along the winding road, Carl soon encountered several young wizards at a bustling magic inn, also on their way to the academy. Among them was a girl named Ellie, with long, fiery red hair that blazed like flames, a lively, passionate gaze, and a perpetually brilliant smile. There was also a boy named Tom, a burly, honest, and simple-minded boy with powerful magical powers, specializing in earth magic. Another was Leo, a seemingly frail but incredibly clever man, proficient in air magic, his eyes gleaming with cunning and intelligence.
At first, everyone just nodded to each other, but gradually they became familiar with each other as they exchanged magical knowledge. In a corner of the inn, they sat together and shared their magical experiences.
"I've been researching a way to combine light magic and water magic recently. Look, it's like this." Ellie said, and gently waved the wand in her hand. A soft light appeared in her palm, and there were water droplets sparkling in the light, like bright pearls.
"Wow, so beautiful! I also have a new discovery. I can use earth magic to create magical puppets." Tom said excitedly. He tapped the ground lightly, and a small earth puppet rose from the ground. Its body was solid, and although its movements were a bit clumsy, it could be seen that it contained considerable power.
Carl also shared some of his unique insights, particularly regarding complex magic circles, which captivated the others. Leo then demonstrated how he skillfully used wind magic to create invisible stairs in the air, allowing him to easily ascend to a higher place. In the process, they discovered that they shared a deep love for magic and unique perspectives, and a kindred spirit quietly blossomed between them.
However, the peaceful journey didn't last long. As they entered a dense forest, danger loomed. Bandits were a common sight in this forest, preying on travelers. As Carl and his companions were walking, they heard a cacophony of horse hooves and shouts.
"Oh no, it's robbers!" Leo said vigilantly.
In the blink of an eye, a group of bandits rushed out on horseback, holding various weapons and with ferocious expressions on their faces. They surrounded Carl and the others, their eyes flashing with greed.
"Hand over all your belongings and magical items, or we will be rude to you!" shouted a bandit who looked like the leader.
Carl and others quickly stood back to back, ready to fight.
"Humph, it's not that easy to steal our things!" Ellie said angrily. She waved her wand and a flame shot towards the robbers. The flame exploded among the robbers, and several robbers' clothes were set on fire. They rolled on the ground in panic.
Seeing this, the bandit leader roared, "Come on!" The bandits cast magic or brandished weapons and rushed towards Carl and the others.
Tom cast earth magic and built a solid earth wall around them. The wall blocked the bandits' first round of attacks, but the bandits' magical attacks continued to bombard the wall, and cracks began to appear in the wall.
"We can't just sit there passively on the defensive. We have to fight back!" Carl shouted. He chanted a spell and swung his wand, sending wind blades flying towards the bandits. The blades were incredibly sharp, severing several of the bandits' weapons.
Leo used wind magic to make his body lighter, moving freely among the bandits, occasionally using magic to disrupt their attacks. He concentrated the wind element in his hands, forming small tornadoes that swept up the bandits and threw them into the air.
The battle intensified, and the bandits seemed unwilling to give up easily. Their leader cast a dark spell, and the sky suddenly darkened. A powerful sense of oppression enveloped Carl and the others. In the darkness, the bandits' figures became blurred, making their attacks even more difficult to defend against.
"Everyone be careful, this is a dark concealing magic!" Carl warned loudly.
Ellie cast a light magic spell, "Bright Star", and a huge ball of light rose above their heads, illuminating the surrounding darkness. Under the illumination of the ball of light, the figures of the robbers were exposed again.
Carl seized the opportunity, boosting his magic power to the limit and unleashing a powerful magic combination—"Elemental Fury." He fused the four magical elements of wind, fire, water, and earth, creating a massive magical shockwave. The shockwave swept toward the bandits, sending them flying wherever it passed. Their magical defenses were rendered useless by the force.
After a fierce battle, the bandits were gradually defeated and fled in all directions.
"Let's chase them! We can't let them get the chance to hurt anyone else!" Carl said. So, they followed the direction the bandits fled and soon arrived at their camp.
The bandit camp was located deep in the forest, dotted with crude tents and traps. Carl and his companions cautiously entered the camp. During their search, Carl discovered a magical pocket with a unique marking inside a tent. The pocket emitted faint magical fluctuations, and the marking on the pocket was a complex pattern composed of mysterious lines and symbols. Carl was startled when he saw it; it was exactly the same marking he had discovered in his previous life while investigating a mysterious magical theft.
