Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 26: Shadows of the Forbidden Forest (Part )

Holding back his grievance, Draco quietly returned to the common room.

After washing up again, I stepped into the dormitory.

I found that Pansy had not returned to her bedroom yet, and was sleeping against Daphne's bedpost.

Daphne pulled the blanket over herself and Pansy, and rested half of her head next to Pansy.

It seemed that the two were worried that he would go out late at night and decided to wait.

But I couldn't bear the fatigue from preparing for the exam during the day, so I fell asleep.

“You guys are such a jerk.”

Draco said softly.

My heart felt warm, and I almost couldn't help feeling aggrieved at being scolded by Professor McGonagall.

There was a slight soreness in his eyes, so he blinked hurriedly, and his hands kept fanning his eyes gently.

After calming down, she walked towards her besties.

As Daphne and Pansy greeted each other half asleep, he helped them onto the bed.

He pulled up the quilt, returned to bed, and buried his tired face deeply in the slightly cool pillow.

The next morning, when Daphne Pansy and I walked sleepily into the castle hall to prepare for breakfast, we were surprised to find that the atmosphere in the school had suddenly changed.

In the hourglass of the House Cup competition, Gryffindor lost 150 points overnight.

The Gryffindor students were outraged.

According to word of mouth, Harry, Hermione, and Neville wandered to the Astronomy Tower in the middle of the night for no reason.

After being caught by Filch, Professor McGonagall ruthlessly punished Gryffindor's two most popular freshmen.

And Neville.

Students from other colleges naturally gloated over this misfortune.

In the following days, many old Slytherin students began to compose lyrics to "Potter, We Praise You" to cheer for the family.

The brief sarcasm soon became a tune sung on campus.

Draco noticed that Harry kept his head down as they passed through the classroom and the corridor.

Occasionally, there seemed to be a hint of apology in the eyes that glanced at me.

But what is even more surprising is Hermione's transformation.

She was more active in class and seemed determined to earn back the lost points.

Having said that, she no longer raised her hands like crazy and almost jumped up and down to attract attention like she did in the past.

I just raised my hand quietly, waiting like a stone pillar for the professors to call on me and respond.

Interestingly, the Hufflepuff students quickly stopped making noises.

In fact, from what Daphne told me, there seemed to be a faint rumor going around on campus.

Some people are investigating why Hermione, a model student, and Neville, who is always timid, would follow Harry on an adventure in the middle of the night.

Also, why was the Slytherin princess punished to do labor service with the other three for no reason?

"Is that Diggory?"

In the dormitory, Draco narrowed his eyes, hugged his pillow and asked lightly.

Daphne pouted, looked at Draco and Pansy, and nodded slightly.

"Hannah said Diggory thought things were a little weird."

"Isn't this person too boring? What does this have to do with him?"

Pansy responded disapprovingly, as she plopped down onto Daphne's bed, causing Daphne to yelp in protest.

"Pansy! You haven't showered yet!"

"Let me lie down for a while, I'm so tired that I can't even lie down and sleep properly."

"But...but..."

"I've already washed my hands of your lies. I'm not that bad."

Seeing Daphne's cheeks turn red with anxiety, Pansy stopped playing.

Looking up at Draco who was trying to hold back his laughter, Pansy suddenly became serious.

"Aren't you worried? I don't know what the labor service will be like..."

Hearing Pansy's serious question, Draco and Daphne came back to their senses.

"At most, it's just tidying up the trophy room, right?"

"I don't believe the school would actually allow students to do anything too dangerous."

Draco smiled brightly and spoke confidently.

"And Pansy, are you going back to your room to sleep?"

Then, he reminded Pansy of the cruel truth, causing her to puff up her cheeks and complain.

"It's not fair! I must change my dorm next year!"

"Don't be angry, we can exchange."

"Or, you can come and join me sometimes."

With Daphne's comforting voice, he finally accompanied Pansy, who was always lively and outgoing, back to her room.

After turning off the lights and saying goodnight to Daphne, Draco lay quietly on the side of the bed, his eyes constantly staring at the magic stone window in the cellar.

The stone window is starry and a warm breeze is blowing in.

I comforted myself silently in my heart that as long as I worked hard and served, everything would be fine.

-

However, this thought was shattered when he saw Filch in the castle hall at 11 o'clock that night during the labor service class.

"Well, I know you. Don't think that just because you're Severus's favorite, I'll—"

Seeing Draco frowning and looking a little worried, Filch gave a malicious smile.

The rude remarks only aroused the pride of the daughter of a wealthy family.

The trepidation I felt as I walked into the castle hall slowly dissipated as I felt the anger of being offended.

Before Filch could finish his words, Draco coldly interrupted the subject.

"I advise you to keep your regrets to yourself."

"You don't want to mess with the Malfoys. Caretaker."

The cold look made Filch's mouth twitch a few times, and he turned away angrily.

The silent wait is always long, and Harry, Hermione and Neville finally arrived.

"Come with me. I bet you'll think twice before breaking school rules next time."

When everyone was present, Filch let out a heavy breath and spoke angrily.

At the same time, he glanced at the three Gryffindors as if to intimidate them, but he looked away before his eyes met Draco.

"Oh, yes, if you ask me, hard labor and corporal punishment are the best teachers."

