The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 10 First Impression of Magic Academy
First Impression of Magic Academy
The fatigue Carl and his companions had felt along the way vanished the moment they stepped into the magic academy. Standing before the gate, they gazed up at the academy, so vast it resembled a magical behemoth, their hearts filled with awe.
The academy's architecture resembles a frozen magical epic, each brick and stone emanating a mystical aura. The spire reaches into the sky, and in the sunlight, the magical runes on it shimmer with a multicolored light, as if a mysterious constellation from the sky has descended upon the earth. Gothic architecture seamlessly blends with fantasy elements, and the flying buttresses are carved with a variety of magical creatures, some with wings spread, some ready to take flight, some with claws and fangs bared, so lifelike they seem poised to leap from the walls at any moment.
"Wow, this place is more spectacular than I imagined!" Ellie's eyes opened wide, her fiery red hair fluttered in the breeze, and her face was filled with excitement and amazement.
"Yeah, look at those carvings, they're simply breathtakingly beautiful," Leo agreed, his gaze lingering on the building, the agility unique to wind magicians flickering in his eyes.
Tom smiled innocently. His burly figure seemed dwarfed by this magnificent building, but his eyes were filled with awe. "I can't believe we're going to learn magic here."
Carl remained silent, his gaze sweeping deeply around every corner of the academy, his heart surging like a raging sea. Everything here exuded a powerful magical pull, giving him an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had some connection to this place in a past life.
Entering the academy, they were dazzled by the facilities. Spacious magic training grounds were scattered throughout, their floors covered in intricate magic circles. Some of these circles were used to enhance training, while others simulated actual combat scenarios. In one training ground, a group of senior students were engaged in combat training. They chanted spells, and magical lights intertwined and collided in the air, creating a deafening roar.
Amidst this fierce battle, a senior student in blue magic robes waved his wand and shouted, "Ice Prison!" Instantly, the air around his opponent plummeted in temperature, and countless crystal-clear shards of ice condensed from thin air, quickly forming a massive icy prison, trapping his opponent. Each pillar of ice radiated a biting chill, its surface as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the surrounding magical light, like a crystal prison. Trapped within was a student in red magic robes. He frowned, but remained unfazed. He raised his wand and whispered, "Flame!" A raging torrent of flames erupted from the tip of his wand, instantly enveloping the entire icy prison. The flames burned fiercely, clashing with the ice. Where ice and fire met, vapor rose, forming a vast white mist.
At this moment, two more students joined the fray. A girl in a green magic robe waved her wand, muttering, "Vines entwine!" Instantly, countless thick vines sprouted from the edge of the training ground, spreading like snakes toward the red-robed and blue-robed students. The vines, covered in sharp thorns and emitting a faint green light, carved deep scars into the ground wherever they passed. These vines seemed to possess a mind of their own. Some rushed toward the battlefield of fire and ice, attempting to disrupt the magical confrontation between the two, while others spread out toward the surrounding students, seemingly intent on drawing everyone into the melee.
At the same time, a man in a golden magic robe cast his own spell. He pointed his wand toward the sky and shouted, "Shining Arrows!" Countless sharp arrows, condensed from the element of light, suddenly appeared from the sky. Their arrowheads shone with a dazzling light, as blinding as the blazing sun. These arrows rained down upon the vines, each one possessing immense penetrating power. As the arrows struck the vines, bursts of light emanated, and the affected vines instantly withered, dissolving into black powder that drifted through the air. However, the vines were numerous and constantly growing, and the arrows could not completely stop their spread.
Seeing this, the blue-robed student immediately changed his strategy. He gripped his wand tightly with both hands and swung it rapidly, muttering, "Ice Wind Blade Rain!" Under his control, the surrounding mist quickly condensed into countless sharp ice blades. Fueled by the howling cold wind, these blades rained down on the red-robed student like raindrops. The ice blades sliced through the air with a sharp whistling sound, like the Grim Reaper's scythe reaping lives. At the same time, he channeled some of his magic power, directing the ice blades to slash at the advancing vines, attempting to carve out a safe zone for himself.
