Chapter 449: Nar’s ability!

However, they are thwarted by numerous heroes who possess powers and weapons capable of killing Gnar's dragons, damaging (not completely destroying) Gnar's avatars, and having the willpower to partially resist Gnar's control, which repeatedly surprises Gnar.

By traveling back in time, Gnar resurrected Mr. E and sent him on a mission to destroy the Ebony Sword in the past, or use it to help him escape Klyntar. Although Mr. E failed repeatedly, he was eventually destroyed. Gnar was stripped of much of his power by the Valkyries, who severed his unknowing connection to the Aceless Celestials in the afterlife.

When Dylan Brock enters the battlefield and begins using his powers to free the people and heroes enslaved by Gnar, Gnar attempts to capture him, but is attacked by Thor - who recognizes him as the man who nearly killed Grendel centuries ago. Furious, Gnar confronts Thor, who dismisses him as just one of the hundreds of Destroyers he has destroyed.

Gnull overpowered Thor, but was attacked by Dylan. Gnull easily overpowered the boy and imprisoned him in the Living Abyss, allowing Thor to knock him out and rip off his jaw with a full force blow from Mjolnir. Enraged, Gnull activated the symbiote-controlled Celestials and ordered them to raze the planet.

Before Thor could leave to confront them, Knull formed a new jaw from the Living Abyss and manifested the Black Death from the symbiote armor, piercing him from behind; sneering, he said that he could sense that Thor was familiar with the Death Sword and that he was its creator.

Leaving behind the impaled Thor, Knull turned to face Dylan and offered to adopt the boy as his son. Unbeknownst to Gnull, Eddie Brock had reunited with Flash Thompson and the Serum symbiote, and Rex Strickland and the Codex symbiote. They were able to use Dylan and Thor's attempt to injure Knull to infiltrate the core of the hive mind, the GodHive.

When Agent Serum's Codex bonded with one of the symbiotes that Gnar could not control and was reborn into the Living World in the form of the White Symbiote Dragon, Gnar immediately realized what was happening and frantically hijacked the T. Rex symbiote to confront Eddie once again, intending to kill him once and for all.

However, Eddie managed to escape the hive mind with the help of the Venom symbiote and was chosen as the new host of the God of Light. Eddie became the God of Light and defeated Knull (4 photos) Facing the Silver Surfer again, Knull prepared to resume their ancient duel but was interrupted by Eddie, who was now transformed into a cosmic version of Venom.

Gnull was unimpressed, mocking his ancient rival's choice of host until Eddie armed himself by merging Thor's hammer and the Silver Surfer's surfboard into a battle axe shaped like Venom's spider emblem. Gnull attempted to escape while throwing everything he had at Eddie, but was subdued and cornered atop the Empire State Building, stripped of his symbiote armor, and thrown to the ground.

Gnar defiantly told Eddie that his death was insignificant and that the Void's victory was inevitable, but Eddie rebuked Gnar and flew him into the core of the sun, destroying his body with the Force. Gnar attempted to take over the body of Dylan Brock, but Eddie used the Force to remove the Living Abyss from Dylan and destroyed it, seemingly defeating the Dark God once and for all.

Divine Physiology: As the original Dark God, Knull possesses super-human attributes and powers, far exceeding those of humans and even most other gods. As the creator of the Necromancer Sword All Black, he appears to possess the same powers it grants to its master, but far more powerful.

According to Brunhilde, much of Gnar's power and apparent invulnerability comes from his metaphysical connection to the corpses of the undead Celestials he used to refine the All Black, providing him with power through the Sword of the Dead, and with which he assimilates the souls of those he kills; as an uncanny afterlife.

This link was severed by Valkyrie, greatly weakening Knull, though he was still powerful enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with Allfather Thor and defeat him with ease.

Living Abyss Manifestation: Knull possesses the ability to create, control, and manipulate monstrous springs of darkness - manifestations of the primordial void that existed before the universe, which he calls the "Living Abyss."

Gnull has spent billions of years experimenting and honing his abilities, creating not only the parasitic symbiote, but similar entities such as the God-E and Exolon. His greatest creations are All-Black, Void Knight - a powerful symbiote prototype used to enslave the Silver Surfer, and Symbiote Dragon.

During his invasion of Earth, Knull was able to engulf the entire planet in a dome of living abyss, blocking out all light.

Symbiote Creation; Knull first discovered his ability to create life from darkness when he manifested All Black from his own shadow in order to kill a Celestial.

Over the millennia, he has experimented and honed this aspect of his abilities, forming a suit of symbiote armor, building an artificial planet, and gathering a swarm of pterosaur-like monsters from the Living Abyss.

While he initially only infected gods and other cosmic beings with the Living Abyss; when he was trapped on a desolate world, he discovered that he could also infect mortals with the Living Abyss, creating an army of parasites that could conquer the universe by corrupting life rather than simply destroying it.

Knull's early experiments in honing his abilities resulted in the creation of an imperfect symbiote later known as Exolon, which he abandoned as a failure. He is also able to create symbiotes from his own blood, although the only symbiote known to have been created in this way is Big Mom.

Symbiote Control; As the divine progenitor of the symbiotes and a bond to their hive mind, Gnull is able to mentally influence and control the symbiotes, even in a locked away state; driving them mad with bloodlust and hunger.

He is also able to remotely control them, allowing him to see through their eyes and directly control them; and even manipulate their biomass without directly touching them, as demonstrated when he used an ancient dragon-like symbiote to attack Earth and manifest an avatar of its true form.

Symbiotes infected by Gnar often have red spirals in place of eyespots, and are more powerful than symbiotes separated from their dark hive minds; sometimes even gaining new powers and abilities as a result of this connection. Gnar is also able to forcibly remove a symbiote from its host through teleblasts or his bare hands. As one of the original Dark Ones, he is also able to dominate other dark entities, such as the Void.
