Legacy: Miracle

Chapter 2 A Resolute Decision

Guided by the spirit crane and filled with longing, Yun Yi set out on the journey back to Yunyin Village. The setting sun poured down like molten gold, painting the sky a brilliant orange-red. The afterglow, like fine threads, penetrated the sparse leaves, scattering on the old locust tree at the village entrance, draping the small mountain village in a mysterious and warm veil. The golden glow danced among the leaves, like nature's most exquisite tapestry, adding a touch of extraordinary charm to the tranquil village.

Beneath the old locust tree, the villagers were busy packing up their farm tools. Their faces were filled with a mixture of satisfaction and exhaustion, but their eyes revealed their love for life and their perseverance. When Yun Yi appeared at the village entrance, the villagers stopped what they were doing and gathered around him curiously, as if he were a wanderer returning from afar, bringing back unknown stories.

An elderly villager, his face crisscrossed with wrinkles, the marks of time, but his smile was as warm as a spring breeze, as if it could instantly melt the ice in one's heart. He asked with a smile, "Yun Yi, why are you back so early today? Did you find something delicious? Bring it out for everyone to try." His tone was filled with closeness and anticipation for Yun Yi.

Yun Yi shook his head, his expression solemn, at odds with the relaxed atmosphere. He took a deep breath, as if to draw all his courage into his chest, and then slowly spoke, his voice trembling with a barely perceptible tremor: "Dear uncles and aunts, I have something I want to discuss with you." His eyes swept across the faces of the crowd. Each familiar face carried his deep affection and attachment to this village, and it also strengthened his resolve.

Seeing this, the villagers dropped their smiles, gathered in a circle, and listened intently. Their eyes were filled with concern and curiosity for Yun Yi, as if they were all awaiting important news. Yun Yi took another deep breath and slowly recounted the story of his encounter with the spirit crane and the legend of the divine ruins. His voice was deep and powerful, and every detail was vividly portrayed, as if the mysterious valley was right before his eyes, evoking a longing.

The villagers' reactions varied. Some opened their mouths wide in surprise, as if they could swallow an egg, their eyes filled with curiosity and shock at the unknown. Some frowned in worry, their eyes filled with uneasiness and anxiety, as if they had sensed the coming storm. Even more voices of dissuasion rose and fell, like a tide.

"Yun Yi, the ruins of God are just a legend. No one has ever seen them. Don't take any risks!" A middle-aged uncle said earnestly. There was worry and reluctance in his eyes, as if he was watching his child walk towards unknown danger.

"Yes, it's too dangerous for you to go alone. You'd better stay in the village and we will all take care of you together." Another aunt echoed, her voice full of maternal care and warmth, as if she was persuading a disobedient child.

Yun Yi listened to the villagers' words of persuasion, a warm feeling welling up in his heart. He knew these people genuinely cared for him, their words filled with kindness and concern. But his inner longing remained unshaken by these words; instead, they only strengthened his resolve to pursue his dream. He looked up into the distance, his eyes gleaming with a determined light, as if they could pierce the night and see into the forgotten valley.

"Thank you all for your kindness, but I have made up my mind. I can't always rely on your help. I have to rely on my own strength to change my destiny. Regardless of whether the ruins of God exist or not, I will give it a try." His voice was firm and powerful, and every word seemed to burst out from the depths of his heart, with unquestionable determination and courage.

Seeing Yun Yi's resolve, the villagers stopped talking. They quietly prepared some dry food and clothing for him, hoping he'd endure less hardship on his journey. As night fell, Yunyin Village was enveloped in a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, broken only by the occasional chirping of insects. Moonlight streamed across the earth like water, adding a poignant touch to Yun Yi's departure.

Yun Yi, carrying a simple bag, stood at the village entrance, bidding farewell to the villagers. His eyes held a mixture of longing for the future and gratitude for the villagers. The village chief approached, patted him on the shoulder, his voice echoing through the night sky: "Yun Yi, be careful! We're all here waiting for your return." His tone was filled with concern and expectation for Yun Yi, but also with a subtle hint of worry.

Yun Yi nodded, a lump in his throat. He turned and set out on the road to the unknown, each step heavy yet resolute. His figure faded into the night, leaving behind only a trail of determined footprints and the villagers' complex gazes. The mountain road was rugged, the night dark, but Yun Yi's heart was filled with unprecedented light and hope.

He looked up at the starry sky, as if he could see the injured crane silently watching him from a corner, giving him invisible strength and courage. And shortly after Yun Yi left, the injured crane quietly flapped its wings and flew high. It seemed as if, in its own way, it silently protected this brave young man, accompanying him through every difficult journey.

"Yun Yi, you must come back safely!" The village chief's voice echoed again in the night sky, filled with endless concern and blessings. Although Yun Yi had gone far away, the warmth and strength from the village remained in his heart forever, becoming his strongest support on his journey forward.

"I will, Village Chief, I will definitely come back safely." Yun Yi responded silently in his heart. His eyes became more determined and his steps became more steady. He knew that no matter how difficult the road ahead was, he would bravely walk on until he found his own piece of sky.
