HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 20 Merry Christmas

On Christmas Day, Nellie had a very happy time. During the day, Mr. and Mrs. Ende took them out to Trafalgar Square to play.

The place is decorated with lights and crowded with people. You can also feed pigeons. It is very lively. After returning home in the evening, they start to decorate the Christmas tree and put up socks.

Nalilian naturally didn't believe in Santa Claus and knew that it was the adults who gave them gifts.

Kerston seemed to be the same. He didn't hide his speechlessness at all when he heard the Enders tell them that Santa Claus would give them gifts.

But facing the Enders who looked like they were going to act as Santa Claus and give them gifts, Nalilian still pretended to be expectant like a little girl.

After eating Christmas Eve dinner of turkey and Christmas pudding, Narilean went to bed.

She originally wanted to eavesdrop on how the Enders put their gifts in her place, but she fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed, and when she woke up she saw that her red socks were filled with gifts.

And a bunch of gifts sent by owls that couldn't fit in a pile of socks.

I didn't expect them to be so quick. Nalilian hadn't even sent out her own pile of gifts.

The main reason was that there were too many of them, so she only wrote greeting cards to a few important friends, Cedric, Hermione, Harry and Ron, and didn't even wrap them.

She immediately set about sending the gifts.

Fortunately, Kerston seemed to know that she couldn't send all the gifts, so he came to help. He wrote a greeting card for her and put it in the gifts.

He tried his best to imitate her handwriting, and it was really similar, so he asked the white owl Kane to help deliver the gift.

Owl Kane let out a reluctant cry as he flew away. Nalilian guessed that she might not see him again for a few days.

Nalilian began to open the gifts. She received a lot of gifts, uh, too many.

What Hermione sent was a book, and it was the famous book "Gone with the Wind".

After seeing the English version of "Gone with the Wind", Na Lilian's head was in a knot.

Although this was a novel to Hermione, it was a famous foreign language book to her.

She read this as if it were an English exercise.

In addition to the book, Hermione also gave some candies, greeting cards and bookmarks. Nalilian felt that she wanted to give her everything.

Is it because she was the first girl she had ever exchanged gifts with?

Nallylian gratefully accepted Hermione's rich and clumsy gift and opened the other gifts.

What Cedric sent was a magic glass ball.

Snow falls automatically inside the glass ball. Shake it once and a fir tree will appear. Shake it twice and a little snowman will appear jumping and singing. Shake it three times and there will be traces of elk.

Narilian guessed that he must have done it himself, since the wizarding world probably didn't believe in the story of Santa Claus.

Others gave various candies, chocolates and biscuits, along with greeting cards that said "Merry Christmas".

Most of the snacks have Christmas designs, such as Christmas trees, candy canes, Christmas stars, elk, Santa hats, mistletoe, etc. They look good but the taste is not so good.

Nalilian felt that there was no need to buy dessert at home.

The most valuable item was a set of blue gemstone necklaces and bracelets given by the Enders. They were so valuable that Nalilian kept them carefully.

Her stepbrother, Kerston, gave her a magic animal hairpin, which comes in many animal shapes such as rabbits, bears, cats, etc., and can be switched by shaking.

Nalilian knew that it must have been handmade by Kerston because she had never seen other little witches have such magic hairpins.

This made her wonder if he and Cedric had already agreed to make a magical gift for her.

After opening the presents, Nalilian was dressed up by Mrs. Ende and taken to visit her grandparents.

The elderly couple lived in a house in the suburbs, owned a large pasture, and raised a Border Collie named Dorn.

Nallylian had a blast playing with the dogs on the ranch. She loved Dawn so much.

This little guy is so smart. He can understand what she says and take her to interesting places to play.

The cows afraid of the cold in the cowshed, the hens protecting their chicks in the chicken coop, and the frogs hibernating in the bushes.

Nalilian felt that it treated her as a younger brother, and even when she went home, Dorn walked her part of the way.

