The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 28: Test in the Tower (4)
Test in the Tower (IV)
Carl and his teacher passed through the radiant door and stepped onto the fourth floor of the Magic Tower. As they entered, a sharp chill rushed across their faces, like countless icy knives slicing through their skin. It felt like a world of ice and snow, surrounded by crystal-clear walls of ice. The ice walls reflected a cold light, illuminating their wary faces.
"This floor brings a new challenge." Carl tightened his clothes to try to resist the cold. The breath he exhaled instantly condensed into white mist in the air.
"That's right, stay alert, Carl." The tip of the wand in the teacher's hand flickered with a warm light, barely dispelling some of the chill for them.
Amidst this icy landscape, they discovered some bizarre ice sculptures. These sculptures varied in form: some resembled ferocious magical beasts, their claws bared, ready to pounce at any moment; others resembled graceful wizards, their wands pointed in various directions, as if casting some powerful spell. However, these ice sculptures were not static; they seemed imbued with some mysterious power, slowly moving.
"These ice sculptures don't look simple. They may be obstacles to our progress." Carl said, his eyes fixed on the ice sculpture of a magical beast closest to them. Its sharp claws scratched across the ice, leaving deep marks.
"Pay attention to their movement patterns and don't act rashly." The teacher reminded him, his eyes scanning the surrounding ice sculptures, trying to find the pattern of their movements.
They moved forward cautiously when suddenly, a magical ice beast rushed toward them. Its run stirred up a gust of cold wind, sending shards of ice flying. Carl quickly cast wind magic, trying to deflect the magical ice beast, but the ice sculpture remained unmoved and continued to pounce on them.
"Its power is very strong and it is not affected by wind magic." Carl shouted. He dodged sideways and the claws of the ice sculpture magic beast grazed the corner of his clothes, tearing a hole in his clothes.
"It seems that ordinary magic has little effect on them. We need to find their weaknesses." As the teacher spoke, he used his wand to release a flame magic, hitting the ice sculpture of the magical beast. The flame burned on the ice sculpture for a moment, but soon went out. The ice sculpture only melted slightly on the surface, but its speed did not slow down at all.
While dodging the ice sculpture's attacks, Carl observed it carefully. He discovered that as the ice sculpture's magical beast moved, there were faint flashes of magic within its body. These flashes seemed to be the key to its movement.
"Teacher, I found out. There are magical flashes inside the ice sculptures. That may be their weakness." Carl shouted.
The teacher followed Carl's gaze and nodded. "Let's try to attack those shining points."
Carl and the teacher began to focus their magic power, attacking the glittering spot within the ice beast. When their magic struck the glint, the ice beast cracked with a resounding sound, cracks appearing on its body, and its movements became sluggish. They seized the opportunity to intensify their attacks, and eventually, the ice beast shattered into a pile of ice.
"Success! But there are more ice sculptures." Carl looked at the other ice sculptures slowly moving around him, and a sense of urgency surged in his heart.
They continued to fight the ice sculptures, each time they had to precisely attack the magic flash point inside the ice sculptures to destroy them. During the battle, Carl discovered that the magic flash points of these ice sculptures had different locations and flashing frequencies, some on the head, some on the abdomen, and the flashing rhythm was also fast and slow.
"The distribution of weaknesses and flickering frequencies of these ice sculptures follow a certain pattern. We need to master it as soon as possible." Carl said, his forehead covered with sweat, steaming in the cold environment.
After a hard fight, they gradually figured out the patterns of the ice sculptures and successfully destroyed most of them. However, after the last few were destroyed, the entire space began to shake violently. Huge cracks appeared on the ice wall, as if this world of ice and snow was about to collapse.
"Oh no, this may be a new danger signal." The teacher shouted, and he grabbed Carl's arm to prevent them from being separated by the violent vibration.
As the tremors intensified, a large amount of ice and water gushed out from the cracks in the ice wall, sweeping towards them like a raging torrent. The sound of the rushing ice water roared in their ears, like the roar of death.
"We have to find a place to hide." Carl said anxiously. He looked around and found a raised ice platform not far away, which seemed to be the only place in this space where he could take temporary refuge.
They quickly ran towards the ice platform, the icy water chasing them closely. Just when they were about to be submerged by the icy water, they successfully climbed onto the ice platform. The icy water continued to crash under the ice platform, splashing high, and the cold water droplets hit them, making them shiver.
"We are safe for now, but we can't stay here forever." The teacher frowned as he looked at the rising ice water.
Carl searched around the ice platform for clues to escape. He found some ancient runes on one side of the ice platform. These runes were partially covered by ice, but they still emitted a faint magical power.
"Teacher, there is a rune here. It may be a clue to leaving." Carl squatted down, brushed off the ice on the rune with his hand, and observed it carefully.
