Chapter 5 Strange Dreams
The persistent hypothermia eventually robbed her of her senses, and she eventually drifted into unconsciousness.

But for some reason, Jiang Hui couldn't find peace in her sleep. She always felt a needle-like pain in her head, and her brain felt swollen, as if something was constantly grinding and stirring inside. This foreign object sensation made Jiang Hui react even in her unconscious state.

After placing Jiang Hui on an electric trolley, the accompanying medical staff monitored her vital signs and quickened their pace to get her into the emergency room.

Currently, the child's vital signs are very weak. The vital signs circuit board next to him is also maintaining a long and slow "beep" sound, indicating that the other party's vital signs are not strong but are still barely stable - but the kind of weak and stable.

Suddenly, the curves on the circuit board began to fluctuate violently, forming harsh zigzag lines that bounced up and down, with the peak values almost jumping off the screen.

"Ah?" This startled the accompanying medical staff. Such abnormal vital signs usually only appear in severely injured people whose heart rate is out of control and who are dying. Moreover, this is an incompletely awakened person. Their heart rate and the function of their internal organs are regulated and will not fluctuate greatly. Otherwise, it would mean that their spiritual body has a serious problem.

Jiang Hui could be either one, which is practically a death sentence.
The medical staff who accompanied the person to the emergency room were all in a panic.

"Hurry up, something must have happened!"

"Is the treatment chamber ready? Wait, she might need some manual treatment. Have all the tools been properly sterilized?"

"The entire road over there has been opened; we can pass through directly in a bit."

"Give me the respirator quickly, and check the notification to prepare the nerve medullaris agent... Never mind, just transfer it over first, we'll deal with it later, yes, yes..."

"Hey, her eyes have been moving a lot, and her eyelids are trembling a lot. Could she be waking up now?" But that's not allowed.

Unfortunately, their "expectations" were dashed. The person on the electric cart trembled and finally opened their eyes amidst everyone's fear.

The girl had a pair of clear, sparkling eyes, long and alluring in shape, with slightly curved corners and light-colored pupils—a pair of very classic peach blossom eyes. However, at this moment, her gaze was unfocused, her eyes not seeming to be concentrated at all.

"Ms. Jiang, you're awake? How are you feeling?" A young-looking female medical worker approached the girl and asked tentatively. She didn't expect the girl to answer; she just wanted to judge Jiang Hui's state of consciousness based on her reaction.

"Hmm? It's just a reflex... Good, the body's functions still have some activity, let's get it out of here quickly..."

Jiang Hui naturally didn't hear the questions from the others at this moment. Although she opened her eyes, the "scenery" she saw was different from that of the others. Before her was a white-based landscape, but not the kind of pure white where nothing was there.

Besides the hazy white expanse, there are many strange, shadowy lines, crisscrossing and changing from time to time, sometimes long, sometimes short, and sometimes returning to their original position.

Jiang Hui felt a strange unease, yet also an inexplicable, instinctive fear of these dots and lines. She didn't know what these glowing, constantly shifting things were, but she subconsciously felt that they shouldn't be touched or handled carelessly, or something terrible would happen.

Moreover, the lines and stripes flashing before her eyes increased, forming large overlapping images that seemed to be approaching her in a three-dimensional way.

She was terrified, with a strange feeling that she was encountering something unknown and terrifying. It was something that her current level couldn't perceive or even touch. Jiang Hui wanted to escape, but the strange torrent of power wouldn't allow her to do anything about it. In the chaos, Jiang Hui lost consciousness again, this time truly returning to darkness and silence.

This time, Jiang Hui was truly dreaming.

In her dream, she seemed to be back home. That small, unpretentious but comforting little apartment, the living room was still simple and empty, the television was still playing, and even the calendar on the wall remained as it was on the day she tore it off.

However, the location of the incident had changed somewhat. The computer on the table was gone, the instant noodles in the cup were empty, and the dried noodles were lumped together on the table, but another item was nowhere to be found.

Jiang Hui quickly spotted it, because the floor-to-ceiling window next to the computer desk was gone, but it had merged with something else.

The enormous screen extends from top to bottom to the middle, with the keyboard on the lower half. The gaps and joints at the edges are well-fitted, which is a bit odd, but this gigantic computer doesn't feel out of place at all. It perfectly blocks the original location of the floor-to-ceiling window, so now the outside view is no longer visible.

Large strings of red gibberish still lingered on the screen, the font thick and large, standing out conspicuously in the otherwise unobtrusive space, giving her somewhat dulled mind a jolt.

Jiang Hui: ...

It was definitely a dream; otherwise, why would such a strange thing appear in front of her? Such a huge computer—she didn't know whether to say that deep down she was always thinking about work, even now that she was inexplicably kidnapped and missing, this thing still appeared. Or perhaps she was just heartbroken for the possibly damaged computer.

She just bought a new computer, and she hasn't even had a bite of her hot instant noodles yet.

Jiang Hui felt resentful, but her emotions seemed to be separated by a layer. In this place, which she couldn't tell if it was a dream or reality, she felt somewhat unable to relax, and her mind and heart felt empty.

While Jiang Hui was still in a daze, the previously still screen started moving again, scrolling down in a flash, and soon turned completely red.

Before the girl could react and look over, a sharp alarm blared from inside the house, so piercing and ear-piercing that it made her feel like her soul had left her body.

Then everything spun around her, the scenery shifted, distorted, and receded. As she was thrown away, Jiang Hui had only one thought: Was she deliberately messing with the computer?!

"Ms. Jiang? Ms. Jiang, wake up! Are you alright..." someone called in her ear, calling repeatedly until she almost responded.

Then she woke up.

The girl, now back in the world, opened her eyes, her gaze fixed and fixed on a large, cylindrical object that, though not high above, completely enveloped her, leaving her bewildered.

"She's awake! She's finally awake! This patient had been unconscious for a day and a half after leaving the treatment pod for unknown reasons. This was her second time in the treatment pod, and she'd been out for two days. Now that she's awake... Go and get someone."

So what she just experienced was a dream... So where is she now?