Soon it was the day that Kston and Cedric agreed to go to Cedric's house to play.

Cedric's home is in the village of Ottery St. Catchpole in Devon, a place where Muggles and wizards live together, and the Weasley family's Burrow is also here.

Mr. Ender drove them there, a nearly two-hour drive, and they arrived after Nallylian rested her head on Kerston's knees and took a nap for a while.

Cedric was waiting to pick them up at the intersection. When he saw them get off the car, he greeted Mr. Ende and talked to him briefly before taking them away.

"That's Ferret Hill over there, the Weasleys are over there," Cedric said, pointing to the hills to the south.

He knew that Nalilian and Ron were good friends and would probably be curious.

"Our house is on the other side." He pointed to the other side.

Nalilian looked around, feeling very envious.

Although St. Catchpole is a village, it is more like a resort.

There are vast fields with sparsely scattered houses. This scene extends to the seaside, where the buildings become denser and more upscale. Until the beach, the sea and the sky are connected into one blue, with white clouds floating on it, like an oil painting.

No wonder the wizard chose such a place to settle down. Nalilian felt that living here could purify her body and mind.

If you want to live here, this is definitely a good environment.

Nalilian, who thought so, was quickly slapped in the face.

She realized that although the vast space was nice, it was really difficult to walk.

They walked almost ten kilometers before they reached Cedric's house. She was so tired that she had to be dragged along by Kersten.

The community is still good and you can take the bus.

Cedric was obviously a country boy. He was carrying a lot of things, which the Diggorys had asked him to buy in the village, but he still walked very fast, which made Nalilian very envious.

After entering Cedric's house, Kerston presented a greeting gift. Mrs. Diggory received them warmly, while Mr. Diggory went out for something.

This is the first time that Nalilian has come to a wizard's family. She feels very novel. The plants in the garden are all magical plants that can move and jump, and there are also goblins.

This was the first time Nalilian had seen this creature.

They are about an inch tall, with big heads and small bodies, like potatoes with legs. They like to dig the ground and eat the roots of plants, which can cause great damage to gardens. No wonder they are easily driven away.

But they are also stupid. When there is a noise outside, they will run out of the cave one after another to see what's going on.

When Nalilian grabbed them, they would kick their legs and struggle, making high-pitched protest sounds.

Nalilian was having a lot of fun, squatting at the entrance of the goblin cave to play.

Seeing that she liked them, Cedric asked if she wanted to take a few home to raise, but was sternly rejected by Kerston.

He believed that if the flowers and plants that the Enders had carefully tended in the garden were destroyed by the goblins brought back by Narilla, Narilla would be spanked.

After Nalilian finished playing with the gnomes, Cedric took her to see his Christmas tree.

The tree was huge and decorated with magic. It would light up automatically, and there were stars flying around. When Nalilian tried to catch them, she only caught stardust.

"Doesn't Narilean want to be on the Quidditch team? Do you want to go to the backyard and try to play?"

After lunch, Cedric suggested playing Quidditch. He had the magic broom that Mr. Diggory used in the past at home.

At Hogwarts, Narilean had only been able to use a broom in flying class, and since she had never used a magic broom outside, she nodded in agreement enthusiastically.

The main thing is to fly high in the sky on a broom and enjoy the scenery, which is really amazing.

Cedric took out Mr. Diggory's magic broom. It was a very old broom and it was obvious that it was very old.

But it's better than the flying brooms provided in flying lessons that could be consigned to an antique shop.

Nalilian got on the broom, and Kersten repeatedly told her not to fly too high or too far before letting her take off.

The landscape became wider and smaller in her eyes, and the wind blew her hair.

Nalilian looked down at the ground and could see Cedric's house, which was a large piece of land.

There is also a village that we just passed by not far away, and the Weasel Mountain in the distance, both covered with snow.

Nalilian's heart suddenly became open. She looked at the two big boys who kept waving at her below, and her heart softened.

We still have to help them resolve future dangers first.

Such a beautiful place should not be a cemetery.