The teacher came over and studied the runes with Carl. They were incredibly complex, interwoven like a mysterious scroll. Carl attempted to decipher their meaning, discovering that they seemed to tell an ancient story of ice magic, with a key element: the Ice Key.
"Ice Key? What does this mean? Do we have to find a key to leave here?" Carl asked puzzledly.
"Perhaps these runes are hinting to us that the key is somewhere in this space. We must find it before we are submerged in the icy water." The teacher said, a hint of worry in his eyes.
They began searching the ice platform and the surrounding ice walls for clues to the Ice Key. Carl noticed some oddly shaped ice blocks at the edge of the platform, similar in shape to the key depicted on the runes. He picked up a block and examined it carefully, discovering tiny magical patterns within it that echoed the runes on the platform.
"Teacher, look at these ice cubes. They may be related to the Ice Key." Carl said excitedly.
The teacher took the ice cubes and felt their magic. "Yes, we need to find a way to combine these ice cubes into the shape of a key."
They began to search for other similar ice blocks on the ice platform, and then tried to combine them according to the instructions on the runes. In the process of combining, they encountered some difficulties. The magic patterns of some ice blocks required special methods to match.
"The pattern on this block of ice needs to be rotated counterclockwise to match this one," Carl said as he carefully adjusted the position of the ice. After many attempts, they finally combined the ice blocks into a giant ice key.
The moment the Ice Key was completed, it emitted a dazzling blue light, illuminating the entire icy space. In the blue light, the surrounding ice and water began to rapidly recede, and the cracks in the ice wall gradually healed.
"We succeeded!" Carl breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at the Ice Key in his hand, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment.
As the icy water receded, a new door appeared before them. It emanated a soft blue light, echoing the glow of the Ice Key. Carl approached the door with the Ice Key. As the Ice Key approached, it automatically opened, revealing a mysterious, ancient aura.
"There must be more secrets behind this door." Carl said, and he and the teacher walked through the door, ready to face new challenges.
Inside the door was a space filled with light and shadow. Countless rays of light weaved through the space, forming a series of brilliant and colorful images. Some of these images were beautiful magical landscapes, while others were fierce magical battles. It was as if a scroll of the history of the magical world was playing before their eyes.
"It's so beautiful here, but also so mysterious," Carl exclaimed, his eyes deeply attracted by the light and shadow scenes.
"Don't be fooled by appearances, Carl. There must be a mystery here that we need to solve." The teacher reminded him. He carefully observed the light and shadow pictures, trying to find clues from them.
While observing the light and shadow images, Carl discovered that these images were not played randomly. There was a certain logical order between them. The magical elements in some images would appear in different forms in other images, and the switching of images also had a specific rhythm.
"Teacher, these pictures have a sequence, and we need to find their pattern," said Carl.
They began carefully recording the elements and transitions within the images. Carl discovered a unique magic mark, one that appeared in a pattern of positions and timings across the different frames. He suspected this mark might be the key to solving the puzzle.
"Let's follow this magic mark." Carl said, pointing to the magic mark on the screen.
They followed the clues of the magic marks and shuttled through the light and shadow scenes. As they went deeper, the light and shadow in the scene began to become more complicated, and some false marks appeared, interfering with their vision.
"Be careful of these false signs and don't be misled by them." The teacher reminded him, and he concentrated and carefully distinguished the real and fake signs.
Carl also observed the picture intently. With his keen perception of the subtle differences in magic marks, he successfully avoided false marks. When they followed the magic mark to a huge light and shadow picture, the picture suddenly stopped playing, and the surrounding light all converged on this picture.
A huge magic circle appeared on the screen. There were some vacant positions on the magic circle, and these vacant positions seemed to require them to be filled with specific magic elements.
"This should be the last puzzle on this level." Carl said as he looked at the magic circle.
"We need to find the magic elements that need to be filled in based on the previous clues." The teacher replied.
They began to recall the various elements and details from the previous light and shadow image, trying to find clues related to the vacant position of the magic circle. Carl continued to sort out the information in his mind, and he remembered some special magical items that appeared in the image. The magical properties of these items seemed to match the requirements of the vacant position of the magic circle.
"Teacher, I think we can use the magical properties corresponding to those special magic items to fill these gaps." Carl said.
They began to cast spells, injecting magic power into the vacant spaces within the magic circle according to specific attributes. As the magic power was injected, the magic circle began to glow, growing brighter and brighter until it finally illuminated the entire space. Within this glow, a passageway leading to the fifth floor appeared.
"We succeeded again, Carl. Your observation and analytical skills are getting stronger and stronger." The teacher praised.
"Thank you, teacher. Let's move on." Carl said, his eyes full of expectation and determination.