A flash of determination flashed in the red-robed student's eyes, and he shouted, "Fire Shield!" A massive flame shield quickly formed before him. Like a blazing sun, it radiated a blazing heat. Ice blades struck the flame shield with a crackling sound, rapidly melting under the intense heat, transforming into droplets that fell. However, the sheer number of ice blades and their immense impact caused the flame shield to waver under the continuous onslaught, its glow gradually dimming. He also noticed the threat posed by the vines, so he directed his flames toward them, attempting to prevent them from approaching.
At that moment, the red-robed student seized the opportunity and, taking advantage of a gap in the ice blade's attack, cast a powerful spell: "Fire Dragon's Roar!" A massive dragon made of flames roared out from his wand, claws and fangs bared, its body ablaze with blazing flames, as it pounced on the blue-robed student. Wherever the fiery dragon passed, the ground was scorched black, and the air was filled with a burning smell.
The blue-robed student sensed a profound threat. He took a deep breath, concentrated all his magic, and shouted, "Absolute Ice Wall!" A massive wall of solid ice rose before him. The ice wall was several men tall and incredibly thick, its surface shimmering with a faint blue light and emitting a chilling aura. The Flame Dragon slammed fiercely into the ice wall, unleashing a burst of intense light and shockwaves. The entire training ground trembled under the powerful impact, and the surrounding magic circle activated, emitting a soft glow that protected the training ground from damage.
Under this intense impact, cracks began to appear on the ice wall. The blue-robed student's face paled, clearly draining a significant amount of his magic power. The red-robed student was also struggling, his breath dwindling from the continuous high-intensity magic he cast. But neither showed any sign of giving up, their eyes still brimming with fighting spirit.
Seeing the situation becoming increasingly chaotic, the girl in the green magic robe raised her lips slightly. She cast another spell: "Thorn Flower!" The previously ordinary vines suddenly blossomed with gigantic thorn flowers, a strange purple-red in color, their stamens emitting a pungent odor. These thorn flowers sprayed tiny needles at the surrounding students, laced with a paralyzing toxin. Once struck, the body would gradually lose consciousness.
The golden-robed student frowned. He waved his wand and chanted, "Purifying Light!" A soft white light emanated from the tip of his wand. Wherever it touched, the thorns of the thorn flowers fell, their toxins purified. Maintaining the purifying light, he walked toward the green-robed girl, clearly intent on stopping her from disrupting the battle.
"Look at how skilled they are in using magic. We still have a long way to go." Carl said softly, his eyes full of desire for powerful magic.
The library, a vast circular building, is a treasure trove of knowledge, waiting to be discovered. The entrance is crafted from ancient bronze, engraved with the names and images of various magical books, each seemingly telling the wondrous stories of the magical world. Entering the library, the scent of aged paper and magical ink washes over you, instantly immersing you in a sea of knowledge. In the center of the hall sits a vast information desk, where a white-haired administrator sits, his eyes gleaming with boundless wisdom. Towering bookshelves stretch all around, filled with a wide variety of magical books, from ancient parchment scrolls to modern hardbound tomes. Students wander among the shelves, some searching for specific titles, others quietly reading in corners, their faces brimming with a thirst for knowledge.
"There must be the information I need here to help me solve those mysteries." Carl thought to himself, and he couldn't wait to explore these bookshelves.
Laboratories are places filled with mystery and the unknown. Each lab has its own unique function and research focus. Some are lined with rows of bottles and jars filled with magical potions of various colors. These potions shimmer with a strange light within their transparent containers, like imprisoned magical spirits. On the lab benches, various magical herbs are placed, each emitting a different aroma, some refreshing and pleasant, others pungent and unpleasant. Magicians, clad in white lab coats, bustle through the labs, carefully mixing potions, each movement with unparalleled precision, for the slightest carelessness could lead to an explosion that could bring unexpected dangers.
Other laboratories were dedicated to the study of magic circles, their floors and walls covered in intricate, maze-like patterns. Magicians moved among these patterns, measuring tools and magic notebooks in hand, meticulously studying every detail. Some of the circles emanated powerful magical fluctuations, their light flickering, like portals to different magical worlds.
While exploring the academy, Carl and his companions came upon the academy's Wall of Honor. A massive stone wall, it was inscribed with notable figures and significant events from the academy's history. Amidst the numerous portraits and inscriptions, a blurry image caught Carl's attention. The figure depicted was a silhouette, clad in a black robe, standing tall and proud, exuding a mysterious and powerful aura. Carl was struck by the striking resemblance to his past self. Near the portrait were strange symbols, emitting faint magical fluctuations. Like an ancient language, they spoke a silent message.
