I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 31: Fully Upgraded Spider-Man
Chapter 31: Fully Upgraded Spider-Man
The Kun fighter's engines roared over the Pacific Ocean, the rear hatch slowly opening, a howling wind pouring into the cabin. Iron Man's gold and red armor plummeted like a meteor, landing steadily. His visor flicked open, revealing Tony Stark's face, perpetually adorned with a playful smile.
"Did anyone miss me?"
Looking at everyone's messy hair and innocent eyes caused by the airflow caused by the sudden opening of the door, Tony knew the answer. He just kept smiling and told Jarvis to close the door.
"The kid started working after you left, Tony." Janet didn't even look up, her fingers swiping quickly on the tablet, monitoring the real-time status of the Avengers Building. "I've never seen anyone so addicted to the 'superhero business'."
Tony glanced at his teammates. Ant-Man Hank was still studying the data from the smuggled vibranium samples. Bruce Banner was wearing noise-canceling headphones, probably listening to some kind of yoga music that would calm him. Even Captain America, in the driver's seat, was rarely distracted, his blue eyes gazing out the window at the empty sky, as if some answer lay hidden there.
As for Thor, oh, he should still be in Asgard.
"That's great, isn't it?" Tony shrugged, plopped down next to Steve, and glanced at the flight data pretentiously. "I arranged it this way just because I didn't want the building to be idle - what do you think, Captain?"
"That kid can defend New York without any problem. I'm thinking of another thing." Steve looked away, paused, and then continued, "Maybe we can invite King T'Challa to join the Avengers. I knew his grandfather, and we fought side by side on the battlefield. I know that every generation of Black Panther is a top fighter."
The captain then said something that seemed to contradict himself: "But we cannot interfere in Wakanda's internal affairs. We are not the US government... The biggest trouble in this operation may not be the enemy, but politics."
Tony raised the corner of his mouth, revealing that "I can do anything" smile: "Politics? I've dealt with more politicians than I've studied warframes. Trust me, Captain, it's just the king of an African country. I can handle it."
A few hours later, the Avengers' Kun fighter was hit by a vibranium weapon and was forced to land in the deep jungle of Wakanda with black smoke. It seemed that they would not be able to return for a month or so.
Peter, of course, didn't know the Avengers would be offline in New York for several days. As soon as Tony left, he immediately got to work. He dumped his schoolbag on the table, stuffed his old uniform inside, and went into the lab to work on the new suit. He even dug out his old camera and casually handed it to Jarvis, asking him to develop the photos inside.
"Okay, let's get started!" Peter rubbed his hands together, his eyes fixed on the rotating model of the old uniform in the holographic projection. His mind raced, trying to get everything he needed to do out loud: "Jarvis, help me keep an eye on what's going on in New York. Notify me immediately if anything happens. Also, pull up the surveillance footage from the Osborne Tech Expo on March 12th—can you do that?"
[Mr. Stark has archived the relevant data.]
"Alright." Peter was not surprised at all, and swiped his fingers across the virtual screen. "And list all the things Herman stole. I want to see exactly what he took."
A detailed list of thefts appeared on the table. Peter studied the design of the old uniforms and asked, "What materials are the captain's uniforms made of?"
Stark Industries' latest development of a highly stretchable composite fiber material, its main structure is...
"Then use the same model, but increase the spacing of the red webs by 1.2 times..." He said as he pulled off the eye mask from the projection and tossed it away. He then replaced the original slender black model with a redesigned pair of rounder white eyepieces. Although it was his first time operating this system, he mastered it with astonishing speed.
"That seems a little friendlier, don't you think, Jarvis?"
If you want to convey positive emotions, it is recommended to use brighter colors.
"good idea."
A few minutes later, a refreshed Spider-Man emerged from a bathroom on the upper floors of the building. The new suit featured a brighter red and blue color scheme, and the 3D-printed composite fabric perfectly formed the body. Web-like bat wings were added under his arms for gliding, and the white goggles could adjust in size based on his facial expressions, expressing his emotions.
The spider logo on the chest has shrunk, and the pattern on the back has changed from a big, ferocious spider to a Q-version circular design. If you look closely, you will find that it is actually an ingenious storage device. The suit can automatically fold into a palm-sized spider disc, which is easy to carry.
Hidden pockets on either side of the waist replace the previously obtrusive belt. A spider-shaped light tucked into the center of the waistband is designed for use in dark environments like sewers. Of course, the coolest feature is the tactical display built into the eyepiece, which can connect to the Avengers' satellites, providing real-time communication and analysis capabilities.
In short, it looks like a classic suit, but with some added tech. Furthermore, to avoid any unexpected situations, Peter built two sets. "Okay, I'm uploading the keyword search program I wrote. I can't believe I've memorized the entire code," Peter said, tapping on the projected virtual keyboard. "Jarvis, can we access the Avengers and NYPD's collaborative network? I think you have the permissions, right?"
[Hacking into the New York police and fire systems has been completed.]
"Hacking?!" Peter was stunned. He hadn't expected the Avengers to go through the proper channels. But he couldn't care less now. Getting the system was paramount. He was sure the NYPD wouldn't mind...right?
"Oh, uh, integrate my program into it, match it with all the police and fire department dispatch information, and conduct a comprehensive analysis of the situation."
The eyepiece immediately projects real-time police information - where the crime occurred, whether the police or fire department can arrive in time, whether the criminals are armed and need Spider-Man to intervene, everything is clear at a glance. This system allows him to avoid trivial matters that the police can handle themselves and focus on matters that require Spider-Man more.
Next, he retrieved the Osborn Tech Expo surveillance footage that Stark had somehow obtained, and used it to create a holographic model using footage from different angles. This investigative method had appeared in Iron Man 3, and now Peter was using it to reconstruct the moment he was bitten. He filled a glass of water at the water dispenser and stood aside, observing the reconstruction.
The holographic projection recreated the scene: He and Gwen were chatting and laughing as they walked between the booths. Suddenly, the glass case containing the mutant spider shattered without warning, and the crowd instantly fell into chaos. The image zoomed in, and Carl King bent down to pick up the spider. He approached silently and pressed the deadly creature to the back of Peter's neck.
"What caused the display case to break?"
[There is no relevant record in the Osborne database.]
"No record?"
Peter continued watching, instinctively swatting away the mutant spider that had bitten him. In the corner of the surveillance camera, a blurry figure suddenly crouched down—but the footage seemed to have been manipulated, and Peter couldn't make out the person's face.
"Can you pull up that person's information, the one squatting there?"
[Data has been encrypted. Warning: This segment has been tampered with externally.]
Someone modified the information? S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra? Hmm, maybe the same group. Realizing there was no point, Peter put the matter aside for the time being and turned to the list of high-tech products Hermann had stolen: exoskeleton spinal nerve connectors, extreme environment survival equipment, light particle projectors...
He took out the holographic projection of the light particle projector from the list.
"A fish tank?"
[The light particle projection device, developed by Horizon Labs, is used to manipulate the reflection of light particles to generate virtual images.]
"All that was stolen were semi-finished products. Someone must be responsible for perfecting them. Jarvis, can you look up researchers in the field of light particles?"
There was no one he was looking for.
"Or a special effects artist who has done relevant research?"
Jarvis seemed to pause for half a second, clearly unprepared for this unexpected thought, but he quickly retrieved the matching files:
Quentin Beck, Hollywood's most creative special effects artist, has been missing for a month.
Got you.
Mysterious man.
