HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 23 The Only Golden Snitch

Gloria silently put away the Golden Snitch, "You are still injured."

Draco was about to speak when he mentioned the injury when the hospital wing became lively again. A group of people escorted Harry in and Madam Pomfrey joined the crowd again.

"Oh - you should have come to me directly. Look at this arm. He needs medicine to grow bones again."

After hearing what Madam Pomfrey said, Draco and Gloria looked at each other silently.

"It's all Potter's fault. The Bludger only attacked him, but ended up hitting me." Draco complained with a pout.

The next second, the boy's expression froze, and steady footsteps approached. Gloria turned her head and saw a man with long golden hair, gray-blue eyes, a silver snake-head cane standing beside him, and a neatly embroidered black robe.

Looking at his hair and eye color, you can tell that this is Mr. Lucius Malfoy. Different from Draco's immaturity, Mr. Malfoy is mature and handsome, with a proud and restrained look.

Draco sat up, his tone full of excitement, "Father, I won the game!"

Lucius's gray-blue eyes flashed with a hint of relief, and then fell on Gloria. Draco noticed this and immediately introduced her, "She is my good friend, Gloria Albert."

Lucius nodded calmly and said in a low voice, "I need to talk to Draco. Miss Albert, please step aside."

She got up and left. The curtain of the bed was drawn and there was no sound from inside. It must have been because of a silencing spell.

At some point all of Harry's classmates were driven away, leaving him sleeping there alone, and the other person also saw her.

"Gloria." Harry called her, "I didn't have time to apologize to you for what happened last time. It's true that it's hard for us to comment on what happened back then, but the ideas of that era are not suitable for this era."

Gloria walked over to sit on the edge of his bed, "You're right, do you have any idea who the Heir of Slytherin is?"

"...Not yet." Harry shook his head. "Slytherin students don't know either?"

"We in the academy want to know who the heir is more than you do." Gloria pointed at Harry's injured arm, "You have a broken bone too?"

Harry looked embarrassed and raised his injured arm, only to find that his entire arm was limp as if it had no bones. "Professor Lockhart treated me, but he made the bones disappear."

Gloria was silent for a moment. "Then you should have a good rest. But Draco is here tonight too, you..."

Everything was self-evident. Draco defeated him today, and he didn't know how to mock him in the evening. Harry's awkward smile disappeared, and he was already imagining how to restrain himself from fighting with Draco in the evening.

Behind the bed curtains on the other side, Lucius said in an unquestionable tone, "Draco, I've told your dean that after today you will quit the Quidditch team, and the original seeker will continue to be a regular member."

"Why?!"

It was the first game today, and I had to quit the team right after winning.

"Your mother will soon know about your injury. I promised her that if something happens to you during the competition, you should quit the team immediately."

"But father, I'm not seriously injured." Draco still wanted to argue.

Lucius tapped the ground with his snake-head cane. "Draco, your dean has agreed to let you retire. Take a good rest and remember to write to your mother to let her know you are safe. She is very worried about you. Remember, personal safety is more important than those small honors."

Draco lay back on the bed in disappointment and said sullenly, "I'll write a letter."

Lucius walked over to the bed and stroked his son's soft blond hair, "Draco, you did a great job. We are proud of you."

As a father, Lucius was sometimes serious with Draco, but he was never stingy with his praise for his son.

He put his hand back on the snake-head cane, "Your mother and I need to go overseas to handle some things this year. You will have to stay at school for Christmas, but don't worry, the gifts are ready. We will miss you and send you a letter."

"Okay..." Draco also planned to invite Gloria to his house for Christmas.

They chatted for a while before Lucius drew aside the curtains and saw Gloria standing at the end of Harry's bed.

The tall and handsome man came to Harry's bedside, "Ms. Albert, Draco is waiting for you." He turned to look at Harry, "Hello again, Mr. Potter."

As they spoke, Gloria returned to Draco.

"Lori, my father made the decision for me to quit the Quidditch team." When Draco first saw Gloria, he couldn't help complaining. His father made it very clear, but he still felt sorry that he couldn't play a few more games to dampen Harry's limelight.

"That's a good thing." Gloria agreed with Mr. Malfoy's decision. "Look at your shoulder. I'll come back after dinner when you fall asleep."

The boy was a little sleepy, but he didn't forget to say the last sentence, "Keep the golden snitch I gave you. It's the only one I caught."

Gloria took his good hand in hers, "I will."

It seems like they all gave the best gifts before Christmas.

Gloria waited until Draco fell asleep completely before carefully letting go of his hand. She closed the bed curtain and left, only to find that Harry had also fallen asleep. The medical wing was extremely quiet at this time.

When I met Madam Pomfrey at the door, she was a little surprised, "Oh, you haven't left yet. You just chased away a group of students twenty minutes ago."

"Madam Pomfrey, I will come back after dinner. I have already made an appointment with a friend." Gloria promised: "I will not make any unnecessary noise. I will only come to accompany him."

"The blond boy? Well..." Madam Pomfrey walked in with a plate in her hand. "The boy and girl in love -"

Gloria stood there in a daze, her cheeks slightly hot.

Back in the common room, the Slytherin students were still celebrating, shouting that they had defeated Harry Potter, that Malfoy was the strongest, and so on.

Seeing her come back, a group of people surrounded her.

"We wanted to go see Malfoy but Madam Pomfrey kicked him out. How is he now?"

At that time, most students in the college wanted to visit the medical wing.

"He's fine now. He's asleep. He'll be back tomorrow morning after a night's rest. You can celebrate with him then." Gloria said, "Now, you guys continue. I'm going back to the dormitory to rest."

No one stopped her, and when they saw Zabini and the others, they just nodded.

Daphne said thoughtfully, "Pansy, have you made peace with Albert?"

Since yesterday afternoon, Pansy seemed like a different person. Not only did she not say a bad word about Gloria, she didn't even look at her.

Pansy struggled internally for a few times, then raised her head and said, "She...she is a dark wizard. The last time Bulstrode and I had a sudden fight, it was she who caused it, but I don't know what spell she used."

They still remember what happened in the Potions class; it was indeed very sudden.

"So - you're scared, but it's not surprising that a Slytherin student becomes a dark wizard." Zabini accepted it well. He knew that Gloria looked cheerful, but there must be a reason why she was assigned to this house.

Pansy's "testimony" made them identify with Gloria even more.

Seeing that his actions had the opposite effect, he said, "You all think she is good, but has she ever looked at you straight in the eye?"

After this period of time, it was clear that Gloria had no intention of making friends with them. Apart from Draco, the only people she could talk to were those three annoying Gryffindor guys.

Daphne spoke at the right time, "It's true that it's difficult to get along with each other, but... it's better to maintain the status quo."
