Chapter 30 The Friendship Between Vampires and Muggles

As the surrounding scenery began to change again, another night fell.

Bloody sneaked into Bardington Manor for the second time.

Before coming here, he seemed to have gone through a very intense internal struggle and made up his mind to erase all memories of himself from Patty's mind tonight.

His steps were firm as he entered the staircase, but the higher he went, the more inappropriate hesitation and entanglement appeared on Xue Ni's face.

Until he pushed open the door and walked into the room, which had no locks on the door.

Moonlight streamed through the large French windows, its soft glow like a silver veil covering the entire room.

The girl in the wheelchair sat quietly by the window, bathed in silvery sunlight, making her look so peaceful and serene.

Seeing Patty, who was clearly waiting for him, Bloody's hand holding the wand trembled slightly involuntarily.

"Don't you sleep at night?" he asked with difficulty.

"A useless person like me can sleep at any time of day."

Patty said calmly, tilting her head to look at Bloodny.

"Are you still determined to alter my memories?"

Even a straight man like Harry could tell that Bloodny was too weak to do it. At this moment, his hands were shaking so badly that he couldn't even use the most basic Levitation Charm!
But the young vampire stubbornly insisted.

“According to the wizarding statute of secrecy, Muggles cannot know these things. If I don’t do this, the Aurors will find out sooner or later, and they will send someone to erase your memory!”

"Then why can't you just kill me?" Patty still begged Bloodny for death.

Bloody became visibly agitated, frustrated by Patty's disregard for his own life.

"Why do you make death sound so simple! If you really want to die, why don't you do it yourself!"

But as soon as he uttered the second half of the sentence, Xue Ni realized he had said the wrong thing, and his face turned even paler.

Patty, however, did not feel offended; she continued to look at Bloody quietly.

"They didn't give me the chance to commit suicide. I couldn't even open that window on my own."

Blood Nymph remained silent.

He understood that Patty was right.

There wasn't a single sharp object in the bedroom, and given Patty's inability to even take care of basic needs, she had even lost the right to commit suicide.

"Have you left this room?" Xueni suddenly asked.

Patty looked at Bloody and said softly.

"They allow me to go out, but someone has to follow me at all times. Nobody wants to be treated like a dog, having to go out on a leash every day, right?"

Suddenly, Bloody walked up to Patty and grabbed one of Patty's hands.

This action made the girl hold her breath. Her eyes, which had been as empty and indifferent as if she were dead, revealed a rare look of panic and helplessness.

Xue Ni didn't care what she thought. Instead, he held her hand and helped her pull open the French windows, which were deliberately designed to be difficult to open!
The night breeze blew into the bedroom, making their hair stand up.

At this moment, Xueni released his grip.

“The window is right there,” he said, taking a deep breath. “You can do whatever you want anytime without anyone’s help.”

Patty stared blankly at Bloodni, but she quickly came to her senses.

Without any hesitation or doubt, she used the only arm she could still control to begin the arduous crawl toward the window frame!

Even though she could easily reach the open window while sitting, it was still a long battle.

Using the curtains to hold the wheels of her wheelchair in place, she relied entirely on her arms to move her body toward the window frame, like a slow, sluggish snail.

Finally, after a full twenty minutes, she draped her upper body over the open window as if she were draping a handkerchief over it!

Patty could already see the ground ten meters below. If she fell vertically, she would have a chance to fall headfirst onto the stone path that extended from the lawn.

This is a suicide option with a very high mortality rate.

She didn't let her body fall immediately, but instead made one last effort to turn back and look at Blood Nymph.

"Can I know your name?"

Xue Ni stared blankly at her, at the girl who was determined to die.

“Blood Nymph,” he murmured.

“My name is Patty, Patty Somerset. We’re friends now, aren’t we?” Patty, who would never hesitate to die, was now trying her best to keep her voice from sounding nervous.

"Yes," Xueni was also trying hard not to make her voice sound dry and hoarse.