"This mark... why is it here?" Carl frowned, a sense of foreboding welling up in his heart. He realized that a mysterious force seemed to be manipulating these seemingly unrelated events, from the family's magical beast attacks, Leon's dark magic gestures, to the mark appearing in the bandit camp. All of this seemed like nodes in a vast conspiracy.
"Carl, what did you find?" Ellie came over and asked.
Carl told his friends about his discovery and concerns, and everyone's expressions became serious.
"Anyway, let's clean up this camp first and see if there are any other clues," said Tom.
So they searched the camp carefully, and although they found no similar marks, they did find some looted property and magical items. They decided to return these items to their owners or hand them over to a nearby town for disposal.
During this battle against the bandits and the search for the camp, Carl and his companions worked together to overcome difficulties. They supported each other in battle and trusted each other in the face of danger. This experience strengthened their bond. What had once been strangers traveling together for a common goal became comrades who could be trusted.
"Thanks to everyone, we were able to repel the bandits this time." Carl said to his companions.
"Yes, we are stronger together. We will face more challenges in the future." Ellie said with a smile.
"That's right. No matter what happens, we'll be together." Leo and Tom also nodded.
After a short rest, Carl and his companions continued their journey to the magic academy. As they moved forward, the surrounding scenery gradually changed, foreshadowing the approach of the magic academy.
In the distance, the outline of the Magic Academy gradually became clear. Nestled at the foot of a majestic mountain, it resembled a dazzling pearl set in this magical land. The academy's architecture was unique, blending Gothic spires with fantastical magical elements. A massive clock tower soared into the clouds, its surface engraved with ancient magical runes. The runes shimmered mysteriously in the sunlight, as if telling of the academy's long history. Every hour, a bell tolled, its melodious sound echoing for miles around. The sound imbued with magical power, invigorating any magician who heard it.
The academy's exterior walls are constructed from a special magical stone that emits a soft glow, transforming into a variety of wondrous colors depending on the time of day and weather. Sometimes it's a deep blue, like the ocean, symbolizing the students' profound pursuit of knowledge; sometimes it's a fiery red, like a blazing flame, representing the wizards' passion and enthusiasm for magic; and sometimes it takes on a verdant forest green, symbolizing the harmonious coexistence of magic and nature. Magical statues are placed at intervals along the walls. These statues are lifelike, ranging from majestic wizards holding wands casting powerful spells to fantastical magical creatures baring their fangs and claws. Each statue is imbued with enchantment, endowed with a certain protective power.
Through the academy's gates, a wide, tree-lined avenue is lined with ancient magical trees. These trees boast trunks so thick they require several people to wrap their arms around. Their lush branches intertwine to form a natural green dome. Sunlight filters through the leaves, transforming into specks of golden light, like stars falling to the ground. The magical trees are laden with a variety of magical fruits, some gleaming with alluring light, others exuding a strange fragrance, each imbued with a rich magical power. Occasionally, mischievous magical elves flit among the branches, their delicate bodies shimmering with multicolored light, like moving gems. These elves interact with passing students, some perching on their shoulders and observing them with curiosity, while others steal small items from students' hands and then fly through the air, drawing the students to chase them.
At the end of the avenue lies the college's central square, dotted with a massive magical fountain. In the center of the fountain stands an exquisite statue of a magical goddess, graceful and beautiful. From the tip of her wand, she blasts streams of crystal-clear water. These streams intertwine and transform in mid-air, forming a variety of magical patterns, sometimes ornate magic circles, sometimes ethereal magical creatures. Surrounding the fountain is a circle of colored magic crystals. Reflected by the sunlight and the water jets, the crystals radiate a brilliant, multicolored light, giving the entire square a dreamlike quality.
The square is surrounded by the academy's main buildings, including the main teaching building, library, magic laboratories, and student dormitories. The main teaching building is a magnificent structure, boasting countless spires and towers, each representing a different area of magical study. The building's gate is tall and imposing, intricately carved with the deeds of famous wizards from various eras, resembling a vivid magical history book. Entering the main building, one finds a vast atrium with a ceiling of transparent magical glass, which can adjust the intensity and color of light. Around the atrium are spiral staircases and corridors leading to the various classrooms and research rooms. The classrooms are neatly arranged with desks and chairs made of magical wood that automatically adjust to the students' size and habits. The blackboard is a massive magical slate that displays the teacher's lectures and can also record them for easy review after class.