"Look at this portrait, it feels so mysterious." Ellie came over and said while looking at the portrait.
"I've never seen these symbols before. They must have special meanings." Leo frowned, trying to decipher the symbols.
Tom scratched his head. "I don't understand it either, but this portrait doesn't look simple."
Carl remained silent, his gaze fixed on the portrait and the symbols. A strong premonition welled up within him. He felt that the portrait and the symbols concealed a profound secret, a secret perhaps connected to his past life, or perhaps even to the mysterious events he had been pursuing. He reached out, intending to touch the symbols, but just as his fingers were about to touch the stone wall, a powerful magical force surged from the symbols, pushing his hand back.
“This…” Carl looked at his hand in surprise. He knew that this was a powerful protective magic that prevented anyone from destroying or interpreting this information at will.
"Karl, are you okay?" Ellie asked with concern.
"I'm fine, but these portraits and symbols are a bit strange. I feel like they are conveying some message to me." Carl said with a frown.
In this magic academy, Carl not only felt the thick, almost tangible magical atmosphere, but also the intense pressure of competition. In the corridors, he could see students hurrying by, their eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge and power. Some discussed the latest magical theories, their words imbued with a profound understanding of magic; others demonstrated their newly invented magical techniques, surrounded by envious and admiring classmates. This competitive pressure made Carl realize that he couldn't afford to slack off. He had to study and train even harder to stand out in this place full of powerful individuals and solve the mysteries surrounding him.
"We can't fall behind. Everyone here is very strong. We must work hard to improve ourselves." Carl looked at his companions with a firm look in his eyes.
"Well, let's work together!" Ellie clenched her fists, her eyes burning with fighting spirit.
"That's right, we can't let the people here look down on us." Leo raised his chin confidently.
Tom nodded vigorously: "Let's do it!"
In the days that followed, Carl and his companions began a busy and fulfilling college life. They rose early each day and headed to their various classrooms for class. Inside, the professors, all authorities in the field of magic, explained the profound magical knowledge in a simple and engaging way. Carl eagerly studied, meticulously taking note of every point of knowledge, not missing a single detail. In practical magic classes, he actively participated in every experiment and training session, constantly trying out new magical techniques and combinations.
On the training grounds, Carl was even more diligent. He practiced fighting techniques with his companions, sparring with each other. After each match, they would carefully analyze their shortcomings and work on improvements. Carl often stayed behind to continue practicing after training. He waved his wand in the moonlight, sweat soaking his clothes, but his eyes remained firm.
However, the blurry image and strange symbol lingered in Carl's mind. He spent his spare time in the library searching for information on the college's history and the symbol, but his results were limited. The information he found was either vague or nonexistent. He also consulted some of the older professors, but they simply shook their heads, indicating they had no idea.
One day, Carl discovered a tattered old book in a corner of the library. The pages were yellowed and the edges were a little worn, but the text and images on it caught his attention. This ancient book seemed to be a record of the early history of the college, mentioning some mysterious people and events, some of which were similar to the portraits and symbols on the Wall of Honor.
"This may be a clue." Carl was delighted. He carefully opened the ancient book and began to read it carefully.
The text within the ancient tome was cryptic and difficult to understand, and Carl devoted considerable time and effort to deciphering it. He consulted other sources while attempting to understand the text. After several days of effort, he finally uncovered some useful information. This information hinted that the figure depicted in the portrait might have been an extremely important wizard in the academy's history, possessing powerful and mysterious spells that could have altered the course of the magical world. The strange symbols might be part of a code or ritual related to these spells.
"It seems I have to continue my in-depth research. This secret may be more complicated than I thought." Carl frowned, his heart full of desire for the truth.
At a magic discussion meeting at the academy, Carl shared his findings about images and symbols with his friends. The classmates were all attracted by his findings and expressed their opinions one after another.
"If these symbols are really a code, then we can try to crack them," said a classmate who is good at solving puzzles.
"Perhaps we can look for more clues from other historical relics of the college," another classmate suggested.
This discussion makes Carl realize that he is not alone in his pursuit of this secret. He and his classmates are full of curiosity and desire to explore this mysterious world of magic. They decide to form a group to delve into the secrets behind the portraits and symbols.
