Chapter 4 Saved
Jiang Hui was feeling confused and uncomfortable. She didn't know if it was just her imagination, but her vision was getting blurrier and blurrier, and her head was buzzing. She had the feeling that she was about to faint at any moment.

No, she can't faint. Things aren't even clear yet... She's afraid that when she wakes up next time, she'll be in an even worse situation.

Thinking back to the bizarre and absurd yet chilling true stories she'd seen in the news before—such as "girls drugged and sold to mountain villages" and "teenagers tricked out of their kidneys to buy apples"—Jiang Hui felt she could still struggle. At least this place seemed more like a rural village with internet access, and she didn't feel like she'd lost a kidney.

But for now, she still needs to be cautious. The unknown doesn't mean there's no danger; perhaps it's just that everything is yet to come. So even though she can barely stand and has a splitting headache, she still reminds herself to stay alert.

Unfortunately, reason could not overcome the body's instincts. She desperately tried to prevent her consciousness from fading into chaos, but her body was limp and on the verge of giving up.

In her panic, she grabbed onto something tall nearby to steady herself, lest she fall and be unable to get up.

"Beep beep—" The mechanical sound so close to her startled Jiang Hui, almost causing her to fling her hand away. Fortunately, she remembered that she was the one who needed help, and she managed to stop herself and steady herself again.

"Beep beep...beep beep...restart." The very mechanical voice sounded again, this time followed by a sentence.

What startup? Restart? Did she press a button on the TV remote? Why is she suddenly making that sound? It sounds... a bit strange.

"TM—ATO69372 at your service." The strange voice continued, and Jiang Hui's mind was as muddled as mush. She couldn't keep up with it and couldn't understand the meaning of the voice even though she could hear it.

"Scanned... Scanned... The person who is not fully conscious is injured at the back of the head. The injury is severe and there is significant blood loss. Immediate hospitalization is recommended."

"Ding ding, the identity of the person who is not fully conscious has been confirmed as the owner of the phone. They are currently critically injured and about to fall into a coma. The automatic alarm function has been activated and is currently calling the nearest district-level hospital. Please wait patiently... calling... calling..."

"Beep beep—" The call seemed to connect on the other end, and a voice came through: "Hello, is this Ms. Jiang, the owner of apartment 7-A at No. 385 Changhe Street? We received an alert from your smart system saying that you suffered a severe head injury. Is this true? Please confirm... Are you alright now...?"

Confirm what? Confirm if she's dead? Why is it so noisy over here? She's really suffering here, and she keeps making a fuss.

"...Alright, send a car over there to pick her up. No need to confirm, the child is already confused from blood loss. Wow, so much blood on the ground, why is the smart alarm only going off now? Right...right...right, her household registration is currently with the group account holder, they are all temporary guardians..."

There was a long string of words that followed, bursting into her head, but she couldn't decipher any of their meaning. All she felt was that it was getting noisier and noisier.

Then finally the noisy sounds subsided, and the beeping that had been bothering her stopped too. But a hissing sound, like a machine, still echoed in her ears, like a 4D sound effect.

The room returned to silence, but Jiang Hui didn't feel any better. Instead, because she no longer had anything to distract her, she began to focus more on her own feelings. She hadn't felt it before, only that her head was throbbing and her internal organs were burning. Now, as time went on, she had developed an even more unpleasant symptom: she was starting to lose her temperature.

Jiang Hui only now realized that she was probably in a really bad state. Her internal organs were burning up, while her skin temperature was gradually dropping until it was far below normal. You should know that hypothermia initially causes loss of consciousness, then gradually leads to coma, and in the later stages, it can even cause cardiac arrest.

She instinctively knew she couldn't let her guard down now; if she couldn't resist falling asleep, she might never wake up again. She belatedly realized that something had said it called…the hospital? What else was it? Oh well, whatever, it seemed like someone was coming to rescue her.

Standing was too tiring, so Jiang Hui simply changed her posture and sat on the ground. But the thing that had been making noise next to her kept nagging. It stopped barking, but started wandering around like a vacuum cleaner.

Jiang Hui couldn't even lift her eyelids anymore, and didn't bother to see what it was.

"Click, click... click click..." Such intermittent sounds came from the quiet night.

Jiang Hui was in a daze and almost completely lost consciousness. Hearing the sound, she instinctively raised her head, squinting as she tried to see what was making the noise.

"Boom!" A loud noise suddenly erupted at the doorway. Even though Jiang Hui was almost completely unconscious, she was startled and stared blankly at the sky.

"...What's going on? The connected smart system is disconnected again. We were just contacting the hospital...We have no choice but to resort to this method."

"It's probably a malfunction. The homeowner only remembered to report it after getting injured like this. I think it's from the Hailusi Group's TM series, which was just released last year. They even dare to claim a 30-year warranty. I don't think they need to wait for the 30-year warranty. If the homeowner encountered this situation, they would probably just send the person away and not need the warranty, and could retire early..."

"Hey, what are you two doing? Get back to work! Stop chatting like this! If that child bleeds to death in there, you'll both be fired!"

“Head of the medical department, this bedroom is connected to that smart system. Unless the owner, Miss Jiang, grants us permission, we won’t be able to open the door and go in anytime soon. What do you think…”

"You two idiots, was all that first aid training for nothing? You're so narrow-minded, the person's about to die and you're still trying to follow civic rules? Just smash it open! Forget it, get out of here, I'll do it myself..."

"Boom boom boom—" This time it really sounded like thunder. The nearby door shattered, and Jiang Hui, who was lying on the ground, was covered in dust.

They're in.

I saw a small figure lying on the ground, with bloodstains on the back of its head, its hair tangled and messy, and blood all over its body and the ground.

With so much blood lost, even a physically strong interstellar person would probably not be able to withstand it. The medical staff who came in seriously doubted whether this person was still alive.

However, the next moment the opponent displayed the highest level of survival instinct of an interstellar human.

The tiny head trembled as it lifted itself, a clear effort on its part, but its posture ultimately only allowed it to reach eye level with their feet. The other person whispered, almost in a breath, "Help...me (in Blue Star language)..."

Then the person fell down with a thud.