"it's a pity..."

"Too bad you're not a teacher, and no one will ask you. Administrator."

"My lady, I am not in the mood to listen to your nonsense right now."

Listening to Filch talking to himself, Draco interrupted impatiently.

Neville seemed to be intimidated by his own defiance, but Hermione and Harry showed expressions of surprise and admiration.

Filch glared at him fiercely, but Draco stared back nonchalantly.

The four of them followed Filch into the night and slowly arrived at Hagrid's cabin.

The fear in Draco's heart rose rapidly as he moved away from the yellow light of the castle.

But no matter what, he was unwilling to show weakness in front of the rude and abrupt administrator.

I can only muster up my courage, listen to my pounding heartbeat, and try my best to keep a calm face.

"Is that you, Filch? Come on, you've been taking too long, I want to get started right away."

Then, it was Hagrid's voice that rang out in the darkness.

Draco could no longer hold back his eyes in panic, but Harry beside him looked relieved.

Filch seemed to have caught a glimpse of his own appearance and Harry's expression, and spoke with great pride.

"You're scared now, aren't you, Miss?"

"As for you, brat, do you think your work will be easy with this idiot?"

"You guys, have to go into that forest, hehehe."

"I think, unless I'm wrong, you won't be able to get away with it."

After hearing the word "forest", Draco was stunned as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

Filch's threats were no longer acceptable to him.

With a grim and pale face, he turned to Harry and Hermione.

From their confused looks, it was clear that the two men had no idea what this meant.

Neville, however, let out a faint groan.

"Did he say, forest?"

Draco endured the gradually cooling of his limbs, unable to believe that he would actually seek answers from Hagrid.

Seeing Hagrid nod coldly, I remembered that he obviously still remembered that he had secretly witnessed the birth of the baby dragon.

What’s even more frightening is that he may still be holding a grudge, thinking that he was the one who informed on the matter.

Thinking of this, the fear became even greater.

"But we can't go in there at night..."

"That's forbidden!"

Harry seemed puzzled by his own fear and turned his head to look at himself.

Draco bit his lip and explained to Harry almost as if asking for help.

"There's... everything in there... I heard there are werewolves..."

Even Hermione looked pale with fear after hearing this, and Neville grabbed Harry's robes tightly.

"You asked for it, didn't you?"

Filch spoke sinisterly, but Draco was surprised to notice that Hagrid interrupted him hastily with a hint of dissatisfaction.

It seemed that Filch was not allowed to continue to intimidate students.

"You have no business here, Filch. From now on, I'm in charge."

As he spoke, he strode forward and stood between the four people and Filch, with his Great Dane Fang following closely behind.

"Hmph. Whatever you like. I'll be back here at daybreak."

"Collect their bodies."

Filch's tone was full of malice, but his sight was blocked by Hagrid Quivu's body, and he could no longer look at Draco and his group.

"It's almost time, let's set off quickly."

After Filch left, Hagrid looked up at the moonlight and frowned.

Draco also narrowed his eyes, suddenly remembering the legend of the full moon and werewolves.

"..this lady....."

I was just about to say that I would never set foot in the forest on a full moon night.

He noticed that Hagrid was looking down at him, as if waiting for him to finish his unfinished sentence.

He also noticed that Harry was staring at him intently.

Only then did I remember that although Hermione looked miserable, she never said a word.

Her strong character and the face of a wealthy family's daughter eventually overcame her fear.

He could only bite his lower lip stubbornly and searched for the folding fan at his waist to distract himself, but found nothing.

Now he was even more panicked and could only blink helplessly, secretly anxious.

"Don't you want to go into that forest?"

I was glad that Harry finally spoke, but I was annoyed that I didn't know whether he was trying to help or to force the issue.

"That won't do. You did something wrong, so you have to accept the punishment."

Hagrid took over quickly, looking from Harry to himself.

Draco felt his breathing quicken, but he slowly calmed down and spoke tremblingly.

"What I mean is..."

"I want to know what we are going to do in the forest."

He kept reminding himself in his heart not to lose face for the Malfoy family, and looked back at Hagrid.

But because of the shadow in his eyes, he fell into panic again.

"You will find out in a moment. This is very dangerous. Follow me closely."

Hagrid said this and walked along the edge of the forest, as if looking for a suitable entrance.

The four of them looked at each other, not knowing whether to leave, when they heard Hagrid's call again.

"Come on! Come on, Harry, Hermione."

Then Harry and Hermione looked at each other.

Before Draco could react, he had already taken a step towards Hagrid.

Surprisingly, he discovered that when they passed each other, Harry deliberately moved to his left side, blocking himself from the forest border.

I don't know whether it was intentional or not, but he stopped and looked at me with a determined look.

As if to say, "Are you afraid to come, Malfoy?"

Then, he turned his head and started walking again.

Draco stubbornly raised his eyes, pouting his lips, gently pinching the sleeves of his robe, and striding forward to catch up.

The evening breeze blew across her hair, lifting her long, delicate and smooth platinum hair.

As he followed Harry's side, his heartbeat quickened without him noticing.

I seemed to vaguely recall the night when I encountered the three-headed dog.

When she looked back, she found that Neville had followed suit and asked Hermione to walk on the side away from the forest.
