The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 27: Test in the Tower (3)
Test in the Tower (Part 3)
Carl and his teacher stood before the stone door engraved with mysterious runes. The surrounding magic surged like a turbulent undercurrent, quietly flowing through the air. Carl took a deep breath, slowly extended his hand, and pressed it against the stone door, muttering the opening spell. With the incantation, the stone door slowly opened, and a soft light shone through, illuminating their slightly nervous faces.
Entering the third floor, it felt like a vast magical maze. Strange lights flickered on the surrounding walls, interweaving into various intricate patterns. A quiet and mysterious atmosphere permeated the space, as if every inch of air whispered ancient secrets.
"This looks like a place full of puzzles." Carl said softly, his eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement as he was deeply attracted by the surrounding environment.
"Yes, we have to be careful, these puzzles will not be easy." The teacher responded, gripping his wand tightly and observing his surroundings warily.
As they walked forward, the first puzzle soon appeared before their eyes. It was a magic circle composed of light, suspended in mid-air. The runes on the magic circle flickered and changed constantly. Next to it was an ancient stone tablet with some vague words engraved on it.
Carl leaned closer to the slate and carefully deciphered the writing. "This is a record of magical history, seemingly describing an ancient magical war, and this magic circle..." He frowned, lost in thought, his mind rapidly searching for relevant knowledge.
"The changes in this magic circle may be related to a key element of the war mentioned on the stone tablet." The teacher suggested.
Carl nodded and began to carefully observe the magic circle. He noticed that the runes flickered in a pattern: some flashed quickly, others slowly, and the intervals between them varied. He remembered a book on ancient magic circles he had read in the college library. It mentioned a similar method of interpreting magic circles, linking rhythmic changes to historical events.
"I think I have an idea," Carl said. He began to follow his understanding, touching the runes on the magic circle with his wand, adjusting their flashing frequency. As he operated, the magic circle's light gradually stabilized, eventually forming a clear pattern—the flag emblem of one side in the war.
"Well done, Carl. It seems that your knowledge reserves have played a big role." The teacher praised, his eyes full of satisfaction.
With the first puzzle solved, they continued on their journey, and more puzzles followed. Some required a deep understanding of magical theory to answer, and these questions were engraved on crystal pillars. Only when the answers were correct would the crystal pillars release light leading to the next step. Other puzzles required restoring incomplete magic circles, whose fragments were scattered everywhere, and they needed to find the correct order to piece them together.
Carl displayed remarkable intelligence in the face of these puzzles. When faced with questions about magical theory, he drew on the knowledge he had eagerly studied in the library, answering them quickly and accurately. Every time he answered correctly, the crystal pillars shone with light, a celebration of his wisdom.
In reconstructing the magic circle puzzle, he first carefully observed the runes and traces of magic flow on each fragment, then constructed various possible combinations in his mind. Sometimes he squatted on the ground, moving the fragments around, and sometimes he stood up to examine the overall layout from a distance.
"This fragment should be placed here. Its magic flow aligns with this location," Carl muttered to himself, placing a fragment emitting a blue glow in a corner of the magic circle. After repeated attempts, the incomplete magic circle was finally successfully restored, emitting a dazzling light and opening a new passage.
However, while solving a seemingly ordinary puzzle, Carl encountered a new situation. The puzzle was a massive mural depicting various magicians performing a mysterious ritual. The mural's colors were somewhat faded, but it still contained a rich message. In the corner of the mural, a unique set of symbols, seemingly disordered, yet strangely familiar to Carl.
"Teacher, look at these symbols, I seem to have seen them somewhere." Karl frowned and pointed at the mural.
The teacher stepped forward and took a closer look. "They are indeed a little strange. They don't look like ordinary magical symbols."
Carl stared at the symbols, his mind reeling. Suddenly, a flash of shock crossed his eyes. "I remember now. These symbols are related to a magical experiment I participated in in my past life. That experiment was to explore a new method of magical energy conversion, and these symbols appeared at a crucial stage in the experiment."
"This is an amazing discovery, Carl. It seems that this forbidden area is inextricably linked to your past life." The teacher was also very surprised.
Carl carefully examined the mural and discovered that other elements on it seemed to be related to the magical experiment. The magicians' positions and gestures during the ritual, as well as the magical props they used, all subtly echoed the details of the experiment in his memory.
"Could the answer to this puzzle be related to the results of that experiment?" Carl pondered. He began to recall every step and result of the experiment, trying to find a clue to solve the mural puzzle.
As he recalled the events, he remembered a detail he had overlooked in the experiment—the reverse flow of magical energy under certain conditions. He re-examined the mural and discovered that the magicians' gestures and positions seemed to indicate the direction of energy flow.
"Teacher, I think the key to this puzzle lies in solving it by following the reverse direction of energy flow suggested by the mural," Carl said excitedly.
Following Carl's instructions, they began to cast magic on the mural, directing the magical energy in a specific direction. As the magic flowed, the symbols on the mural began to glow, and the light gradually converged at the center of the mural, forming a new symbol. This symbol shone with a strange light, illuminating the entire space.
"We did it!" Carl shouted excitedly.
As the mystery unfolded, Carl developed new theories about the origins of this forbidden area. He suspected it might have been the secret base of a powerful magical organization in his past life, and that these puzzles were created to protect a crucial secret. This thought fueled his anticipation for the next exploration.
After solving a series of complex puzzles, they arrived at the final puzzle on this level. This puzzle was a giant Rubik's Cube, with a magic rune on each grid. The runes constantly flickered and shifted, and the entire cube exuded powerful magical fluctuations.
"This Rubik's Cube doesn't look simple. Its magic fluctuations are very strong." The teacher said with a frown.
Carl walked around the Rubik's Cube and discovered a special connection between certain faces. The runes flickered in a similar pattern on these faces. He guessed that the Rubik's Cube needed to be solved by following the specific relationship between the faces.
"Teacher, I think we need to find the connection between these faces and then adjust the runes in the correct order." Carl said.
They began carefully observing the flashing patterns of the runes on each face of the Rubik's Cube, recording their patterns. Carl discovered that the flashing order of the runes on three of the faces had a multiple relationship, and he tried to synchronize the runes on these three faces according to this multiple relationship.
As he operated, the magic fluctuations of the magic cube began to change, and some of the originally chaotic runes gradually stabilized. But this was only the first step, and the runes on other sides needed to be adjusted.
Carl continued to search for patterns among the other faces. He discovered that the intervals between the flashing runes on some faces correlated with the number of times specific runes appeared on other faces. After a long period of observation and experimentation, he finally found a pattern among all the faces.
"Now!" Carl shouted. He and his teacher simultaneously cast magic, adjusting the runes on the Rubik's Cube according to the pattern they had discovered. The Cube emitted a powerful light, and within it appeared a door leading to the fourth floor.
"We did it, Carl. Your intelligence is amazing." The teacher patted Carl on the shoulder, his eyes full of approval.
"Thank you, teacher. But we must continue to move forward. There are still more secrets waiting for us to uncover." Carl said, his eyes full of determination and expectation. They walked through the door and headed towards the fourth floor of the magic tower, ready to face new challenges.
