Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 23: Don’t you really want to cooperate with me?

A few days later, when Draco finished washing up and returned to his dormitory,

Only then did I realize that there was a small card left on the pillow somehow.

Unlike the Christmas gifts and greeting cards piled up at the foot of the bed, there was only one line of text on the simple white inside of the small card.

Tonight at midnight, in an abandoned classroom on the fifth floor of the castle.

The handwriting was elegant, yet unfamiliar.

Draco frowned, thought for a moment, returned to the desk and opened the diary again.

It was not until midnight that she got up again, put on a dark green night cloak, and slipped out of the door of the lounge.

Coming to the abandoned classroom on the fifth floor of the castle, enduring the dust in the cold air,

But his eyes were bewitched by a ray of moonlight coming in through the stone window.

The moonlight was like water, reflecting on an ancient and magnificent stone mirror that almost reached the ceiling.

There were strange words engraved on the edge of the mirror, but Draco was only confused for a few seconds, then raised the corner of his mouth proudly.

You are in my heart, but you are not what I want.

"What I show you is not just your face, but the desires of your heart."

He recited the inscription softly and stepped forward quietly.

But suddenly, a soft cry was heard right in front of me.

"Malfoy?"

“Who…is it!?”

She failed to stop and bumped into the invisible figure, and she covered her mouth in fear to muffle her screams.

Draco took a few steps back in panic until the figure in front of him took off a dark silver cloak, revealing his true figure.

"Po...Potter?"

"'Why are you here?'"

The two surprised people spoke in unison, then looked at each other and fell silent.

“This mirror allows me to see my family.”

After a long pause, it was Harry who spoke first.

"But they—" Looking at Harry's trance-like look and talking foolishly, Draco responded with some fear.

"Yes, but I saw it, and only I could see it. Ron couldn't see it."

As Harry spoke, he looked at himself, tears glistening in the corners of his eyes and his expression was stubborn.

"Can I...can I see it?"

Draco frowned and bit his lower lip lightly.

Somehow, in such an atmosphere, the usual hostility seemed absent.

After Harry nodded, he stepped lightly to the mirror.

However, because of the scene before him, he couldn't help himself for a long time.

It's Mom, Dad, and Severus.

The three people seemed to be talking about something, then they all smiled and turned around.

Deep in the mirror, I saw a younger version of myself.

They are my most beloved family, peaceful and quiet.

"Did you see that? My parents?"

When he found Harry standing behind him, he didn't mind, but just talked blankly.

"No. But..."

“I see my family, too.”

“I still only see my parents.”

"What a pity, I can't see..."

"They should be pretty good looking too, right?"

Harry responded with a sincere tone, turning his head and looking at him softly.

Draco also turned his face to the side, his fair cheeks slightly flushed, and a gentle smile appeared on his face.

"Mom is beautiful, Dad is handsome, and Severus is very gentle."

After a few seconds, he was suddenly stunned.

Both of them looked away hastily, but then turned back to look at each other.

He noticed Harry's look of astonishment.

"'What did you say?'"

Once again, they said in unison.

Once again, it was Harry who asked first.

"You said Snape is your family?"

He seemed to have been separated from the atmosphere of the magic mirror, and his tone was somewhat unfriendly.

“He’s like family to me.”

Draco responded, and suddenly he understood where Harry's hostility came from.

"You have the wrong enemy."

When he spoke again, his tone was surprisingly cold.

"What do you mean?"

Harry responded hastily, with a hint of provocation.

"You have the wrong enemy. Severus is not the bad guy, Quirrell is."

As Draco explained, Harry's eyes widened and he looked obviously unhappy.

"You did eavesdrop on our conversation with Hagrid."

Draco's face turned red again when his misconduct was exposed, but he was unwilling to show weakness.

“So I know you’ve made a mistake.”

"You are also investigating the secrets in the corridor on the third floor, right?"

He asked back coldly, and looking at Harry's panicked look, he realized that his guess was correct.

"I know who Nicolas Flamel is, and I can guess what is hidden inside."

"If you need me, I can help you, but you must not accuse Severus again."

Draco said this, noting with satisfaction that Harry was somewhat hesitant.

But when he opened his mouth, the light in his eyes faded in disappointment.

"I'm sure Hermione and Ron can find clues too."

Harry's reply was decisive, and Draco's anger flared up again.

"Are you so resistant to cooperating with me?"

The tone was cold and clear, and Harry's next words made him tremble even more.

"I don't hate you, Malfoy."

"But I hate the way you always look down on others."

"Why are you doing this? You were fine just now."

I wasn't sure if I was shaking with anger or if the air was making me feel cold all over.

"It is not your turn to judge me, Potter."

She glared at Harry fiercely, raised her soft platinum hair, and turned away angrily.

He left Harry behind and returned to the dormitory alone, but he couldn't fall asleep while hugging his pillow.

I thought I was insomniac because of anger, but when I fell asleep at dawn,

Harry heard the sincere words as he immersed himself in the atmosphere of the mirror -

"They should be pretty good looking too, right?"

What does he mean?

-

Not long after Draco's angry figure left, Harry stood there blankly for a moment, then left in regret and disappointment.

The abandoned classroom suddenly returned to silence.

Then, two figures slowly appeared on the edge of the wall behind the mirror.

"Very, very interesting, Severus."

"Perhaps, she is more like Narcissa."

"But are you sure you want to do this?"

The tall, elderly wizard spoke, his long white hair and beard flowing.

Behind the half-moon spectacles, a sharp light flashed.

"If you are willing to accept it, Dumbledore."

“This could be an unexpected boost.”

Next to the old man, a wizard dressed in black responded in a calm tone.

But they both understood that he was just suppressing his emotions.

While speaking cautiously, he anxiously waited for the old man's reply.

"It's too early to say whether I can help her, but I am willing to give her the opportunity to choose."

Everyone should have a choice, regardless of their background.”

"But what about your good friend? Isn't he afraid that he will think that you betrayed him?"

Dumbledore responded, his tone solemn. Snape was visibly relieved.

The classroom was filled with silence.

Snape said nothing and slowly walked towards the Mirror of Erosis.

In the mirror image, two figures vaguely appeared beside him.

A beautiful woman with red hair had a smile on her face and her green eyes were filled with happiness.

The woman gently hugged his waist and leaned on his shoulder.

He looked warmly at the girl with delicate and childish face playing in front of them in the mirror.

The girl has long platinum hair, an innocent face full of innocence, and bright eyes.

Although her pupils were a pale grey, she was wearing an emerald green dress that matched the colour of the woman's eyes.

Feeling the gazes of himself and the woman, he looked back in confusion, still hugging the doll he had woven with his own magic. The three of them formed a shadow, as if they were the love of his life, but the family he would never have in this life.

Then Snape turned and faced Dumbledore.

He closed his eyes and spoke in a heavy and resolute voice.

"He will understand."

"For Draco."

He opened his eyes and let Dumbledore's wise eyes see through him.

I noticed a flash of surprise in Dumbledore's eyes.

The old man smiled.

"I am surprised, but pleased, Severus."

"Never, leak." At the same time, tears rolled down.
