HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 6 Chapter 1 Herbal Medicine Lesson

Early in the morning, Gloria got up at the urging of the three snakes, put on her clothes and placed them in the pockets on the inside of her outer robe. She sewed four such pockets in total, leaving the last one for Bagilisk.

I had the Herbology class with Gryffindor in the morning, and had breakfast before that. When I arrived at the hall, the table was already filled with hot food.

Gloria found a seat at random. As soon as she sat down, the food in front of her changed. They were all the ones she usually liked.

Draco arrived at the auditorium, followed by a group of people. The first thing he saw when he came in was the light-blonde Gloria. She was too eye-catching. Then he found that there were no books on the table. Did he forget to bring a book?

Gloria was dining quietly when she felt someone sitting next to her. The faint scent of lime and mint made her immediately realize who was sitting next to her.

"Good morning, Malfoy."

The tone was so familiar, as if they had known each other for a long time.

"Good morning—you didn't bring your book?"

His books were carried by two bodyguards.

"Bring it."

Suddenly, there was a commotion overhead. Hundreds of owls flew in and circled around the ceiling of the auditorium, dropping envelopes and packages accurately or delivering them to the recipients.

Soon, the two largest eagle owls flew over Gloria's head, with a wingspan of nearly 1.8 meters. The one with brown feathers slowly landed, startling the surrounding students so much that they leaned back to avoid its wing feathers.

"Amy—"

Gloria stroked its wings.

Soon another eagle owl landed on the table. It was Draco's owl. He didn't expect that there was another person in the school who used the same species of owl as him.

Amy didn't bring anything with her, she came mainly to ask for food. Gloria knew why she came, so she took out a bag of fresh meat and said, "Eat it, you owl who doesn't like canned food."

Amy chirped with joy a few times, lowered her head and ate heartily. Draco's owl came over, hooting, and pecked Draco's sleeve with its beak, as if asking for food.

Draco, who always paid attention to his noble manners, had a faint blush on his pale cheeks due to his own owl's behavior.

Gloria took out another small leather bag and said, "Let it have some too, if you don't mind."

Draco pursed his lips and hesitated for two seconds before nodding. The eagle owl waited for him to nod before eating.

"Thank you."

Master Platinum whispered, and Gloria just smiled faintly.

The owls left one after another. Two eagle owls flew away immediately after eating. Then an old owl flapped its wings with great effort, descended to a certain height, and landed directly on the plate on the Gryffindor table, making everyone laugh.

Seeing that he landed in front of Ron, Draco and his companions laughed.

"Look everyone! Ron got a Howler letter!"

Hearing the roar, everyone looked over, and Gloria felt that the laughter around her became louder.

"Howler letter?"

Draco turned his head to explain to her: "It's a very rude and yelling letter. Remember to cover your ears."

Gloria had no idea what the roar sounded like and was curious about its effect.

However, when Ron opened the letter, a deafening roar was like an explosion. The huge shouting filled the auditorium and shook the dust off the ceiling.

Gloria leaned back in shock, completely shocked by the power of the roaring letter. No wonder Ron looked so bad just now.

Mrs. Weasley was so furious about her son driving a magic car with Harry that Mr. Weasley was investigated by his workplace and was told that he would be taken home if he did it again. In the end, she was pleased that her daughter Ginny was sorted into Gryffindor.

Gloria looked at the little red-haired girl and lowered her head silently.

The roar stopped, but the residual sound was still buzzing in the auditorium. The red envelope completed its mission and automatically burned up, turning into a pile of ashes.

Before Harry and Ron could come to their senses, laughter broke out on the field as if they had been washed away by a violent tidal wave, and then everyone resumed their conversation.

Gloria noticed Draco's left arm, which was held behind her in a protective gesture. "Thank you, I thought it was just a talking envelope."

Draco retracted his arm. "Nothing. This protection is a thank you gift for the owl food you gave me. As for the Howler, only rude people would use it. Have you finished eating? Let's eat together."

