Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 316 Self-assertion

"They seem to be talking about me. Do you think I should go over and listen?" Arthur asked Hosea.

"It's your freedom." Hosea knew that stopping Arthur would only backfire, so he gave Arthur the right to choose. But he still kindly reminded Arthur: "This matter is probably related to you, but why didn't Dutch come to you directly, but went to Jamie instead?"

Arthur thought about it for a moment, then sighed and said, "I understand."

The two looked at each other and smiled, but the smile was somewhat bitter.

"Does Dutch really not trust Arthur anymore?" Sadie glanced at Arthur who was sitting not far away and asked Lin Yan in a low voice.

"Maybe..." Lin Yan's answer was ambiguous.

"Why?" Sadie asked puzzledly, "Is it because Arthur opposed him twice in front of everyone? Dutch wouldn't be so petty, right?"

Lin Yan opened his mouth, wanting to tell Sadie about Dutch's attempt to win him over, but after thinking it over he gave up. Now was not the time to talk about this.

"Should we tell Arthur about this?" Seeing that Lin Yanguang opened his mouth but did not say anything, Sadie knew that he had some concerns, so she changed the question.

Lin Yan scratched his head in confusion, "I have been thinking about this too. If I tell him, what if I ruin Dutch's plan and he comes after me? But if I don't tell him, when Arthur finds out, how will he look at me?"

"Will it be okay if you tell me?" Sadie said with a smile in her eyes.

Lin Yan didn't understand what Sadie really meant at first. "This matter has nothing to do with you, so it's no big deal to tell you." It wasn't until Sadie turned around and called out "Arthur" and waved at him to come over that Lin Yan realized that Sadie was going to "sell" him.

"Hey, you, what are you doing! I told you you could, but you can't...you can't be a human being...Oh!" Lin Yan was so anxious that he was a little incoherent.

Sadie laughed out loud when she saw Lin Yan's embarrassing look. "You know me well. How could I hide something like this? You told me so that you could pass it on to Arthur indirectly through me?"

"Ah?" Lin Yan was stunned. He had never thought about it this way. Could it be that his subconscious mind was at work?

Arthur had already come over after being summoned by Sadie. There was no point in explaining at this point, so Lin Yan simply closed his eyes and left everything to fate.

Arthur was also confused when he came over. What else could Sadie call him over for? It must be the thing they had just talked about that was related to him. He had clearly been planning to avoid it, so why was she so eager to tell him?

Arthur looked conflicted: Should I listen or not?

Sadie didn't care what the two men thought. As soon as Arthur came over, she started talking nonstop, repeating to Arthur everything that Lin Yan had just said to her.

It was not until Sadie finished telling the whole story that Lin Yan secretly opened his eyes a little to observe Arthur's reaction after hearing it.

Unlike the indignation that Lin Yan had expected, Arthur was very calm after hearing the news, even a little too calm.

In Sadie's opinion, Lin Yan told her this in order to relay the matter to Arthur through her, so that Arthur would come forward to stop Dutch's crazy behavior. After all, Arthur had just had a fight with Dutch about this matter two days ago.

Sadie didn't expect Arthur to persuade Dutch. Her real idea was to drag Arthur into this mission. It might be easy to kill a wealthy business elite by ambush in a town, but it would be extremely difficult to get away with it. When she learned that only Lin Yan, Micah and Dutch were involved in this mission, Sadie immediately thought of a possibility - sacrificing a pawn to save a chariot.

Sadie never had a good impression of Micah from the beginning to the end. In her eyes, Micah was a complete villain who had done all kinds of bad things. In order to survive, she had no doubt that Micah would betray his teammates. As for Dutch, her admiration for him had completely disappeared with his recent dementia decisions. Regardless of whether he was influenced by Micah or not, Sadie no longer trusted him.

Two people she didn't trust were going to drag her good friend and savior to carry out such a dangerous mission. If it were Sadie's personality, she would have quarreled with Dutch long ago. The reason why she didn't do so was entirely out of consideration for Lin Yan's face. Finding Arthur was another countermeasure she thought of, that is, to drag Arthur into this mission as well.

In fact, Sadie had thought about going with them, but considering that Micah was involved in this mission and she and Micah didn't get along very well, after comprehensive consideration, she felt that it would be better for Arthur to go.

"Mrs. Adler, what is your purpose in telling me this?" Arthur asked with a smile.

Arthur's attitude was somewhat unexpected to Sadie. "Didn't you firmly oppose Dutch's attack on Cornwall a few days ago? Why don't you react at all to the news now?"

Arthur said helplessly, "What else? Do you think I can stop Dutch from doing what he has decided? Don't you think too highly of me?"

"So you're just going to sit there and watch? No comments?" Sadie continued to ask.

Arthur was completely speechless at this time. He said with a smile: "Then what do you think I should do? Should I argue with Dutch or just fight to the death? Madam, I am just a senior thug in the gang. The final decision-making power of all matters lies in Dutch's hands. Even if I have many dissatisfactions with him and the mission, if he insists on letting me do it, I will go without hesitation."

"Then this mission..."

"Of course this mission is also included." Arthur answered without hesitation. "Dadqi didn't let me go this time."

"So, you'll go if Dutch tells you to?"

"Correct."

"Okay, then I'll go talk to Dutch." After saying this, Sadie got up and went straight to Dutch's tent.

After Sadie left, Arthur and Lin Yan stared at each other and put on victim expressions.

Arthur spoke first: "What's wrong with her? Why do I feel like she's a little abnormal today?"

Lin Yan looked hopeless. "How should I know... She doesn't usually have so many things to do... Let's not talk about this for now, let's think about what to do next..."

Neither of them spoke.

In less than two minutes, Sadie walked out of Dutch's tent. Standing in front of the two men again, Sadie looked at Arthur with a smile, which made Arthur startled and a bad premonition quietly rose in his heart.
