Dark Conspiracy

The moment Carl stepped out of the forbidden area, sunlight shone upon him, but it couldn't dispel the gloom cast by his new discovery. As soon as he returned to the academy, he noticed something strange. The once bustling campus was now filled with an uneasy atmosphere. The students' laughter had disappeared, replaced by whispers and fearful glances.

"Karl, you're back! Something big happened in the academy." Leo ran over hurriedly, his face full of anxiety.

"What's wrong? Leo." Carl's heart tightened, and a bad premonition came to his mind.

"Some classmates disappeared inexplicably without any warning. Also, there are some dark magical auras appearing around the academy from time to time, and everyone is very scared." Leo said breathlessly.

Karl's brows furrowed. He could sense the seriousness of the situation. "Let's go to the dormitory of the missing students first."

They arrived at a dormitory for a missing student. A faint darkness permeated the room, as if invisible eyes were watching them. Carl meticulously searched every corner, leaving no trace. Suddenly, he discovered dark magical runes hidden at the foot of the bed. These runes emitted an eerie black light, flowing slowly through the air like ink. The runes' lines were complex and twisted, like a curse from hell.

Carl crouched down, examining the runes carefully. His expression grew increasingly solemn. The runes' arrangement mirrored a portion of a large dark magic circle set up by Dracula during his previous life's battle. It had been a brutal battle, and Dracula's dark magic had nearly plunged the world into despair. This familiar pattern of runes made Carl realize that there might be a vast conspiracy behind this incident.

"Leo, look at these runes. The situation is worse than we thought." Carl's voice was low and serious.

"This...what does this mean? Carl." Leo looked at the rune, his eyes full of fear.

"This may be a dark conspiracy. I suspect Victor is behind it. These runes are related to the dark magic I encountered in my previous life. We must take action as soon as possible." Carl stood up, his eyes revealing determination.

After they left the dormitory, they immediately went to find the teachers in the college. In the teacher's office, Carl explained his discovery in detail to the teachers. After listening to him, the teachers' faces became very serious.

"Carl, are you sure these runes are related to the dark magic circle?" The dean frowned. He was well aware of the dangers of dark magic. If what Carl said was true, the academy would face a huge crisis.

"I'm sure, Dean. I can't be wrong. The arrangement of these runes is very unique. I've seen them before when I was fighting against the forces of darkness in my previous life. And the missing students and the appearance of the dark magical aura are definitely not a coincidence." Carl answered firmly.

"Then we can't just sit there and wait for death. We must launch an investigation as soon as possible to find out the mastermind behind this and rescue the missing students." A teacher said, and the other teachers nodded in agreement.

Carl and the teachers formed an investigative team and began a comprehensive investigation of the academy. They split into several teams, searching for clues throughout the academy. Carl and Teacher A teamed up and arrived at the academy's library. The library has always been a treasure trove of knowledge, but at this moment, Carl sensed something unusual.

They searched the ancient tome section of the library, hoping to find any reference to these dark magical runes. Karl's gaze quickly scanned the shelves until he stumbled upon a clue in a long-forgotten tome. The pages were yellowed, exuding an air of age, but the pattern within made Karl's heart race. It was a detailed diagram of a dark magic circle, and a portion of the runes within it were identical to those they had found in the missing student's dormitory.

"Teacher, look here. There are relevant records in this ancient book." Carl said excitedly.

Teacher A came over and frowned even more deeply as he read the contents of the ancient book. "Does it mention how to break it or what this magic circle is used for?"

Carl carefully read the text on the ancient book and said as he read, "It says that this dark magic circle is used to absorb life energy. Once completed, it will cause great harm to surrounding life. Moreover, to crack it, you need to find the core of the circle. Destroying the core can stop it from functioning."

"Then we have to find the center of the formation as soon as possible. We can't let this magic circle be completed." Teacher A said seriously.

Just as they were about to leave the library to continue searching for clues, a sinister laugh emanated from the depths of the library. The laugh echoed in the silent library, like the roar of a demon from hell, making people's hair stand on end.

"Who?" Carl shouted, raising his wand and looking warily in the direction of the laughter.

A figure slowly emerged from the darkness. It was a man in a black robe, embroidered with various strange symbols, emitting a strong aura of darkness. He wore a black mask, revealing only a pair of glowing red eyes that seemed to see through the soul.

"Do you think you can stop our plan? You are too naive." The voice of the man in black robe was low and hoarse, like the rubbing of polished stones against each other.

