I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 30 New Equipment
Chapter 30 New Equipment
It was another beautiful new day. Peter Parker finished a day's study and celebrated his victory at the detective agency - the detective agency also successfully helped Spider-Man capture the Terror, which made Peter feel much better after being scolded by Aunt May all night last night.
Then, Spider-Man once again arrived at the Avengers Tower. The last ray of sunlight reflected off the glass curtain wall of the building, casting a brilliant golden-red light, just like his mood at the moment.
Although the two battles with Thriller had basically destroyed both of his uniforms, he had no choice but to find the parts that were as intact as possible and put them on.
"Stop, soldier. If you go any further, you'll be within the security zone."
Iron Man pretended to imitate Captain America's serious voice, then his visor flipped open, revealing Tony Stark's signature face with a teasing smile. He smiled and patted Peter on the shoulder: "You know what? Captain always thought you were no good, that you were just a child, that you would act impulsively. But it turns out you're doing pretty well, aren't you? The idea of overloading and detonating the stun weapon is really great."
Peter laughed as well, noticing Tony Stark in his suit.
"Mr. Stark. Do the Avengers have a mission?"
"Oh, yes, we have to go to Africa to catch a smuggler named Ulysses Klaue. He has a large amount of vibranium weapons." After saying this, Tony realized that Peter might not know who Ulysses Klaue was, so he added: "Cap's shield uses vibranium. He is supporting the civil war in Wakanda so that he can steal local assets. We have to bring him back. The Kun fighter has already set off."
Peter did know Ulysses Klaue, the guy whose hand was cut off by Ultron in the movie Avengers 2. This guy is also a super villain in the comics, called "Noise", and he also appeared in the Black Panther movie. His weapon is a vibranium-driven noise generator connected to his broken arm. It is rated as not as scary as it seems.
The Avengers probably didn't go there simply to arrest a smuggler, it was probably related to Vibranium and Wakanda, but that was not something he could get involved in.
"Anyway, we have to go on a business trip and won't be home. And it just so happens that I thought there might be someone who can help me take care of this place." Tony said as he led Peter into the Avengers Building and picked up a card that had been prepared long ago from the bar: "Avengers protect the world, and friendly neighbors can protect New York. Your Avengers ID card, kid."
"Does this mean..."
"Don't think too much, kid. You're just a reserve at best." Tony laughed. "You still have a few more years to work hard. Okay, take care of New York while we're gone. With this ID card, you can use all the equipment in the Avengers Building. Oh, by the way, to prevent you from abusing it, you have to swipe the card every time you come in, and let us know what you've done."
"I understand, Mr. Stark." Peter took the ID card, looked it over and over, and then made his first request: "Can I use the technology here to make a uniform? My current battle suit, uh, has no protection at all, and it's tattered."
"I told you, kid, you can use all the equipment."
Tony put on his visor and said, "If you don't understand, ask Jarvis. I have to go chase the captain--"
"Um, there's one more thing, Mr. Stark."
Tony, who had already activated the thrusters and was about to take off, stopped and looked at Peter: "What?"
"I met someone who said she was a prophet who could see my future, knew my identity, and possessed similar Spider-powers to mine." To avoid impacting the Avengers' mission, Peter summarized his situation in the simplest way: "She said that on the same day as me, someone else gained Spider-powers. This person is crucial because I'll be traveling through the multiverse in the future, and I'll need this person as a beacon for my return."
"Wow." Iron Man was stunned for three full seconds to digest all this. "This is really... unusual. Regardless of whether it's true or not, if there is a possibility of another Spider-Man, the Avengers will carefully investigate."
Peter actually roughly knows who that person is. Speaking of the person who got his abilities from the same spider as Peter Parker, it should be "Silk" Cindy Moon.
But the problem was, no matter what Cindy Moon was doing, she was definitely not a student at Midtown High School. If there was such a person, Peter would have noticed her long ago. At the same time, he also had to consider the possibility that it wasn't her, so after much thought, he decided to leave this matter to the Avengers.
As for Tony Stark's idea, it was very simple - half a year had passed, and there was no news about another spider-user?
Needless to say, just find Nick Fury.
After watching Iron Man leave, Peter put away his Avengers ID card and asked the whole house, "Where should I go if I want to make a suit?"
"The 3D printer is in the lab on the fifth floor, Mr. Parker." Peter muttered as he nodded.
"Isn't five stories a bit too short for a building where only the top few floors are used to house the Avengers?"
"Actually, the Avengers only count the top five floors as living quarters, Mr. Parker."
Peter laughed. He had to test out the new equipment to upgrade his suit.
"This is your new equipment, Mr. Snerdyakov."
Dmitri Snerdyakov, codenamed Chameleon, is a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service agent who stole Soviet camouflage equipment and defected to the United States. After spending all his CIA pay, he chose to use this camouflage technology to work for various underground forces. Now, he has accepted Kingpin's invitation to come to an abandoned warehouse to test the small toys Kingpin prepared for him.
Dimitri squinted his eyes, holding the small ball in his hand, which was probably only three centimeters in size, and looked at Kingpin beside him: "Is this thing really as magical as you say, Mr. Wesker?"
"Let my staff tell you, this is Quentin Beck, formerly the best special effects artist in Hollywood."
Quentin Beck was a thin, timid man who couldn't help but nod his head repeatedly, as if agreeing with something. Quentin walked up to Dimitri and, after thinking for a while about how to explain the function of the object in his hand, he decided not to explain it and chose to explain its usage directly.
"Press the middle button and drop it on the ground. That's how you use it."
Dimitri did as he was told, and a miracle occurred. A lifelike scene appeared before them. The warehouse, which had originally only housed a handful of people, was now filled with countless workers. No matter which angle they looked, no obvious shadows could be seen.
"This is light particle distortion technology. It's still imperfect. It can only be programmed and adapted to the environment. It can't be operated anywhere..."
Dimitri didn't want to hear this meaningless scientific nonsense.
"What is the range of the projection?"
"A sphere with a radius of one hundred meters, but it can only broadcast pre-arranged images, and it must be deployed within the appropriate range."
It was enough, enough to deal with Spider-Man. Within a radius of one hundred meters, he could dress up as Spider-Man and commit all sorts of crimes, ruining Spider-Man's reputation. Sometimes defeating a superhero didn't require actually defeating or killing him; making everyone think he was a criminal and a villain was another way to do it.
This is not a difficult task for Chameleon, as he is already well versed in it.
"All I have to do is arrange the right scene, and I'll start. I'll first ruin Spider-Man's reputation and lure him into a trap. The rest is your business."
After Dimitri finished speaking, he asked with a little interest: "But I still want to ask, have you chosen a location?"
"I'm already looking for a suitable gravesite for Spider-Man."
Kingpin lit a cigar and said, "I have hired the best detective in New York, Mr. McDonald Gargan. He will choose the most suitable place for Spider-Man to end up."