The very next second after he finished speaking, Patty braced himself against the window frame with both arms and pushed his body off!
The wind lifted her dress and her chestnut hair, making her look so light that a gust of wind could lift her up!
Almost instantly, Blood Nymph rushed to the window and jumped down without hesitation!
As he jumped, his hand, gripping the wand tightly, showed no sign of trembling. It pointed precisely at the falling girl in mid-air as he uttered the spell!

"Zombie Drifting!"

Harry's heart leaped into his throat at the sight. He instinctively wanted to run to the window to see if the two were alright, but before he could take a step, Severus grabbed his shoulder.

The scenery around them changed, and when it reappeared, they were on the lawn outside the house.

Patty did not fall onto the stone pavement as she had hoped. Her body was controlled by an invisible force and suspended in mid-air about one meter above the ground!
Patty's mind was still blank until Bloody landed lightly on the lawn.

She had made all the preparations to accept her impending death, but now she is still alive.

After a long while, she finally came to her senses and turned her gaze to Blood Nyx, who had a relaxed smile on her face. "You're not as honest as you seem."

Despite her cold and aloof remarks, Xue Ni remained unfazed and proudly declared.

“I’m a thief, and my credit with the fairies is zero. They’re never willing to lend me money.”

Patty was anything but ladylike; she lay sprawled in mid-air with her arms outstretched, not saying a word or looking at Bloody, clearly angry.

Ignoring whether she answered or not, Bloody used his wand to guide her and began to tour Bardemington Manor under the cover of night.

"You're not as incompetent as you think, are you? You escaped that cage on your own and returned to the world of freedom, so why not take a closer look?"

"It might not be so bad here. You probably haven't really explored your own home much. Tonight is a good opportunity."

"Hey Patty, you said we're friends, can't you give your friend some face?"

Finally, Patty seemed to be persuaded by him.

She began to try to use her strength in mid-air to sit up, and Bloody quickly waved his wand to help her.

But as a vampire, he had never attended Hogwarts and his magic was all self-taught. After fiddling with Patty for a long time, turning her around 360 degrees, he finally managed to help her sit up while floating with her back against something.

“You’re a terrible wizard,” Patty mocked.

Bloodny's eyes darted away. He didn't respond directly to the question, but instead used his wand to guide Patty forward.

They strolled through the garden, soon crossing the vast lawn and arriving at the horse farm located next to the estate.

With Xueni's help, Patty rode on horseback for the first time after her body became paralyzed. A smile appeared on her face, and Xueni couldn't help but smile along with her.

At that moment, they were like two true confidants.

Soon, they penetrated deep into the horse farm, where Xueni astutely discovered Severus and his gang's secret base in a warehouse.

Bloodny had never played Muggle video games, let alone Patty.

Two gaming novices, who didn't even know how to use a controller at first, laughed at each other and joked around, staying there until dawn.

They tacitly agreed that Xueni would not mention the memory erasure again, and Patty would not continue to try to kill herself. Before dawn, Xueni sent her back to her room.

Many nights passed after that, and every day Bloody would come to see Patty.

They explored almost every part of Budmington Estate.

Patty noticed that Henney was interested in the motorcycle in the garage and volunteered to teach him how to ride it. During the process, she made so much noise that she even alerted the servants and almost got discovered.

Sensing Patty's curiosity about the wizarding world, and thinking that his memory would clear up later anyway, he told Patty various stories from The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

They tried to make the flower buds in the garden bloom, hoping to help a mare who was having a difficult labor in the middle of the night give birth to her foal.

Xueni used a healing spell to repair Patty's tulip brooch, which was left by her mother. Patty then showed Xueni the location of the kitchen so that they could enjoy a big meal at night.

They truly began to understand and accept each other, becoming each other's closest and most intimate friends.

This was a wonderful time, so wonderful that the two of them temporarily forgot their troubles.

However, forgetting doesn't mean the problem will disappear.

Soon, Bloodny's friend, Elder Wavell, a rising star in the British wizarding world, noticed something was wrong and quickly learned what had happened.
