On the day of graduation, I was dragged by my rich father to get the certificate
Chapter 233 Discovering clues
The second infiltration took place at midnight three days later. Si Yehan changed into his night shift uniform, and this time he deliberately avoided any blind spots from the fixed surveillance cameras. The rain provided the perfect cover, washing away the rage from his face.
A faint light streamed through Gu Wan's window. Si Yehan tapped on it, following the rhythm they'd agreed on during their phone call last night—three long taps, two short taps, a pause, and then one long tap.
The window opened silently. Gu Wan's face looked particularly haggard under the dim lamp, but her eyes were surprisingly bright. She dragged him into the room and immediately locked the window.
"You're crazy! The house is full of people today. Nangong Xuan invited the Liang family to be her guests—" Her rebuke was silenced by Si Yehan's lips.
The kiss was filled with the scent of blood and jealousy, almost ferocious. Si Yehan pressed her against the wall, one hand gripping her waist, the other tangled in her hair.
"Where did he touch you?" Si Yehan asked in a hissing voice between breaths, his lips nibbling along her neck. "Here? Or here?"
Gu Wan trembled in his arms, but not out of fear: "Only you can touch me... always..."
Si Yehan's rationality completely crumbled upon hearing these words. He ripped open her nightgown, leaving a deep red mark on her collarbone, as if to cover up every place Liang Heng might have touched.
"Dad?" A childish voice came from the bedside.
Just as Gu Wan opened the window for Si Yehan, Nian Nian slipped in.
They both froze. Nian Nian sat on the bed, holding her bunny doll, looking at them with confused eyes.
Gu Wan hurriedly pulled up his clothes. Si Yehan had just turned around and before he could say anything, Nian Nian excitedly ran over and hugged his legs.
“Dad, it’s really you! That’s great!”
Si Yehan immediately picked up Nian Nian and asked, "Do you miss your daddy?"
"Yeah, Nian Nian misses daddy so much." As she said that, she kissed Si Yehan on the cheek.
Si Yehan's chest warmed as he pulled out an exquisite harmonica from his pocket. "This is specially made. If you miss Dad, just play it. You might get an unexpected surprise!"
"Really?!"
"Of course, but Nian Nian must keep it a secret for Daddy and not let anyone know that Daddy has been here, okay?"
"Hmm... Does this mean I can see Dad again?"
“Nian Nian is so smart!”
"Okay, I promise you."
Si Yehan nuzzled Nian Nian's nose and asked, "What about this harmonica..."
“My mother gave it to me a while ago.”
"Nian Nian is worthy of being my daughter."
“Hehehe…” Nian Nian curiously played with the harmonica and suddenly lowered her voice: “Uncle Liang said today that he wanted to be my new father, but I don’t like him.”
Si Yehan's eyes froze instantly. He turned to Gu Wan, whose face was pale. "Mom announced publicly today... that Liang Heng and I should get married next month."
"Absolutely not! Unless I'm dead." Si Yehan spoke word by word, each one as if laced with poison.
At this moment, footsteps and Liang Heng's voice were heard in the corridor: "Master, Wanwan has been in a bad mood recently. I want to go see her again..."
Si Yehan hid in the closet like lightning, and through the gap saw Liang Heng push the door open and enter, holding a cup of steaming milk in his hand.
"Are you still awake?" Liang Heng's eyes swept over Gu Wan's messy collar, and his brows furrowed slightly. "I heated up some milk for you."
Gu Wan took the cup, his fingers trembling slightly: "Thank you, I'm about to go to bed."
Liang Heng suddenly reached out and brushed the end of her hair: "There's a leaf..." His movements froze, and his fingers were twisting something - a short, thick, black hair, which was obviously inconsistent with Gu Wan's hair color, and it couldn't possibly belong to Nian Nian, whose hair was very soft.
Si Yehan held his breath in the closet, his finger on the trigger.
Liang Heng just smiled and flicked his short hair away: "Master is right, you should change your bodyguards, these people are too unprofessional." He leaned over to kiss Gu Wan on the forehead, but Gu Wan dodged.
"Good night, my fiancée." Feeling frustrated, he turned around, picked up Nian Nian and went out.
After the door closed, Si Yehan rushed out of the closet, murderous intent in his eyes. Gu Wan grabbed his hand, "Don't be impulsive! Mom is doing this just to provoke you!"
Si Yehan picked her up and threw her onto the bed, ripping open his uniform. "I want you to remember who your husband is." His movements were almost rough, but at the crucial moment, they became gentle torture. "Tell me, who do you belong to?"
Gu Wan burst into tears under him: "Yours...will always be yours..."
Just as the two were about to reach the summit, alarms suddenly blared throughout the mansion. A sharp warning rang out through Si Yehan's headset: "Attention everyone! Signs of intrusion detected on the west wall!"
Si Yehan cursed and quickly dressed. Gu Wan slumped on the bed, her body flushed pink with arousal, her eyes filled with reluctance and worry.
"Tomorrow night." He buttoned the last button and bit her lips hard. "Get ready, I'm going to take you away."
He couldn't bear it any longer. Even if it meant risking Mu Rui discovering something, he had to take Gu Wan away from here.
The third time, he evaded all patrols and temporarily disabled the surveillance in Gu Wan's room with an electronic jammer. This time, he brought a detailed escape plan.
"The night after tomorrow, Nangong Xuan is going to attend a charity dinner." He unfolded the blueprint and pointed to the red line marked on it. "I will cut off the power. You take Nian Nian out of this exit..."
Gu Wan suddenly covered his mouth, looking toward the door in terror. Si Yehan fell silent immediately, hearing Liang Heng's voice approaching from afar: "...Yes, Master, I definitely saw someone coming this way."
Si Yehan quickly put away the blueprints and ducked into the bathroom. Just as Gu Wan closed the bathroom door, the bedroom door opened.
"Wanwan, are you okay?" Liang Heng's voice was full of concern. "The security system shows that someone broke into your floor."
Gu Wan's voice was surprisingly calm: "I'm fine, it might be a false alarm."
Liang Heng, however, showed no intention of leaving. Si Yehan watched through the crack in the door as he walked to the bedside, picked up the book Gu Wan had been reading before bed, and flipped through it. "A History of Venetian Architecture? I remember you always liked that."
"My master gave it to me, so of course I like it." Gu Wan's response was flawless, but Si Yehan noticed that her fingers were twisted white behind her back.
Liang Heng suddenly turned and looked directly at Gu Wan. "You know, Master told me something today." He stepped forward. "She said Si Yehan might not give up, and might be nearby."
In the bathroom, Si Yehan's muscles tensed, ready to pull the trigger at any moment.
Gu Wan chuckled awkwardly: "Doesn't she always say similar things? I know she does it just to see my reaction."
Liang Heng suddenly grabbed Gu Wan’s wrist. “What if it’s true? What if he comes looking for you?” His voice turned dangerous. “Will you go with him?”
