HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 402 Bait
Cynthia was secretly taken back to England by Annika.
The moment she set foot on British soil, she felt regretful because she knew she was stuck in a passive position of no return.
However, there were so many opportunities to regret, but she chose to regret when there was almost no room for maneuver, which is actually a kind of regretlessness.
Some things have to be done soberly.
Cynthia, who has always been selfish and stepped on others to run towards freedom in order to survive, learned an important lesson as a human being - impulsiveness - from the regret of not taking further action.
Impulsiveness will bring interruption and cost.
Cynthia waited anxiously for her impulsive verdict.
At the end of June, all the waiting came to fruition. Annika, a young girl with no emotion in her black eyes, told her seriously that she was going to take a risky action.
"Black is indeed in danger," Annika's eyes were dark, but her tone was surprisingly infectious. She was thinner than a year ago, and had more of her father's authority. "But from what I understand, he's just bait to lure Harry to the Ministry of Magic. We still have a chance to fish in troubled waters."
"..." Cynthia lowered her eyes. She sat on the sofa opposite Annika and stroked her dazzling silver hair. "How are you trying to fish in troubled waters?"
"The bait is insignificant. The angler's focus is entirely on the fish surrounding the bait," Annika curled her lips. "Fish follow the bait. If we can lure the bait to a convenient spot, while everyone is hauling in the big fish, we'll have a chance to remove the bait from the hook that's already caught."
"You want me to lure Sirius away and then take him away?" Cynthia tilted her head.
"Yes, that's right," Annika nodded. "On the ninth floor of the Ministry of Magic, there's a prophecy room filled with shelves. If you keep walking north inside, you'll reach a back door. That's your chance to escape."
Cynthia didn't ask about the details of the plan, only asking, "When does the plan start?"
"It's half past seven now," Annika said, pulling out her pocket watch to check the time. A hint of half-hearted apology entered her voice. "I've only just learned of this plan, but the operation over there has already begun. Harry Potter is at school, so it'll take him some time to take the bait. I personally estimate that he should be able to rush to the Ministry of Magic between half past eight and nine o'clock."
"And given how much the Dark Lord values Harry Potter, Black should have been deployed at least two hours earlier," Annika looked up at Cynthia. "Even though he should have been forced into the Ministry by now, and is even being toyed with and tortured, in order to allow anglers to focus more on the big fish, I still suggest we set off at least an hour later."
"You look calm, Annika," Cynthia said, looking at her quietly. "Are you used to manipulating chess pieces and watching the battle from afar?"
"That's not entirely true, Cynthia," Annika smiled. "I'm just a pawn. I just have more people to work with. After all, no one wants to get their hands dirty."
No one wants to get into too much trouble.
Cynthia has already figured out the hidden meanings in words, and her thinking is more sharp than that of ordinary people.
She could tell that Annika knew Voldemort's plan for tonight earlier and in more detail, and she only told her now because she was afraid that she would disrupt this carefully calculated timeline.
This is actually understandable. Annika helped her probably for Della's sake, not for Della's sake, but just a gamble that Della still has the possibility of returning.
The deliberate concealment of information is to eliminate the possibility of offending Voldemort.
A very good double-edged sword.
Cynthia had no great objection to this smooth pursuit of fame and fortune. She believed that it was understandable for people to have various desires, but it was absolutely unacceptable for anyone to play too many tricks on her.
Cynthia pointed her milky white basilisk bone wand at Annika.
"What's in the Hall of Prophecy?" Cynthia asked. "Who has to go there? Sirius? Me? Or Harry?"
Annika instinctively tilted her neck back when the wand was pointed at her, but she didn't look away. She followed the tip of the wand and looked at Cynthia. "Pointing the wand at me? It really breaks my heart, Cynthia. I've done so much for you."
"I'm very grateful to you for that," Cynthia said, unmoved. "But I also think that the intention to lead me to death offsets that."
Annika's eyes moved up and down, but she didn't respond to Cynthia's question. "Have you been to the Ministry of Magic? Or have you studied it in depth?"
"Selfish people can't imagine what selfless people would do," Cynthia said. "If there really was an escape door, Sirius wouldn't abandon Harry. In other words, whether there was an escape door or not, Sirius wouldn't leave Harry alone in danger. That's the flaw in your argument."
"What a surprise," Annika raised an eyebrow, "Are you actually a selfless person, Cynthia?"
"No, I'm selfish, but I know those two idiots very well." Cynthia's wand moved closer to Annika. "Okay, stop stalling and tell me. I won't make it difficult for you, Annika."
"...It's Harry. He must go get the prophecy," Annika said in a hoarse voice. "The only uncontrollable part of the whole plan is that Harry won't go to that hall because he learned the relevant information in advance from the Order of the Phoenix. Sirius still has magical abilities and is not a person who can be controlled 100%. You are the final trigger of my plan."
"Did you report me?" Cynthia asked.
"No," Annika said, "after all, I don't want to take too many risks."
"What's the correct way to leave?" Cynthia asked.
"It seems you really don't understand the Ministry of Magic, or perhaps you don't particularly understand the wizarding world either." Even though a very harmful wand was pointed at her, Annika still had the courage to smile. "The Dark Lord hasn't started to control the Ministry of Magic yet. The fireplace can be used, but as long as you leave the Ministry of Magic, basically—"
"Collapse!"
Cynthia, having received the necessary information, waved her wand, and Annika fell limply onto the sofa.
After taking a last look at Annika, Cynthia hurried out of the room and headed for the Ministry of Magic, hoping to take away Sirius as bait before all the tricks were unfolded.
Shortly after Cynthia left, Annika, who had been lying on the sofa, sat up. She looked clear-headed and didn't look like she had just woken up from a powerful sleeping spell.
She took out the precious item that her father had given her from her pocket that could offset a magical attack, kissed it gently, then took out the silver letter and sent a message to Maggie.
She has already set out, convinced that this journey is to save Blake.
After sending it, Annika threw the silver letter aside and rubbed her neck which was slightly twisted when she fell down.
Betting on both sides?
It's like eating one chip twice.
For the first time, he showed his temper towards Della and slightly offended Maggie.
But the person who tied the bell must untie it, so the second time, of course, I have to start from the root and please Maggie.
It is undeniable that Cynthia is a smart person, but she is far from good enough in terms of conspiracy and intrigue.
Now, with one lure, I can use it once here and once there, and both fish can be attracted.
How chaotic will it be?
I'm really looking forward to it.
