HP: Hogwarts Snake

Chapter 401 Loneliness

"Can you come over and talk to me?"

Tang Yu held her hand tightly without loosening his grip, but asked questions, as if a rejection would really make him let go of Della.

Della had a good impression of Tang Yu. It was mainly because his usual shyness, which could be described as timid, was so deeply rooted in people's minds that she didn't take this drunkard too seriously. She asked patiently, "What do you want to talk to me about?"

"You're so beautiful and amazing," Tang Yu blushed, his eyes flickering and shining as he looked at Della. His thoughts, clouded by alcohol, were completely illogical, and he spoke whatever came to his mind. "Why did I get the chance to meet you? You know, I have a book full of your clippings."

These words have reached the level of stickiness, and can even be said to be slowly developing in a fanatical direction. However, Della is no longer the little girl who felt insecure without her wand during the summer vacation of her first grade. She has a certain degree of confidence in her own strength and is not in a hurry to pull back her hand that is being held. She still looks at Tang Yu quietly, waiting for his next words.

"Let's find a place to talk," Tang Yun said again, leading Della to the pavilion by the water, and continued, "This is the first time, the first time I've seen someone like you. It's really, really heart-wrenching. So-"

Before they reached the pavilion, Tang Yu pulled Della to sit casually on a large rock in the flower bushes. His words of praise suddenly changed to, "Lonely."

He blurted out these two words, and Della turned her head sharply to look at him, her eyes slightly widened.

"Let's talk about this," Tang Yu said again, finally voicing the question that overwhelmed and encompassed all his emotions. "Why are you so lonely, Della?"

Della blinked slowly, her brows furrowed, not knowing how to respond. Her first reaction was to end this unnecessary conversation that had started with the drunkard.

"You were so thin, so pitiful, and so helpless in the newspaper, but your eyes were so dark." Tang Yun's hand was still holding Della, still staring at her and smiling, "It's as if everyone looks down on you, and it's as if no one can catch your eye."

He said two arrogant words in succession, but both of them knew the difference between them. The former was arrogant and condescending, while the latter was lonely and hard to find a soulmate.

"You're drunk, Ling," Della finally spoke, using some strength to pull back her hand, "Let me help you go back."

Caught off guard, Della pulled her hand back, but Tang Yu continued talking, "You think you've always been alone in the world, right, Della?"

The scar was reopened, but Della calmed down.

"Why do you ask?" She lowered her eyes and said softly, "Do you feel pity for me and want to get close to me and protect me?"

Della's voice regained its composure, and she also regained the cold cruelty that had subsided for a long time.

If this question really reveals a man's one-sided pity and fantasy for the weak, then she will definitely expose it.

Della's heart turned cold. Under her scrutiny, Tang Yun smiled foolishly again. He plucked a half-opened, withered peony from the side and held it for a while. The peony trembled and bloomed. Then he held it in front of Della like a treasure and said, "Here you go!"

Della looked at the blooming peony with a frown on her face. She didn't take it and just looked at Tang Yu quietly.

"It's pretty lame, isn't it? A five or six-year-old can do this easily," Tang Yu said without getting annoyed. He just lowered his hand slightly, and Mudan trembled along with his movements. "But this is my limit. What a shame, I actually have this talent."

"Why is it a pity? Isn't it better to have something than nothing?" Della asked him in a low voice as she listened to his increasingly illogical words.

"Because of this tiny bit of talent, I've blocked the door to another world." Tang Yu casually tossed the peony aside, his head drooping, as if drained of energy. "In that other world, I feel I have the ability to see through everything, but people can't always be at the peak of clarity. I will always decline, and eventually fall into the abyss of an unsolvable problem, and then sink deeper and deeper."

Unsolvable Problems...

Della lowered her eyes, "Is there no one who can help you solve the problem?"

Tang Yu gave her a smile that was different from all his previous ones. That smile contained both arrogance and regret. He said firmly, "No, I feel that in this regard, I am also alone in this world."

Della raised her eyes and looked at Tang Yu's clear face seriously for the first time.

"So, it's scary, right?" Tang Yu leaned toward Della, closing the distance between their eyes. His voice trembled, "No matter what, you know you're destined to be alone. The decisions you make can only affect the degree of loneliness, but no matter what you do, the lower limit of that loneliness is terrifying."

There was a gleam of water in the black eyes in front of me, and the water reflected the moisture in another pair of black eyes.

The scar was not only revealed, but also roughly pulled open, revealing the weak heart that had been in panic for more than ten years.

Yes, it’s so scary, being alone and not being understood by anyone, and having to endure loneliness forever.

Why is it her?

She stood on the same land as everyone else, but her eyes and heart were dug out. Her eyes were thrown into the deep sea, and her heart was thrown to the wild beasts. She was left walking on the road. The ears left by empathy heard the ordinary beauty, but the lonely and pessimistic eyes saw the inevitable decay.

And the heart that was toyed with by the beast, in constant fear, learned to be as cruel as the beast, making beauty more brilliant and decay more corrupt.

"So, we can only sink deeper and deeper into loneliness," Tang Yu used the word 'we' to reveal the true reason for his love for Della at first sight. He saw in Della another hopeless self. "Originally, I still had a small way out. Facing a world that can be seen but cannot be exhausted, praying to the gods is a way of escaping. But I happened to have a small gift that ultimately allowed me to see two endless worlds."

"Seeing it alone." Tang Yu added dejectedly, and like the tide receding silently, he leaned forward and slowly moved away from Della.

"How cruel! Talent and weakness combined in the same person. Nothing is more destructive to the mind than this." The fear that had been suppressed for years and never expressed to others began to speak, and he could no longer stop. He spoke of his injustice and her resentment. "Is it really true that the only way to escape this loneliness is to escape or die?"

Escape, something you are already doing.

Death is no longer something to be feared.

This was true for both people on the stone, and neither of them saw the third way.

Tears fell on her hands, and Della cried in front of others again, but this time, she was unable to hide her tears.

Before the intermittent tears stopped flowing, Tang Yun fell on her lap, crying, his face flushed, and he was drunk due to his emotions and the alcohol.

Sorrow falls into sorrow, creating ripples in the boundless loneliness.