The library is a large circular building that resembles an open magic book. The entrance door is crafted from bronze and engraved with the names and images of various magical books. Upon entering the library, the first thing that catches your eye is a vast circular hall. In its center is an information desk staffed with dedicated administrators to assist students. The hall is surrounded by rings of bookshelves, towering into the sky and stretching all the way to the top of the building. The shelves are filled with a wide variety of magical books, from ancient parchment scrolls to modern magical tomes. The books are categorized by magical category and level, allowing students to quickly find the books they need using the library's indexing system. Deep within the library, special collection rooms house precious and even forbidden magical materials, accessible only to teachers and students with special permission.
Magic labs are scattered throughout the academy, each with its own unique function and research focus. Some focus on the creation of magical potions, filled with bottles, jars, and magical herbs; others are devoted to the development of magic circles, with intricate patterns carved into the floors and walls; and still others are dedicated to the exploration of new magical elements and creatures, equipped with advanced magical detection equipment and special containers for imprisoning magical creatures. The labs are often filled with the roar of magical experiments and the flashes of light, as magicians explore the unknown realms of magic.
The student dormitories offer a warm and magical atmosphere. The dormitories feature a variety of architectural styles, ranging from compact wooden cabins to elegant stone houses, and even magical pavilions suspended in mid-air. Each dormitory is individually furnished to suit the student's preferences and magical attributes, with comfortable beds, magical wardrobes, study desks, and more. Surrounding the dormitories are beautiful gardens and recreational areas where students can relax and exchange magical experiences.
Yet, beneath this seemingly rosy exterior, the magic academy conceals an aura of mystery. As night falls, moonlight shimmers in every corner of the academy, and the magical statues, so vibrant during the day, seem to be imbued with new life. Their eyes flicker with an eerie light, silently observing everything within the academy, as if guarding some unknown secret. Shadows creep between the buildings, moving as if alive, shrouding secluded corners in darkness. Occasionally, faint whispers emanate from these shadows, muffled yet eerie, like calls from another world.
Deep beneath the academy's grounds lies a labyrinth sealed by a thick magic barrier. The maze is filled with an ancient and mysterious atmosphere, its walls engraved with long-lost magical runes. These runes radiate a faint blue light, faintly outlining terrifying images: the hideous faces of demons and the agonized gestures of the cursed. Hidden within the maze are mysterious chambers filled with strange magical items. Some emanate powerful magical energies, their purpose unknown; others are shrouded in black smoke, as if harboring an endless evil. Legend has it that only those with special bloodlines or those who can solve specific puzzles can find the exit, while those who venture in will often become lost, unable to escape.
Deep within the library, around the special collection rooms housing materials on forbidden magic, there was an invisible pressure. This pressure seemed to come from the knowledge itself. Those forbidden magics held immense power, but also came with a terrible price. The doors of the collection rooms were engraved with warning runes, glowing blood-red, as if warning anyone not to approach. Even in the daytime, a chilling atmosphere permeated the area, the temperature seemingly lower than elsewhere, sending a chill through the air. Occasionally, a cold breeze blew through the crack in the collection room door, carrying faint, shrill cries that sent shivers down one's spine.
Within some of the academy's ancient buildings lie forbidden areas. These areas are shrouded in powerful magical barriers, shimmering with intricate patterns, their light flickering and fading, as if breathing. Through the barriers, one can glimpse the dilapidated landscape within, the walls bearing the scars of magical impact, and the ground littered with fragments of ancient magical artifacts. No one knows what once existed in these areas, nor why they were sealed off, but their mysterious aura captivates curious students, despite the knowledge that violating the rules carries severe penalties.
Carl and his companions looked at the dreamlike magic academy with their eyes filled with wonder and longing. They knew that here, they would embark on a brand new magical journey, explore more magical mysteries, and at the same time, continue to pursue the truth behind the mysterious events.
"It's so beautiful here! I can't wait to start studying." Ellie said excitedly.
"Yes, there must be a lot of magical knowledge here that we don't know waiting for us to discover." Carl said with a smile.