"Who are you? Did Victor send you?" Carl asked, the tip of his wand flashing, ready to fight at any time.

"Hmph, knowing too much will do you no good. You will all become victims of the great plan." The man in black robe said, and suddenly a black energy ball appeared in his hand and was thrown towards Carl and Teacher A.

Carl quickly cast a magic shield to block the attack of the black energy ball. The energy ball collided with the shield, splashing black sparks, like black fireworks blooming in the night sky.

"Be careful, Carl. He is very powerful." Teacher A warned, and he also cast magic to attack the man in black robe.

The man in black robes easily avoided Teacher A's attack and disappeared into the darkness. Carl and Teacher A chased after him, but when they arrived at the place where the man in black robes disappeared, they found that there was no one around.

"He ran away. We have to notify other teachers quickly." Carl said. He knew that this man in black robe was just the beginning and a greater crisis was yet to come.

After leaving the library, they reunited with the other teachers. They shared their findings, noting that similar attacks by black-robed individuals had occurred elsewhere in the academy. Furthermore, the presence of dark magic was growing stronger, and the number of missing students was increasing.

"It seems the enemy has already started to act. We need to speed up the investigation." The dean said, his eyes revealing worry and anger.

As he continued his investigation, Carl discovered some strange footprints in the academy's garden. These footprints were deep, crushing the surrounding plants and withering them. Traces of dark magic remained on the footprints. Carl squatted down and touched the footprints, sensing the magical power within.

"These footprints should be left by those men in black robes. They seem to frequent here." Carl said.

"Let's follow the footprints, maybe we can find their nest," suggested Teacher B.

They followed the footprints to the entrance of an abandoned basement in the academy. The basement door was tightly closed, and it was engraved with various dark magic runes. The runes flashed with strange light, as if warning intruders.

"There must be something wrong here, everyone be careful." The dean warned, and he cast magic to try to decipher the runes on the door.

After some effort, the dean successfully opened the door to the basement. A strong dark breath rushed towards him, and waves of painful groans came from inside, as if countless souls were suffering.

"The missing students may be in there." Carl said, gripping his wand tightly and leading the way into the basement.

The basement was dimly lit, with strange magical instruments placed around it. These instruments were stained with dark magic and exuded a sickening aura. In the center of the basement, there was a huge dark magic circle, flickering with black light. In the light, some missing students could be seen trapped within, their faces filled with fear and pain.

"We have to rescue them." Carl shouted, preparing to rush towards the magic circle.

"Wait, Carl. This magic circle is very dangerous. We can't act rashly." Teacher C stopped Carl. He looked at the magic circle with vigilance in his eyes.

Just as they were about to figure out how to break the magic circle, the black-robed men appeared again. This time, there were more of them, surrounding Carl and the teachers.

"You are finally here, just in time to become the sacrifice of our great magic circle." One of the men in black robes said, his laughter echoing in the basement, making people shudder.

"You won't succeed." Carl said angrily, his eyes burning with anger, ready to fight to the death with the man in black robe.

A fierce battle immediately ensued. The black-robed man's dark magic surged like a tide, and Carl and the teachers cast various spells to resist. Magical light shone in the basement, illuminating the dark space.

During the battle, Carl discovered that although these black-robed men were numerous, their magic seemed to revolve around the dark magic circle. He guessed that if the magic circle was destroyed, the power of the black-robed men might be weakened.

"Teacher, let's concentrate our strength to attack the magic circle and destroy it." Carl shouted.

Upon hearing Carl's suggestion, the teachers launched an attack on the magic circle. Their magic struck the circle, causing it to tremble violently, with a black light flickering. Seeing this, the black-robed figure began to frantically attack Carl and the teachers, trying to stop them from destroying the magic circle.

"Don't give up, we are almost there." The dean shouted loudly, and he cast a powerful spell towards the core of the magic circle.

After a fierce battle, Carl and the teachers finally succeeded in destroying the dark magic circle. With a flash of dazzling light, the magic circle collapsed, and the students trapped within were rescued. Without the support of the magic circle, the black-robed figure's power was greatly reduced, and he began to retreat.

"You can't escape." Carl took advantage of the situation and pursued them. He cast a powerful spell, knocking several black-robed men to the ground. The other black-robed men saw that the situation was not good and fled the basement one after another.

"We succeeded, Dean." Carl looked at the rescued students, his heart filled with relief.

"Yes, but this is just the beginning. We must thoroughly investigate this conspiracy, find Victor, and prevent them from attacking the academy again." The dean said, his eyes revealing firm determination.