Several inquiring glances fell on the two of them, and Pansy wanted to kill her with her eyes.

Apart from being a little childish and bad, Draco's performance is impeccable at other times, except that he is a little too arrogant, but he has the capital to be arrogant.

In the classroom, Gloria saw Professor Sprout, a short witch wearing a patched hat and her clothes were covered in mud.

Today's class was in the third greenhouse. The smell of damp soil and fertilizer mixed with rich floral scents. Gloria tried hard to adapt to the smell here. Huge green leaves and flowers covered the ceiling.

Looking at the various plants in the greenhouse, some of them I have seen in the forest near the manor, while others are very unfamiliar.

There was a long table in the middle of the greenhouse, filled with planting pots. Gloria saw some earmuffs piled up in a corner and picked up two dark ones.

In order to attend the herbal medicine class today, all students changed into linen robes to avoid getting their school uniforms stained by dirt, and wore dragon leather gloves on their hands to prevent the juice from handling plants from corroding their skin.

Professor Sprout finished cleaning up and greeted everyone, as friendly as usual. "We are starting a new course in the new school year. Today our course is to repot the mandrakes. They have grown big enough that the small pots can no longer accommodate them. So, who can tell me the characteristics of mandrakes?"

The girl with fluffy brown hair, pretty face and slightly large front teeth immediately raised her hand. Gloria looked curiously and found that Harry and Ron were standing on both sides of her.

"Mandra, also known as Mandrake root..."

The professor was very satisfied as he recited the properties of the mandrake in full, "Very good, ten points for Gryffindor."

Beside him, Draco snorted disdainfully.

Professor Sprout asked again what was so dangerous about mandrakes, and Hermione raised her hand again, nearly knocking Harry's glasses off.

The correct answer earned Gryffindor another ten points, and the Slytherins all looked unhappy.

Professor Splett pointed to the deep plate on the table and said, "These mandrakes are still very young. Their cries are not enough to kill you, but improper handling can make you unconscious for several hours, so each of you should take a pair of earmuffs."

The earmuffs come in different colors, and everyone is scrambling to find the ones with good colors.

Gloria gave Draco one of the earmuffs she had received before the class officially started.

Professor Sprout focused all the students' attention on her and explained carefully: "If you don't want to be unconscious for several hours, make sure you cover your ears tightly when wearing the earmuffs. Watch me change the basin carefully. I will give you two thumbs up when it's safe."

Gloria put on the earmuffs as the professor instructed, and suddenly she couldn't hear any noise. Draco patted her arm gently and opened his mouth to speak, but she couldn't hear a syllable. She pointed at the earmuffs and explained, shaking her head. But she couldn't hear her own voice, so Draco nodded in satisfaction.

At this time, Professor Sprout rolled up his sleeves, grabbed a clump of grass leaves firmly, and pulled them up with all his strength.

Gloria frowned tightly. The Mandrake root was a very ugly baby. With its big open mouth, it was obvious that the baby was shouting. It was unimaginable how harsh the sound would be to make a person unconscious for several hours.

The professor then placed it in a larger pot and quickly covered it with moist, dark compost. Everyone watched the entire process with a frown on their faces.

After doing this, the professor clapped his hands, gave a thumbs up to everyone, and took off his earmuffs first.

Gloria discovered that a student named Neville from Gryffindor College was unconscious because his earmuffs were not worn properly.

Professor Sprout sighed helplessly: "Looks like I'll have to take Mr. Longbottom to the hospital wing later."

Draco and his gang sneered, causing Harry to glare at him, but when he saw Gloria his expression immediately changed and became complicated. After all, in his eyes, all Slytherins were bad wizards.

But in his mind, Gloria, who kindly invited him and Ron to get on the carriage and shared food with them, was obviously not a bad person.

Seeing Harry staring at her, Gloria waved to greet him. Professor Sprout clapped her hands and asked them to put on their earmuffs again and change the pot of the mandrake. She was going to send Neville to the medical wing.
