Chapter 90: Freshly Baked Spider-Man

The ominous sign swept through the X-Men in about a minute or two. He was extremely dissatisfied with how things had unfolded that day. The Ajax identity offered him immense advantages, allowing him to accept Weapon X and Stryker's legacy.

More importantly, it can conceal the numerous experiments that the ominous entity itself is conducting and attempting. It's important to understand that there are many human experiments on mutants, and Weapon X could receive various forms of support from the US military to conduct such experiments. After all, nominally, it's still an internal US military project.

But now that it has been exposed, the US military will consider whether the results of Weapon X have been stolen by the Ominous, and many things will become very troublesome.

But in the minute or two that Omen dealt with the X-Men, Peter had already taken off his upper body suit and lay down on the gene-editing device, a metal container about the size of a person, which looked strangely familiar to Peter.

"Yes, the prototype is the surgical pod where Captain America underwent surgery."

As the beast spoke, it drew a vial of blood from Peter, then from Cindy. Both of them gained their powers after being bitten by the same spider, so their genomes must have undergone similar mutations.

Cindy's abilities are now stable, so using her genome as a reference, a sufficiently stable genetic model can be created, which can then be modified using a gene trimmer.

Surprisingly, this instrument had been started up multiple times recently and had undergone similar genetic programming. Therefore, the beast was able to quickly find a solution, or rather, directly apply existing models to create a suitable genetic model.

As the operating room began to close and power was extracted, several syringes were injected into Peter's body, and radioactive rays began to irradiate the operating room.

"This is the Vita Ray. The captain was exposed to it during surgery. Theoretically, this ray can accelerate cell reorganization during unstable periods." Beast chuckled as he explained, "I don't know why, but it seems that subsequent Super Soldier serums, whether successful or not, don't use this ray. Only this device is still around... Oh..."

The beast, upon discovering from the computer's database that the most recent login was Mr. Ominous, let out a silent cry of alarm, realizing that something was terribly wrong.

"what happened?"

"It's nothing," Beast reassured Qianhuan, feigning nonchalance. "An old rival, Scott can handle him. But we need to be careful about a power outage here. It would be troublesome if someone cut off the power to the gene editing machine."

"I can generate electricity!" Qian Huan raised her hand, then realized that her statement was not quite correct: "Um, I can release sparks of different colors, like fireworks, sometimes there are sparks, is that okay?"

"You demonstrate your abilities, no problem. If there's a power outage, you can use your abilities on this transformer."

Just then, after he gave the order, the entire room went dark. Li Qianhuan promptly reconnected the electricity, causing the room to glow with multicolored light.

All three looked towards the doorway, where a very strange sound was coming from. After listening for a while, they realized that the elevator, which was stopped at the doorway, had been forcibly dragged up. Judging from the sound alone, they knew that the speed was far beyond the normal upward speed of an elevator.

Then came a deathly silence; all sound vanished, and the three of them stood there, waiting for something.

"I'll deal with him, Qianhuan, you keep the cutting machine running!"

The Beast removed his glasses, baring his teeth as he stared at the laboratory door, assuming a fighting stance, ready to engage in combat at any moment. As the laboratory door was roughly ripped open, Mr. Ominous floated in leisurely. The moment the Beast saw him, he pounced, but Mr. Ominous merely waved his hand slightly. The Beast's blue fur began to recede, and he transformed into an ordinary human. Losing his superhuman abilities, he collapsed to the ground, knocked unconscious by Mr. Ominous's pheromones.

"I am very dissatisfied with how you treated my equipment; it was too rough."

As he spoke, Ominous Sign looked at Qian Huan, who was charging the gene editing device, and smiled kindly, extending his hand to her.

"Can you give me back my things, ma'am? Don't worry, you're not in danger."

Qianhuan was at a loss as the ominous sign drew closer. Fortunately, Cindy stood in front of her, or more accurately, in front of Peter.

The ominous sign realized that the leech's abilities were no longer working, and that the girl in front of him was not a mutant.

But it didn't matter. He first waved his hand, using telekinesis to deflect the incoming spider web, then, without giving his opponent a chance to attack, he placed his right hand near his temple and began to use his self-edited telepathic abilities to deal with his opponent.

The other person seemed to have undergone some anti-brainwashing training, but unfortunately, they were still very young. While Cindy was focused on dealing with her telepathic abilities, Ominous used telekinesis to rip down the ceiling of the room, pinning the other person underneath.

It's definitely not solved yet, but that doesn't matter. What the ominous sign needs now is to shut down this gene editing machine.

He walked up to Li Qianhuan, put his hands behind his back, and smiled as he watched the spark in her hand disappear. And so, it was all over.

The Vita rays did not stop irradiating; white streams of light continued to gush out from the metal chamber, and a steady stream of electrical energy continued to power the instrument.

In the darkness, Mr. Ominous looked at Li Qianhuan.

The latter seemed to realize something and couldn't help but laugh.

"not me."

Under the influence of Mr. Ominous's "Leech" ability, Li Qianhuan did not release any energy. At this moment, the gene editing device no longer needed an external power source and could operate normally.

So where does this current come from? There's only one answer: the person inside it can continuously provide bio-currents to keep the instrument running.

As bright as day, white lightning continuously erupted from inside the gene-editing device, sparks flying everywhere in the room. To Mr. Ominous's astonishment, the operating chamber of the gene-editing device slowly opened, and then, there was nothing inside.

Then, without being able to see anything, Ominous Sign felt a heavy blow to his chest, and he was sent flying, his chest almost collapsing.

He struggled to lift his head, but still couldn't see the person who had emerged from the gene editing machine. He only saw lightning, pure white lightning that kept leaping and slowly outlining the silhouette of a blurry person. Then, that silhouette leaped up and threw a heavy punch at him.
