Chapter 103 The Scorpion's Wrath

Chapter 103 The Scorpion's Wrath

Scorpion never expected Spider-Man to be able to generate electricity, and such a powerful current at that; the white lightning almost blotted out the sun. In the three seconds before he crashed heavily to the ground, he saw a flashback: McDonald Gagan's thirty-four years of life flashed before his eyes like a low-quality videotape.

McDonald Gagan was an ordinary man with a remarkably mundane ability: he could often find connections within vast amounts of information. This was how he became a private investigator, but after a few cases, Gagan realized something crucial and realistic—this kind of work simply wasn't profitable. Then it suddenly dawned on him: from a certain day onward, the doorknobs of his private investigation agency were painted gold, his clients' briefcases contained specially made listening devices, and there were always bank accounts with people willing to transfer money—he had learned to put a price on his clients' secrets and sell them to those who needed them more.

McDonald Gagan finally made a fortune, and then his talent caught Kingpin's eye, making him Kingpin's private investigator.

This also became the key to his revenge.

"Uh...ah."

Scorpion braced himself against the heavy armor on his body. Unlike Iron Man, his armor wasn't powered by a reactor, nor was it generated by the recoil of his own vibrations, unlike the Thunderbolt armor. Aside from some internal mechanisms, the armor was actually supported by Gagan's mutated body, designed to provide sufficient protection in the fight against Spider-Man.

He shook his head, brushed the cement chunks off his body, and stood up almost at the same time as Spider-Man. He looked at the furious Spider-Man and couldn't help but laugh.

"You're faster and more anxious than I expected. Have the Avengers arrived yet?"

Spider-Man didn't speak, he just stared at him, his hands still crackling with tiny sparks of electricity. Scorpion narrowed his eyes. Wasn't Spider-Man supposed to be very talkative? Why isn't he saying a word now?

Yes, he was furious.

He's angry? I'm not angry yet!

"You all brought this on yourselves!"

The scorpion raised its tail high, its segmented structure extending its massive tail to a length of ten meters, and lashed out at Spider-Man with incredible speed. Spider-Man silently twisted his upper body slightly, letting the scorpion's tail whiz past him.

Great. Next, based on Spider-Man's previous combat data, he will grab his own tail and throw himself out.

But Spider-Man didn't do that. Instead, he disappeared. Scorpion paused for a moment, then activated the thermal imaging through his eyepiece. At the same time, gun barrels opened on his mechanical tail, firing in all directions.

The bullet missed its target, but thermal imaging showed that Spider-Man was already right in front of him. He appeared out of nowhere and punched Scorpion in the face, cracking his goggles. But Scorpion laughed, and, swayed by the punch, immediately slapped Spider-Man across the face.

The immense force sent the 1.7-meter-tall high school student flying, before he landed steadily a short distance away.

Do you think your anger will achieve anything?

The scorpion's tail mechanism began to transform, turning into an automatic cannon that fired continuously at Spider-Man. He laughed maniacally and roared, "You can't do anything! You have the power of a spider, but I have the power of a scorpion! A scorpion that preys on spiders."

Spider-Man remained silent, firing his webs at Scorpion. Scorpion caught the webs and pulled them forcefully towards him, even ignoring the lightning Spider-Man continuously unleashed thanks to his armor.

Despite the various errors displayed on the armor's data, Spider-Man was powerless to retaliate, so paying a price was nothing.

Spider-Man seemed to be trying to wrestle with Scorpion, but he couldn't gain the upper hand. Meanwhile, Scorpion's tail turrets aimed at Spider-Man and began firing rapidly. Spider-Man still gripped his webs, but jumped high to dodge, followed by a continuous barrage of electric currents hitting Scorpion. Scorpion was tired of playing.

The tail began to deform again, and the pattern of spraying high-concentration, strong acid reappeared. The strong acid corroded the spider silk.

Then, he leaped forward, charging directly towards Spider-Man. He landed beside Spider-Man, filled with both rage and exhilaration. He easily caught Spider-Man's punch and then delivered a punch straight to Spider-Man's face.

"Your fists are so weak?"

Scorpion, his hand gripping Spider-Man's fist, rained blows on Spider-Man's face: "You have no idea! To avenge myself on you freaks, I turned myself into one of you! Do you even understand?! Scorpion! Preys on! Spiders!"

Spider-Man remained silent and did not utter a word.

Finally, he spoke.

"Perhaps, Gagen."

He grabbed Scorpion's fist as it swung at him again, and then gripped it tightly. Scorpion was stunned for a moment, trying to break free, but he couldn't.

That shouldn't be the case; Spider-Man couldn't possibly be stronger than me.

The scorpion's tail behind him transformed into sharp spikes, swiftly lunging towards Spider-Man. However, with both of Spider-Man's hands under his control, he managed to kick the scorpion in the waist, sending him flying to the side.

The reason I didn't answer you is... because I didn't know how to answer you.

As soon as Scorpion got up, he was hit hard. His primal instincts were blaring, but he couldn't stop Spider-Man from pulling out an entire telephone pole and swinging it at him.

"Because I simply can't find any reason to forgive you!"

"Forgive me?!" The scorpion laughed, his tail transforming into a sharp blade that severed the telephone pole that swung at him again. "You broke my spine! I've become a cripple, forced to carry this thing and become a monster just to walk! And you actually say you forgive me?!"

Scorpion received no answer because Spider-Man had disappeared. Even in thermal imaging, Spider-Man could not be found. But soon, Spider-Man reappeared.

He appeared directly in front of the scorpion, abruptly and without warning, as if he had been drawn out of the space in front of him, and then directly grabbed the scorpion's helmet with his hand.

"Yes, you don't deserve to be forgiven at all."

"Cindy, don't worry about us for now."

Looking at his daughter who had pulled him out of the spider web, Mr. Albert shook his head: "Go help Spider-Man and stop the bad guys, that's what you should be doing."

"And also, you must remember..."
