HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob
Chapter 43 Sorry, I already have an appointment
After sending Narilian to the Gryffindor common room, Ernest took the sad Justin away to get textbooks for several people.
As soon as he entered the classroom, Ernest found that Professor Lockhart, the culprit who released the elves, was gone, and only Harry and the others were left cleaning up the elves inside. He stopped.
"Hello, friends, let's get our textbooks!"
Justin greeted them generously and went straight to the front row to pick up Nalilian's textbook and put it in her backpack.
This made Harry, who was catching elves, stop and look at him.
"Isn't that Lillian's?"
Hermione, who was casting a freezing spell on the elves to make them fall from mid-air, spoke quickly after seeing this.
Ron looked over too.
"I got it for Lillian."
Facing the gazes of the three people, Justin responded as if it was a matter of course while holding Nalilian's backpack.
"We can get it back for her," Hermione said, looking at Harry, her heart suddenly furious.
She had originally planned to let Harry deliver it, but now that the other party had come to her door, Harry still kept his head down and said nothing, which made her furious.
"Don't bother, Lillian is waiting," Justin refused with a big silly smile on his face, making it hard to tell whether he was really stupid or just pretending.
"Let's go, Justin," Ernest picked up their backpacks and said in a cold tone, then strode out of the classroom.
"Wait for me," Justin hurried after him, holding Nalilian's backpack.
Hermione watched them leave, then looked at Harry who was pretending nothing had happened and continued to catch elves, and put down his wand with a "snap".
She raged, "Are you really going to let Lillian be snatched away by a Hufflepuff, Harry?"
"Hermione," Ron was frightened by her sudden outburst and quickly stood in front of Harry, trying to persuade him helplessly, "Calm down."
They had said they wanted Harry to tell them why he had become so cold towards Nariel, but not now, and certainly not in such a radical way.
"I don't care whether you like Lillian or not, but you don't have to act like you're going to die talking about her, do you?"
Ignoring Ron, Hermione spoke angrily to Harry, who was blocked by Ron.
"If you keep doing this, I'll support that Hufflepuff being with Nariel."
Harry's eyelashes trembled, and he took out the quill that was in his wizard robes and placed it on the table. "Hermione, this is Narilean's pen."
She fell to the ground while running just now.
"You go and return it!" Hermione said angrily, "If Narilean did nothing wrong, you go and return it to her and apologize to her!"
"Haven't you been doing a great job taking care of Lillian?"
"So what are you doing now?"
Gripping Nallylian's pen tightly, Harry looked at Hermione. Meeting her incomprehensible expression, the emotions he had suppressed in his heart for the past few days were difficult to control. "Do you think she really accepts me?"
"Did you know she was my neighbor and had always known I lived in the closet?"
"Do you know that she accepts any advances from me with pity?"
After saying these words in one breath, Harry took a few breaths. His shameful heart felt as if it had been dug out, opened up and hung out to dry, making him feel regretful.
He shouldn't have said that.
He knew that this was his imagination, and that was why he couldn't let go.
"Harry..." Ron called him comfortingly. He understood his feelings because his family was not well off either.
But since he was brought up by Malfoy at the very beginning, he no longer cared much about it.
But this was the first time Harry felt the shame of his family background.
"What?" Hermione said in disbelief, "Just because of this?"
"Hermione," Ron tried to persuade.
"You're Harry Potter!"
Ignoring Ron, Hermione spoke loudly, wanting to scold the boy in front of her to wake him up. If he didn't work harder, Lillian would be taken away from him.
"Why do you care about your current situation? Are you so insecure about your future?!"
"So what if you live in a closet? Why don't you just work hard to buy a villa in the future?"
"Isn't the purpose of Hogwarts to teach us to become powerful in the future?!"
Harry was startled and lowered his head. Just as Ron and Hermione thought he was going to shrink back and looked disappointed, they heard him say, "Then what should I do?"
"Go return the pen to Lillian, Harry," Hermione said, "Apologize to her and ask her out for dinner."
"Don't let her be completely taken away by Hufflepuff."
Don't be like her before, who gave up the opportunity to stand by Nalilian because of fear of Kersten End's indifference.
"If you feel you can't compare to that person, then just use all you have to be good to her."
She certainly couldn't compare to how Kerston cared for Narilla, but what about that Hufflepuff?
"That Hufflepuff, does he know Nallylian? Has he ever been in danger with Nallylian? Does he know what Nallylian likes to eat?"
"Are you really that confident in letting that boy take care of Nalilian?!"
Harry grabbed his pen and ran out. He had never felt so anxious and cheerful as before.
He should have thought of it. He should have realized it the moment he fainted when he faced Voldemort and let go of Nariel's hand.
He wanted to grab Nalilian's hand.
Harry ran all the way to the Gryffindor common room, ignoring those who greeted him and the portraits who asked him why he was running so eagerly. His only goal was to get to the common room.
After giving the Fat Lady the password and entering the lounge, he saw her holding a backpack and counting the items inside.
Nalilian...
Harry took a few breaths, he was out of breath from running. He reached out to wipe the sweat from his forehead and walked forward with the pen.
"Na Lilian," he called out, causing Na Lilian to turn around and look at him in surprise. His heart ached, and he walked over and handed over the pen in his hand, "Your pen."
"Ah, thank you, Harry," Nalilian took the pen from him and said in a surprised tone, "I was looking for this pen. Thank you very much for sending it over."
Listening to her words and seeing her avoiding his sight, Harry smiled bitterly.
She became so polite probably because she didn't know what to say to herself. After all, his previous appearance must have scared her.
"I'm sorry," he began.
This made Nalilian look at him, but he subconsciously avoided her gaze. He was very nervous inside, wanting her to forgive him, but also wanting her not to forgive him.
Ultimately, he thought Nalilian should punish him and then forgive him.
"It's okay, Harry," but Narielian said softly, "It's okay."
Harry looked over at her, meeting her eyes, and saw she was devoid of any emotion.
Not angry.
It was hard to tell whether it was joy or worry, but a surge of urgency in Harry's heart forced him to ask, "Na Lilian, then you are going to come with me later."
He paused, his lips trembling under Narilean's calm gaze, and he changed the subject, "Are Hermione and the others going to the Great Hall together?"
"Sorry, Harry," he replied, not with the usual acknowledgment, but with Narilla's apology. "I've already made an appointment with Ernest and Justin."
"……I see."
