Chapter 61 Space Rift Adventure (2)
Space Rift Adventure (Part 2)
After a thrilling struggle, Carl and his teammates, like a group of fearless interstellar adventurers, successfully broke through the devil's suction of the space crack and stepped into the mysterious interior of this space crack. Here, it seemed that all the chaotic elements in the universe were reveling in a carnival, a world completely beyond common sense.
Space debris flew around recklessly like countless razor-sharp blades, their edges gleaming with a chilling light. Each fragment resembled the Grim Reaper's scythe, slicing through the air with a chilling whistling sound. These fragments varied in size and shape. Some resembled massive shards of mirrors, reflecting a riot of light. Others were as tiny as grains of sand, yet held a force capable of rendezvous. The lights were as vibrant as the dreamlike aurora; red like fire, intense enough to burn the soul; blue like the ocean, deep enough to swallow a person whole; green like the eyes of forest elves, mysterious and cunning. They flickered and intertwined in disorder across space, forming a dazzling yet terrifying scene.
"Wow, have we broken into a cosmic kaleidoscope or a madhouse?" Tom widened his eyes and looked at everything around him in amazement. "The light show here is much cooler than the college celebration, but it would be better if there weren't these deadly fragments." As he spoke, he cast magic to form a protective layer around his body. The space fragments collided with the protective layer, splashing a string of magical sparks like fireworks.
"Don't just admire it, Tom! We need to find the last ingredient and get out of this place!" Lucy warned, observing her surroundings warily. A blue gemstone emanated from the tip of her wand, bringing a sense of stability to the surroundings, a stark contrast to the chaotic environment. "And we have to be careful of those space creatures; they won't just scare people like these fragments do."
"Yeah, those guys are like ghosts, appearing and disappearing mysteriously." Jerry nodded nervously, his eyes constantly scanning in all directions, trying to catch any trace of space creatures. "Maybe they're staring at us in some corner right now, ready to launch a surprise attack on us."
"Humph, no matter where they come from, we're not afraid. We've even defeated the Fire Elemental Lord, so why would we be afraid of these minions?" Tom waved his wand to give himself courage. "If they dare to come, I'll beat them to a pulp and let them know how powerful we are!"
At that moment, a space creature suddenly appeared. Its body seemed composed of flowing light and shadow, amorphous. One moment, it resembled a giant bird, its wings spread in vibrant colors; the next, it transformed into a slender snake, slithering through space. Its shimmering form blended seamlessly with the surrounding light and debris, making it difficult to distinguish. It rushed towards Carl at breakneck speed, distorting space wherever it passed.
"Be careful!" Carl shouted, and he quickly cast a spell. A golden curtain of light unfolded before him. The space creature collided with the curtain, emitting a sharp cry, like metal scraping against glass, painful to the eardrums. But it didn't retreat. Instead, it instantly vanished before the curtain, then reappeared from above Carl's head, attacking again.
"This guy can teleport!" Tom exclaimed. He quickly cast a spell, firing several wind blades at the space creature. The wind blades flashed through space like lightning, but missed, and the space creature disappeared again.
"Everyone, form a circle, back to back, and be aware of all directions!" Lucy shouted. She waved her wand, creating a layer of ice protection around them. Ice crystals formed by the ice magic shimmered around them, emitting a chilling aura, bringing a touch of coolness to the chaotic space.
The teammates quickly followed Lucy's instructions. They huddled together, each focused intently on the direction they were responsible for. At this moment, more space creatures appeared, moving like ghosts through the space debris and light, dazzling the eyes.
"They are like a group of naughty children playing hide-and-seek, except that this game is deadly." Jerry said with a wry smile, the wand in his hand trembling slightly, showing his inner nervousness.
"Don't panic, as long as we stay vigilant, it won't be easy for them to succeed." Carl encouraged, his eyes firm and calm, always ready to deal with attacks from any direction.
A space creature rushed toward Jerry. Jerry quickly cast earth magic, and walls of earth quickly rose from the ground. But the space creature easily passed through the walls and continued to pounce on him. At this critical moment, Tom cast a fire spell, and a huge ball of flame burned towards the space creature. The space creature seemed to be somewhat afraid of fire, and it dodged the attack with a flash of its body.
"Haha, it seems these guys also have weaknesses. They are afraid of fire!" Tom shouted excitedly.
"Don't be too happy too soon, Tom. We have to take advantage of this weakness and find a way to repel them, and then continue looking for materials." Carl said. He looked at the space creatures constantly shuttling around him and thought about how to deal with them.
During the battle, the teammates cooperated and supported each other. Lucy used ice magic to freeze a space creature approaching Carl, buying him time. Carl then used a powerful water magic to gather the surrounding space debris, forming a giant water ball, which he threw at the space creatures. After impacting the space creatures, the water ball temporarily trapped them, preventing them from continuing to attack.
"Come on, everyone. We can do this!" Lucy shouted loudly. Her voice echoed in the chaotic space, bringing strength and courage to her teammates.
After repelling a wave of attacks from space creatures, they took a breather and continued their search for the last material within this dangerous space rift. They carefully navigated through the space debris and the light, each step filled with hardship and danger, but their eyes always burned with the flame of hope, for they knew that the key to breaking through the world barrier lay here, and they could not give up.
"I think the materials should be nearby. Let's look carefully," Carl said, his eyes scanning the surrounding space, not missing any possible clues. His teammates nodded, and they regained their spirits and continued to move towards their goal, ready to face the new challenge.
